I owned the first Pixel and had it for 3 years. The Pixel 3 has a malfunction not allowing Hotspot usage. I've contacted Google to no avail. My carrier is Verizon but they are not at fault.

The phone is great ! The purchase process was painful as the store didn't have any locked Pixel 3s from Verizon. As a result, I had to pay more than a new Pixel 4 to get a Pixel 3.

I am not a smart phone proficient person. It is intuitive me, so I don’t have to call my kid for help to often. There are more bells and whistles than I can use.

50% of the time incoming calls didn't come through. Verizon was the carrier, so that wasn't the issue. Turned off "do not disturb" also. Had to return the phone.

Open Box Problems

This review is for the Open Box Excellent Pixel 3 I tried to buy twice. Both were in excellent cosmetic condition and included all accessories. The first one had not been unlocked before it was factory reset, so it required a PIN that had been set up by the previous owner who had apparently returned it. This is something that should have been checked by the Best Buy employee who accepted the return. I returned it to my local store and ordered another one online. This one seemed good until I inserted my SIM card and the phone wouldn't recognize it. It said "no SIM card installed". I spent hours downloading monthly updates (It was about 8 months behind in security updates) in hopes that one of those would solve the problem. Nothing worked, it was apparently a faulty hardware issue. Again I returned it to my local store. I then called the national number and asked if they could discount a new one for me since I had just spent so much time ordering, setting up, and returning 2 devices that should never have been shipped to me. They refused after having me stay on hold for another wasted hour. So I ordered a new Pixel 3 from Amazon for a few bucks more. Not Best Buy's finest hour.

I bought my Google Pixel from Best Buy in August - within the first week I noticed the Bluetooth kept disconnecting and would cut in and out. I worked with google over several weeks, resetting my phone multiple times, before they finally agreed to replace the phone under warranty.
They do not offer anything to ensure you are not going phoneless for the up to 10 days it takes for them to receive the old phone and send a new one. They won't allow you to purchase and get a refund when the replacement arrives like many other manufacturers. So if this happens to you - you'll be severely inconvenienced.
When I finally received the replacement, it took less than a month for the back camera to completely stop functioning. There is nothing to view in the camera - just a black screen.
So two different instances of this phone broke within less than four weeks. Do not trust this manufacturer to provide a product that will work.

Worst phone I've ever had

I had flip phones better than this garbage. This phone performs like an $80 prepaid phone. I even got a good deal on it and still am angry at how much I paid. $700 retail for this is beyond comprehension.
I've never in my life experienced so many issues with a brand new phone. Got this phone in late Nov 19 and right away had the issues with static/electronic noise in the speaker. I've had nothing but issues with the wifi. It constantly disconnects or will say connected with no internet. Btw, I have Google fiber and work from home. I don't have internet issues. Researching both of these problems revealed these are typical for this phone, and they are still occurring with the pixel 4. There is even a class action lawsuit.
The worst part, I contacted Google just 2-3 months after purchase. The only option was factory reset or a replacement phone (refurbished). They wouldn't send me the replacement until they received my piece of garbage which is a problem since my cell phone is my only phone. And why would I want a refurbished phone when I just purchased it new 2 months ago?
Google should get out of the phone business.

Got screen flicking after a couple of days. Searched around and it seems this is either caused by faulty hardware or a bug in Android with should have been fixed by an update from Google. Mine already got the latest update since day one. Very disappointed purchase.

Pretty slow compared to phones being released now, and battery life is absolutely atrocious. The only reason I got this is because it has unlimited original quality photo uploads until 2022. Otherwise, get the Pixel 5.

I purchased this phone, and very quickly had issues with the camera. It was still under manufacturer's warranty, so my Geek Squad plan didn't apply. The manufacturer sent a replacement (used) phone that almost immediately broke ( shut down and would not restart). They would not send me another replacement until they received the first replacement phone, even though it had been shipped FedEx, so had tracking. I was punished for the phone breaking so quickly. Sorry? When I searched the web, I found that both of these (camera and shutting down) are known issues that are the subject of a class action lawsuit. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

This is the second pixel phone I have had, although I love the phone it will be the last one I'll ever buy! Both phones lasted less than a year. The first one had to be warranty replaced and I am working on getting this one replaced under warranty as well. The Pixel warranty department personal are rude and make you jump through hoops even though you have already done all the things they are asking you to do.
