Don't get the cheaper knock offs. When you bend the wire they start to wear until they stop functioning. Compared to the authentic gopro, it's reinforced and the quality is very noticeable. Just well made. WI'll be sticking to all gopro authentic products from now on

We use our GoPro's daily, and most often the camera's internal microphones work very well. However, for certain projects like interviews or placing a microphone in a location away from the camera, this device allows this to happen quickly and easily since its plug and play. If you're serious about your GoPro use, you will benefit from the expanded capabilities one of these cords gives you. And kudos to BestBuy for always stocking plenty of GoPro cameras and accessories in all their stores, as I recommend BestBuy for all GoPro purchases; we know we can go there and what we need is there on the shelves!

I purchased this accessory for my GoPro Hero 4 for use in filming of our feature film for the horse back riders for their speaking of their lines while galloping across the Nevada desert. I would recommend this adapter for anyone, especially if you need this for filming. Love it!

As an engineer and avid hunter, I have 1 Hero 2HD and 1 Hero 3HD, They both work great. But for the Hero 3 they went to a USB connection for a mic output. For size reduction it makes sense. But to use a low cost yet still effective (Olympus Mic) on my hunting setup, I needed this USB to 3.5 mm adapter. As I mentioned already it works as promised. It is however a bulkier connection when used versus the direct plug in of my Olympus mic I use with my Hero 2 HD.

I tried to save money by going with off brand but only recorded on right side. tried the same microphone with OEM GoPro one and works great. if you want to get things right must use OEM products.

In order to get decent sound into a gopro you need this adapter. It's a little pricey but does the job it needs to do. Best for doing commentary on long shots.

This cable has worked great for me. I use it to connect my Sennheiser wireless mic transmitter when I connect the GOPRO to my iPhone. I use this wireless setup to broadcast with the Periscope app. The cable has been reliable to help deliver high quality sound. It's a must have and I only purchase GOPRO brand accessories.

Because the single mini USB port on the GoPro is used by this mic adapter, you cannot supply external USB power to the GoPro at the same time. Otherwise, it seemed to work well when I used it. However, make sure your condenser Mic power is on or the Phantom power on the mixer is turned otherwise you will get no audio at all! I prefer that the GP had a 3.5mm mic plug and that the adapter was not required.

I was happy to find this little adapter. It allows you to use other external microphones with your go pro. One thing that bothered me about other video cameras was the inability to run a mic to the person you're filming. Works pretty well.

I bought 3 adapters for my Hero 3+ from other sources and none of them worked. This adapter is made by GoPro and for the first time I was able to use an external shotgun. Don't waste your time with the 3rd party adapters.

I used this mic adapter along with my zoom 1 and the results are very good quality audio. The onboard mic on the GoPro is not that good, so if you're looking for great audio this is a must.

Not everyone will need one of these, but since I plan to upload some video podcasts using my GoPro camera, I think that using a microphone improves the sound quality.

This is a requirement in order to use a quality mic. Only drawback is distroying the camera case to use this.
