    Easy Ride, Somewhat Complicated Setup

The Z4 Pro came in a massive box and was a little more than complicated to get put together. I recommend a spare set of hands to help you hold it stable while to put the wheels on, etc. The manual had quite a few mistakes inside and made it more complicated than necessary to get going. The key was a prime example for me. It said to turn it clockwise to run, but it was actually counterclockwise. And then the usage instructions were on totally different pages so getting it turned on required holding the M button. I couldn't get non-pedal assist going quite right, and perhaps it's because I had difficulty with the manual. The pedal assist was easy enough and worked pretty well. The battery didn't quite take 5.5hrs to charge like it said. To that end, it also didn't last 50 miles. I rode it down the road on pedal assist 5 (20mph) and back for about 5 miles. I then parked it and came back the next week to try again and it was dead. So even though the key was turned off it was discharging over the course of a full week. I think it comes with some nice features like the headlight and ability to fold up more compact. Folding is nice, but a little tough at first because you'll be afraid you're going to damage the cables. But it ends up being ok, it's just a bit tight to get moving. My bike made a lot of unnecessary noise when moving. The rotors and brakes were rubbing something awful and there didn't seem to be much of a way to adjust them. You just have to let it rub and carry on until it gets settled in I guess. That was true of both front and back brakes. The tires didn't come inflated, and there was no mention of the PSI in the manual. The sidewall of the tires says max 20. So that's about what I went with. I would maybe recommend a bit less as 20 gives it quite a rigid ride. Having the ability to have pedal assist on hills and inclines is awesome! Makes it a breeze to go for a ride and enjoy yourself. 20mph isn't fast really at all, but if you're not used to it's torque it can get away from you. Once you get used to the adjustments and ride it's a breeze. I do wish the speed controls were a little more intuitive and easy to use overall. The build quality could have been better overall. The brakes rubbing are really annoying. The back wheel just makes all kinds of grinding noise while riding. Hoping it evens out eventually. Seat comfort is just ok. The seat and handlebars are very adjustable in height so that's a plus for people of different heights. I was really excited for this and I think eventually I'll get more used to it and enjoy it a little more. I'll need to tinker with it to see if I can stop the insufferable grinding noise. I think if you're looking for a entry level ebike to take on leisure rides this might be a decent one to go for.

This eBike is feature packed and also packs down into a convenient portable package! There are a couple minor features that I believe would take this pro bike to the next level, but it’s pretty well packed for its price point. Assembly was fairly straightforward, nothing too exciting, it took me about 45 minutes. The bike comes well packaged, there’s sufficient foam protection, packing materials, and zip ties to keep things protected and from rubbing on each other during transit. They include a nice little tool kit that gives you every tool you need to assemble the bike. The instructions are laid out well, but a couple of the pictures could be a little clearer, and some of the steps could have used an additional helpful tip. I struggled mounting the front tire while trying to balance the bike, but after finding an instructional video on YouTube, I realized I could have just flipped the bike over and accomplished it with ease. Once you get everything assembled, you need to make sure you charge up the battery to full before the first use of the bike. This process can take up to 5.5 hours, so you may need to save the inaugural trip to the next day if you assembled in the evening like I did. The keyhole is in a little bit of an awkward position (underneath the battery), and the manual isn’t super clear about there being 3 key positions. You have a battery unlocked position, the battery locked position (which the bike arrives in), and one more partial is the actual battery “connected” setting that allows power to the bike. The bike is quite adjustable for height, so if you’re a tall person, I don’t think you’ll have an issue riding this. The bike seat has a tiny bit of “suspension” built-in, and then the front shocks are adjustable and lockable if you need to keep the shocks from moving. Overall riding impression thoughts are summarized into these words: impressed and sufficient, yet a tiny bit of room for improvement. The bike is easy to operate and quick to accelerate up to speed, the motor feels very powerful, and at 500 watts, it doesn’t disappoint. However, lower speed maneuverability is a little more difficult. Just taking off at power assist level 1, in gear 1, the bike powers you right up to a few mph and you just sit there free spinning as you’re pedaling slower than what the motor is moving you at. Instead of the bike really “assisting” you, it just feels like the pedals are a throttle control. If you’re spinning the pedals, the bike is supplying power to the motor. I’d like this to be a little more hand-in-hand with actual pedaling effort instead of taking the energy I’m supplying right out of the equation. That’s the purpose of the hand throttle control. Beyond that, the other 2 improvements that could be made to the bike are regenerative braking and hydraulic braking. While onboard brakes are at least disc brakes, they are just direct cable driven, and stopping 2-300 pounds of bike and rider can be troublesome and slow at high speeds. You can’t supply enough braking pressure with your hand to stop the bike as quick as you’d like at times. Additionally, if you stop pedaling, the electric motor just turns off and you start coasting. If you could add in the ability to regeneratively brake, you would general additional energy and provide more stopping power without having to upgrade the manual braking system. These minor missed improvements don’t keep the bike from being great, but with fixing those would make a fantastic eBike. Wrapping up, one of the best features is the bike’s ability to fold up. This makes the bike super portable in comparison to more full size mountain bikes especially. While at almost 70 pounds it can be a little heavy to lug around, I was able to stuff the bike in the trunk of my car. The handlebars slide and fold down, the seat slides down, the bike folds in half, and even the pedals tuck in an extra few inches to try to be the most compact package possible. Overall, if you’re looking for a feature packed, portable eBike that’s powerful and has a great battery life, this eBike is at a great price point and will be enjoyed for the many trips to come.

First Time Having One Of These, And Had A Ball!

I've always wanted one of these bikes, especially when I'm out hanging and see someone right past me with one of these! So when I had opportunity to get one, I didn't hesitate! I was extremely excited with the FedEx guy came to my door with the box! He had difficulty finding my house, because I just had to paint it I forgot to put the numbers back on. I guarantee you that if someone else would've gotten this delivery, they would have returned it. So I couldn't wait to open the box, in my first impression was, it's a lot smaller than I thought it would be. So I hurried up and took the bike out of the box so I can get it ready to go outside. I live in the area where they are really small streets of my subdivision, so the neighbors may have been a little bit angry with me testing this bike out. The thing I don't like about the bike, do you have to do a little bit more peddling would've hoped for, but overall, I thought it was well-built. Eventually I had to let my daughter ride it, and now she wants to get one of her own. I would definitely recommend this to someone do you like to be outdoors. I only wish that you didn't have to do hardly any peddling.

    Beware of product support

This bike is great and didnt know that it actually goes up to 28mph with pedal assist. My only issue is that the company that makes these (GoTrax) refuses to do any warranty work since this is a Best buy exclusive product. They told me they will eventually sell this bike on their website but who knows when that will happen. If you want an extra battery or any parts you can find some around the internet just not on their website.

Fun Ride, Easy to Take with You

If you’re looking for an outdoor activity, biking in general is a lot of fun, but the addition of an ebike makes the level of entry a bit easier, adds a new element of fun, and it’s great exercise . This bike has wide tires, 500w motor that accelerates up to 20mph, and a foldable frame that I was able to get into my chevy malibu believe it or not. This bicycle was easy to put together out of the box. It came with all the tools needed and only the front wheel, fender, light, pedals, and handlebar needed to be assembled. All the bolts were pre-installed where they were supposed to go so no annoying blister packs with labeled parts. I can’t compliment the packaging enough, there was plenty of effort put into making sure the bike ships without scratches or damage. Each area of the bike had a zip tied foam covering which kept it in great shape from shipping. The bike is a bit tall for me, luckily the seat and handle bars are easily adjustable with a quick release lever that lets them slide up or down and easily locks back in place. The handle bars are comfortable to use, no issues reaching any of the controls. The throttle is a thumb throttle, not a grip twist type. I don’t know if I have a preference, but the thumb throttle was easy to use. It’s installed on the left side which is the side you should be using for hand signals which means you can’t signal to turn while still using the throttle. Probably fine in most cases but if your using the throttle uphill, you’ll lose speed unless you pedal through it. It also worth mentioning that it does come with a kickstand that was already installed with a rubber tip to keep your floor from getting scratched up. I’m new to ebikes so there was a bit of a learning curve for me. There’s a nice “transmission” lever/button on the right that helps with getting up to speed. Just like a car, work your way from the lower gears to the higher gears. The “E” part of this is the pedal assist. Besides off, there are 5 levels of assist. I describe pedal assist as help up to a certain speed, then beyond that speed you’re on your own. After about one rotation of the pedal, the motor kicks in and will help you up to a certain point, on pedal assist 1 I find that I’m doing most of the work, but it does help me get going up to speed from a stop. On pedal assist 5, it’s 0 to 19ish mph in a few moments without much effort at all, which can be a bit daunting at first if you’re not used to it. The quick forward acceleration wouldn’t be ideal on a trail where you may have a turn coming up, so plenty of practice with pedal assist is recommended before you go trail blazing for the first time on an e-bike. A large appeal for me is the folding part of this bike. Two quick release levers and you’re folding. Handlebars fold down next to the tire and the frame folds in the middle so that tire meets tire. The frame has a little stand on the bottom to help support the bike upright in a folded state. You can then put the bike in the rear of your SUV or, in my case, a 4 door sedan. It is a full size bike with 16” tires so it does take some strategic guidance in the back of my car, but it can be done. I do, however, recommend getting some help in that scenario, as to not damage anything. In the back of an SUV or truck, no problem getting it loaded in. As for other features, there is a front headlight which can be turned on by holding down the + button, it adds some visibility but I’m not sure if it’s more for other drivers than your own. The display screen provides battery level, distance traveled, which gear assist mode you’re using, speed you’re traveling. You can hold the “-“ button and there’s a walk mode which propels you around 2-3mph. The disk brakes are a nice add and work great, reflectors are on both the front and back for additional night visibility. Finally, a small bike rack area on the back where you can affix you’re choice of accessory. The user manual was in color and has all the relevant information you could need from use, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting. As for the things that could be better. The fenders seem fairly flimsy and cheap. I don’t like how the front one attaches to the bike, in fact, I’ve already lost one of the bolts that hold it in the wire support that runs along the back of the front fender. The key ignition placement, on the bottom of the frame, is a bit inconvenient to find with the key. On the top or side would make it a bit easier to find.
