DOES NOT PROVIDE WIFI SPEEDS ABOVE 1 GB. If you’re like me and looking for a reliable mesh WiFi network that was top of the line and capable of your new high speed internet (2 or 5 GBps) this product is WRONG FOR YOU.
I made this mistake. It’s a $400 mistake. Don’t be like me. Do your research. There are much better wifi products out there for mesh networks at speeds over 1 GB.

Good Mesh router from previus Nest Wifi Pro version

My house is about 1200 sq ft and I get full speed and coverage in every room with just one pod. I haven't had any issues as of yet. The set up was super easy. I think just about anyone can install this router.

If your modem is a modem/router combo, we recommend disabling the Wi-Fi functionality of the combo or putting it in Bridge mode to avoid Double NAT as it may cause connectivity issues. When you enable bridge mode on your ISP combo, it'll turn off its NAT and allow your Wifi device to be the sole device that performs NAT. If you have 2 separate ISP devices, a modem and router, turn off and unplug the ISP-provided router, then connect your modem directly to your Nest Wifi Pro.

Huge waste of money. Do not purchase. I’m literally getting 1/2 the speeds I used to get on my old Google mesh network. I have Fios and pay for 2gb. I’m lucky if I get 400 over 300 with these. On my old Google mesh network I would get 900 over 800 WiFi speeds.

Great for an elderly person looking to get hi-speed wifi through their 1000 sq ft home. For anyone else, no so great. The Google home app is very limited when it comes to features and settings. The mesh connection is less than desirable. Advertised as wifi 6 the speeds are very inconsistent and your devices will constantly be switching between 2.4 and 5ghz bands as theres no way to lock it in leaving you aggravated and cheated if you have any connection greater than 54mbps. I was fooled by the pro wording on the box. Don’t be like me.

Great looking, but unstable

Very unstable network that regularly drops connectivity. Purchased Jan 2025. 4 access points. Latest firmware applied.
Had very few issues with the previous generation.

If your home network is at all complicated these won't work. It is the usual story. Big company thinks they know what you need more than you do, and when you try to deviate at all their offshore support can't help because it isn't in their script.

Upgraded from Netgear orbi system which management UI was terrible and constantly needed tweaking to get the best performance. Google WiFi has great range. Super easy UI. Never going back!

We suggest checking the placement of your Wi-Fi router and point, which is vital to have reliable Wi-Fi throughout your home. As a general rule, points work best when they’re no more than two rooms away from each other, where they can see each other with a clear line of sight. Barriers like heavy furniture and walls made of thick concrete or brick can affect Wi-Fi performance. You can also try the following steps that may help: - Move the connected device closer to your Wifi router or point. - Try to place it in an elevated position like on a shelf. - Repositioning the points to avoid obstructions like walls, doors, and aquariums can improve performance. - Make sure all unused devices are off and not draining bandwidth with large downloads. - Check for possible sources of interference such as microwave ovens, refrigerators or other equipment. - Run a mesh test to confirm placement of your Wifi points.

Not working with my Spectrum modem. I’ll update the review if I can get it to work. It’s possible I just got unlucky with a defective unit, but I had an Eero system before and it worked great.

Setup is quick and easy with the Google Home app and adding more devices is a breeze. Internet connectivity and speeds improved after upgrading from the previous Google wifi mesh.
