Overall pretty good item the only thing I would say is that it would be best if you have a google environment present like google hub which will allow for a much better experience.

I owned a ring doorbell camera before this ones . Purchased because it was a awesome price but after hooking it up and setting it up the camera cant look around. The ring camera i can look hard left and right even zoom in . Google camera just a basic camera. Even the rechargeable battery only lasted about 3 weeks but then again its fall weather so it’s been getting cold. So i will be taking it back and just getting the ring
Hi Joematrix06, thanks for choosing our Google Nest devices. We're sorry to hear about your disappointment with the viewing capabilities of Nest Doorbell (Battery). It comes with a 145° diagonal wide-angle view with Zoom feature that lets you zoom in and out of your camera’s video to temporarily take a closer look at part of the scene. To make use of the Zoom feature: - Open the Google Home app. - Touch and hold your device's tile. - In your camera’s Live or History view, you can: - Spread or pinch two fingers to zoom in or out. - Double tap to zoom in. Do it again to zoom in further. - Drag one finger to pan around.
During winter, the battery life of Nest Doorbell (Battery) may have less than half the life that it has at temperatures close to -4°F (-20°C). A typical battery life of Nest Doorbell (Battery) will last about 2.5 months (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day). Keep in mind that the battery life may vary since it will still depend on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings.
We value your feedback, and we hope you will give Nest Doorbell (Batter), or any of our Google Nest devices another shot. Please consider contacting our support team for any support needs you may be having here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

Based on the documentation, I was expecting better integration with Alexa devices. I ended up returning it. Also, it is much larger than it appeared in the pictures.

If you just want to monitor the front of your house live, this works great. As far as notifying you of approaching people, forget it. I have had it for 3 days. I've connected it and disconnected it several times. I've changed settings. I have it positioned on my front porch with straight shot view of the sidewalk from the street up to my house. I have good internet so it's not that. I will be returning it. Too bad, it looks great and the video quality is excellent when looking at live shots.
Hi there, thanks for posting your feedback with Nest Doorbell (battery). We’re sorry to hear about the notification issues you have with your device.
You can choose to receive notifications for everything your device detects, or choose notifications for only certain types of activity. If you’ve turned on critical alerts, you may receive some push notifications even when your phone is set to Do Not Disturb. You can also create an Activity Zones to cover areas in your camera’s view that you care about, and choose the type of motion you want to be notified of for each zone. This is helpful if you’re receiving too many alerts from motion throughout your Nest Doorbell’s view.
If you are willing, we suggest contacting our support team so we can help you with your notifications issue. We’d be more than happy to help and improve your experience here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
