The lenses come protected with snug rubber covers that are almost too secure to remove. My GoPro came with the selfie stick and a helmet mount. The GoPro has the standard tripod mounting socket while having the folding ears bracket which makes it easy to place adapters with it. The helmet mount for example, comes with he perfectly curved attachment with strong adhesive. The mount attaches perfectly on top of my helmet surface and is pretty secure up there using the ears mount with screw, without having to put anything complicated on my helmet. The camera button is conveniently placed on top so I can easily press record even on the go. The selfie stick is a perfect complement to the camera. With the same mounting style as the helmet adapter, the camera screws onto the stick and it extends to enable a hide and wide coverage of my recording. All of this, the camera, the mount and the stick are all well-made, making me feel secure about my camera wherever I go, whether it is staying in place mounted or how the camera will be exposed to elements. Maybe the only concern will be the scratching of the lens which protrude from the camera body. But that's the trade off for having the widest view. OUTPUT QUALITY The quality of my footages are what to expect from a GoPro. But the real draw is the 360, something you cannot just easily get from other high action cameras. I have tried other brands and they would rather capture 180 views while the output is not as hi-res as this camera. I usually keep my camera on 360-- that's most of what this is for me. I capture a whole fun bike ride with the kids, and it captures everything around me, enabling me to get footage of everyone, regardless of whether one is in front, one at the back or even when one overtakes. Same goes for my use of a selfie stick on a hike. APP USE App setup is easy as it easily detects and connects to my phone. It also recognizes new files and it transfers to my phone instantly. Of course my recordings are useless without an output and the Quik app makes me pick and choose how to edit my my videos with ease. First off, I can lock or unlock my direction and horizons. So I can easily keep the camera POV forward no matter how I move my head, because I know I need to look around the safety of my other riders. The quality doesn't suffer and the view is very stable. I can also choose to track a specific subject AT A GIVEN TIME which is key. At each point, I can focus on kid number 1, then move onto kid number 2. And while reviewing footage, I can take snapshots of specific frames too. Also, aspect ratios, quality type and even filters can easily be altered. This makes it easy to edit and share my videos, so they just don't stay in my camera for months before anyone sees them. As a dad of 4 young kids, who loves to do activities, this is the perfect camera to keep my memories and share them at TV time with the family. I haven't even seen what this can do at my other more intense activities, and it's already showing much use just with my usual family stuff. I'm sure this will come in more handy when summer comes.

Oh how far these cameras have come!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I do a LOT of trail hiking during my off hours and have always wanted to be able to get a good body-cam style video of my "adventures". This camera allows me to do just that, giving me all angles with just one camera, without having to constantly adjust point of view, and does it without showing my extension pole in the video as well. I wear the extension pole in a molle chest pack, which allows the cameras to see both me, to the sides of me, as well as in front of me and all angles in between. The only "blind spot" is directly behind me. I'm able to trudge through the woods on my favorite trail systems and have a full 360 degree video of everything I see, everything I hear (it has 6 microphones!), and anything I encounter. This would have been handy in the past as I've encountered some somewhat aggressive characters while on the trails and would have loved to have had a video recording of the encounter to give to the police! Other super- useful features are the slow-motion capture , single-lens capture (like the HERO cameras), and the capability to capture video in 1080p, full widescreen or 1440p scales. Image stabilization is also available which does an outstanding job of taking shaking/stepping issues out of the video and makes them buttery smooth. It's waterproof to 15ft so you don't have to worry about being rained on or if it gets splashed on , and the battery is made to perform even in the coldest of weather. This camera is like having a multi-camera setup all in one small portable unit !

Go pro for your 360 needs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GoPro Max 360 is the next in its flagship that offers everything you know about GoPro with an easy to use app for quicker streamline video editing. But is it more hype than promise? Out of the box you get the basic needs for a decent set up minus the SD card. First thing i did after start up was download the app and update the camera's firmware. After doing so i proceed to charge the GoPro up and noticed a couple of things worth noting. First the unit indicator light never changes color to let you know when its fully charged, it just always stays red. After full charge the indicator light still stayed on for 15 minutes and was draining the battery down from a full charge down to 90%. I had actually had to disconnect and re-connect the battery, this has been happening randomly and is never consistent. Also for those of you that actual mess with GoPros you also know they are very common for draining batteries period. Even with the unit completely off, after 24 hours of sitting and not being used the battery was completely dead. To see if the GoPro was the issue I fully charged the battery and with it removed i let it set for another 24 hours outside of the GoPro and after insertion of the battery it still remained at a full charge. Anyways moving on, the lcd gives you quick touch screen actions like 360 mode, camera settings, etc. Through the app you are supposed to have the ability to quick edit, which you can. However download times are horrendous and editing capability is limited resulting in you having to load your videos to your desktop for better editing features. The auto video editing feature is kind of cool, where it will take photos or videos you have and analyze them in to a edited video with music. The high action speed video footage is very good as its stability controls do a very good job at keeping your shots very smooth and in control. The 360 footage offers a variety of cool features like motion lock, where you can choose a fixated position or have the camera rotate with the pitch of your turns. Built in voice activation means with just a simple voice gesture you can have your GoPro take photos for you. After testing this GoPro and even comparing it to other similar cameras i own in this category im very hard pressed to make this my go to camera. The battery issues still haven't been resolved so pull your battery out after every usage or charge time, run time on 1080p at max 60 frames yields about 120 mins, if your lucky. While 360 footage run time is anywhere between 45 to 60 minutes. The app is very basic and almost feels like it just migrated from its alpha to beta phase as features are very limited and some choose to work properly when you want them too. Case in point, bluetooth from my smartphone to the camera never worked properly through the app which meant not only could i not turn on the camera wirelessly through the app but i also had connection issues about 75% of the time. And when going through GoPro's trouble shooter, i came to fine out i had to cycle my bluetooth and the power to the camera every time i wanted to connect. At the end of the day GoPro was a monster back in the day but i feel their cameras still have unresolved issues that just seem to never get taken care of.
