I had this on my Hero 4 Black and it dramatically improved my recording time. I find it to be a must have. The only downside is that it makes the camera a little bit larger, but to me it is worth it.
I would recommend this to a friend

Without the extended battery life I could not fully take advantage of the 64Gb card with 4K video. It's a seamless addition with pass-through charging and enlarged normal and waterproof case backings

Glad I got the battery backpack. Used to only get around 1 hour of recording .... Now I'm getting over 2 hours

extends time but does cover lense view and camera options. Well worth it when you can't charge your battery and you have a lot of filming time you don't want to miss!
