Customers are saying

Customers praise Gran Turismo 7's impressive graphics and engaging gameplay, along with its wide selection of cars and realistic driving experience. However, criticism centers around the game's microtransactions, which some players find excessive and impacting the overall enjoyment. Concerns were also raised regarding the game's price point and the always-online requirement.

You know, I had my doubts about this one. Fans like me were waiting for Gran Turismo 7 since 2013, GT6 (which should have been a PS4 title). It takes awhile to download, but when the intro begins and it shows real footage of the automobile industry through the years, I got chills. For racing and auto enthusiasts like me, it was really nice to see. Then the game begins. And there's this beautiful menu screen that is so well organized and put together, the story mode. The gameplay is nice, with decent handling of the cars. If you aren't playing with a wheel, you can turn on motion sensor control on your controller and use it like an actual steering wheel. There's this new thing called the Cafe' which I think is neat, it gives you "missions" to complete and afterwards you get rewards and unlock new tracks and stuff. For every race I've done so far I got a new car, something that hasn't been in the older games. You also get a decent credit reward for each race too. I was able to get a nice used Porsche for only 150,00 credits, a bargain within the first day of playing. Doing the missions, which are actually called Menu Books, unlocks history behind all the cars you collected. The game itself is.. breathtaking. Its like an upgraded version of the previous installment, Gran Turismo Sport, but they took it and made a new life into it. The graphics are just astonishing and I'm using a PS4 system, and with a PS5 I can't tell what is real and what's not. The game once again captures the true magic of automobiles and racing which we all have come to love and adore with a passion. There are also new features where you can fully customize each car with a balanced menu with everything you need in the tune shop to enhance performance, and it describes each part perfectly and how they work. There is a GT Auto place where you can change oil, paint, make custom liveries and paint jobs with real life decals, everything. The used cars section is neat too, its organized to look like you are shopping online for a car. The detail is just insane. So much work and detail was put into this game. I love this game. Polyphony Digital, you've done it again. Thank you for bringing me closer to the passion I love the most: cars.

Complete disappointment. Not sure where to begin. The game went away completely on what grand turismo was meant to be. The game is ridiculous. Between the high micro transactions and the low payoff for races or having to tune your car to the lower standard to race the car that you spent money on. On top of that the price off the cars are insanely high . Please. The reason I got the game is to be able to play with cars I cannot afford not to get into a game that prices cars like the real world . Not to mention you have to purchase the online option to play the full game

Phenomenal graphics, controls and gameplay with tons of tracks to race on and cars to unlock. Theres also tons of single player objectives to complete unlike GT Sport. On PS5 in particular theres also no waiting betwenn races or menu transitions which is a huge step up from the PS3 GT games. Only complait is that you can spend real world money to get extra credits but since you can get plenty of credits just from playing and being good at the gane its only a minor issue in my opinion. If you enjoyed the GT games on PS1 and PS2 this is a great return to form.

Awesome addition to the Gran Turismo family. A huge plus it is available to run on the PS4 and PS4 Pro also. I got my dad a copy who has the PS4 so he can enjoy the game as well as play with me too on my PS5 copy! Lots of awesome looking tracks and cars, details are breathtaking and car setups are phenomenal. Only complaint really so far is i am seeing a lot of cars recycled from GT5/6 and GT Sport. I want to see more newer cars, 20,21,22,23 model years. Maybe they are coming later, and hopefully not in a paid DLC. Overall hard to beat as a sim racer. I also play Assetto Corsa and Iracing for competitive racing which are probabaly more intense and more realistic for Sim racing. I see Gran Turismo as the gate keeper for sim racers, especially with the license tests scenarios. This gets people (even newbies) the basics and the '101' so to speak of cornering and handling the car. I have played and been a part of every Gran Turismo since GT1 way back in the old days and I am having just as much fun now as I was then!

So far so good - this is my first time back in the Gran Turismo fold since I played it on the PS3. The graphics, as usual are immense, very much eye candy. And as any car lover knows, attention to detail is key. GT7 has that in spades. If you pause, go to camera mode and do a full 360 of a vehicle, you can zoom in and see the crisp reflections of the scenery in the rim of the center caps on a vehicle. There is that much detail! Game play, this is where I am knocking off one star. The menu system is a little clunky. For example, if I want to change a car, I should be able to click on my car at the top of the screen and bring up a quick select menu. You can't. You have to go to back out and go to the garage, and then load up which car you want. Many, many times, I've been playing, I complete a mission, or an event etc, and then I get the 'yellow box of doom' in the top right corners saying that the game is now offline, and my progress hasn't been saved. My PS5 is hardwired, so it's not a low signal or wifi issue. And then there were the issues with Menu Book progression. For the longest while, I was trapped on book 19 - having completed it, the next book wouldn't trigger and I couldn't receive the rewards. Thankfully the latest patch has taken care of that, but at the time, it was truly frustrating. As the game flourishes in the real world, I'm sure updates and cool DLC will make this an even better game. Looking forward to see where Sony takes this over the next year and beyond.

My kids and I are enjoying this game. Reminds me of GT3. Playing through races to get new cars has been fine for us and we spend most of our credits on upgrades and tuning. My main complaint is that you have to be online all the time to play most of the game - wish that wasn't the case.

Gran Turismo 7 is an excellent game. It looks fantastic, with features like the photo and scapes modes, making the game look eerily photo-realistic. On the track, racing is top-notch. Every car feels unique; every change in the garage and every decision on the track matters. However, it doesn't mean there aren't issues. Always online requirements have failed me numerous times and lost progress when the servers have died; this is before launch.

Best driving simulator on PlayStation 5 hands down. So many cars to choose and play with. This game on PlayStation 5 feels so amazing with the haptic feedbacks and the vibrations of the dualsense. It’s perfect for new players to racing games and seasoned veterans. It’s fun to just play but there’s plenty of challenges for those who want it. I would rate it 8/10

Gran Turismo 7 brings the series back to it's roots. Great simulation racing where it uses the full PS5 to bring it to life. Don't fall for the micro-transactions. You can earn 50+ cars just by playing the single player modes.

Having grown up playing GT1&2 and taking a hiatus for many years.... Man, the nostalgia is incredible. Will never forget the two disk gt1 game when it came out. GT7 has it's quirks, but besides needing more cars and tracks (which have been getting added slowly via update), no complaints 2+ years into it.

The game is beautiful, and has far more content then GT sport did. However, the latest update kinda pushes you to get microtransactions, with the races paying less. The devs promised change for April, but we’ll see
