THE ONLY WAY TO WATCH THIS MOVIE IS IN 3D

Gravity MUST be watched in the 3d. There's no other way. On my 92 inch Mits DLP 1080 P screen - still way bigger and better than those overblow 4k TVs - the experience of this stupendous film really pulls you in...when I saw it in IMAX 3d I actually came out of the theater feeling battered and bruised; it was if my family and I had experienced Sandra Bullock's space adventure along with her. So please Best Buy bring back 3D. NOW.

Loved learning about space, the great collaborative work all of the countries have invested in space science and learning, Did not think about what happend to satellites and space junk/wrekage. Did not know space is silent and loved the music created for the film. Loved the BLU-RAY extras. Watched all with amazement. Glad Sandra Bullock character returned in water and found her way to walk back into life. Friends who saw Gravity in the movies loved seeing it again on BLU-RAY with the extras

Have the first release, but bought this one because of the Dolby atmos sound track, I have the 7.2.4, setup in my theater and the sound is so realistic that I did feel like I was in space, I've never been in space, but it was just awsome, I love Dolby atmos, I hope more movies will be, especially San andr was, love it

MY HOME THEATER IS NOT "I-MAX" BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY SUGGEST WATCHING THIS FILM ON THE LARGEST SCREEN POSSIBLE, AS SMALL SCREENS JUST DON'T CONVEY THE FEELING THIS FILM DESERVES!! THE 3-D CERTAINLY ADDS A WHOLE DIFFERENT DEMENSION FOR HOME VIEWING!! I SCREENED IT ON A 12' HOME THEATER AND A 92" DLP AND IT WAS FANTASTIC!! WITH RUNNING TIME ONLY 90 MIN. MORE SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO FINISH THE STORY!!

Gravity has become one of my favorite films of all time and the greatest example of 3d being utilized in such a way that it truly enhances the overall experience. It adds a level of immersion to this film that is lacking in 2d. This is how 3d can become more than a gimmick. Bravo!

I absolutely loved this movie. I can't remember having more fun at the theater in a long, long time... maybe since the first time I saw Jurassic Park. Definitely worth getting in 3D. This movie is a technical marvel and keeps you on the edge of your seat for the full 90 minutes. The opening, 12-minute tracking shot is a sight to behold... and it only gets better from there. The bonus features are amazing. It was really cool to see how this movie came together. I highly recommend it.

Went into this flick with high expectations due to then attention it received in the media. The concept was intriguing and with a high caliber cast, what could go wrong? Almost nothing. It was enjoyable and didn't seem nearly as long as it was. Sandra Bullock carried the film with a great performance. Clooney in his limited role was himself as always. The visuals and were incredible and Blu ray makes them shine. The only thing I didn't like was the sudden ending, it left me wanting more.

The film takes place after debris from a Russian satellite comes speeding through their orbit ripping their space shuttle to shreds causing Dr. Ryan Stone to float untethered in space. Coming to her aid is astronaut Matt Kowalsky, who estimates that the debris will again circle the earth and again zip past their location in approximately 90-minutes. Their mission quickly changes into a race of survival high above the earth where help from anyone outside of each other is impossible.

Didn't see in a movie theater as prices are expensive but now wish I did since just seeing it 2D makes me wish for more like 3D or 3D IMAX, since Gravity is like Avatar in that seeing it in 2D is okay, but 3D is how the movie was meant to be seen. This movie is a bit hard to review as the filmmakers got most of the physics right such as was done with 2001: A Space Odyssey or The Right Stuff or Apollo 13. Movie ends abruptly but can't blame them since it would be a longer movie.

My favorite movie of 2013 gets a worthy Blu-ray release that is just shy of true greatness. The transfer of the film to Blu-ray is solid, but the bitrate is a bit low for a film of this magnitude. Had the special features been relegated to their own disc, the film would have had more room to breathe. Even so, I highly recommend this Blu-ray to everyone. I chose the 3D/2D combo because I was so impressed by the 3D in theaters and had to have the option to view it that way at home.

A well regarded movie (Oscar nominated) - I was finally able to see it. The story and storytelling are terrific, but watch the special features to truly appreciate the innovation needed to make this movie happen. The realism of the microgravity environment was unparalleled. The use of long shots evoke the feeling you're watching video from space. Sandra Bullock (and, it is really all about her character), shows a huge range of emotions in the 90 minutes of the movie.

I saw this movie in Imax 3D and it was tremendous, the shrapnel shooting in your face made me flinch. Even in 2D on my smaller TV this movie is gripping. Some people may not like that it's a "smaller" movie if that can be said about something set in space. It really feels like a personal tale and you really care about Sandra Bullock's character. If you like her or more personal movies you'll love this. If you like special effects you'll marvel at how this was done.

Gravity on Blu-ray may not have quite the same effect as it did on IMAX screens in 2013, but it still dazzles on an HDTV. Some of the best sound effects I've heard spin through all of the channels, as astronauts and satellites hurtle through space. A thrill ride of a movie, this is must-own stuff for home theater aficionados. Add in a ton of bonus content, and this is one of the best Blu-ray releases in recent years.

***THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!*** This is the kind of movie that you will find yourself pressed against your seat while you watch it. The movie is filled with great suspense a sense of "fear" for the characters since the entire scenario is a "no win" one. You really have a great feeling of being in space it sometimes makes we wonder how this was filmed. Sandra Bullock is great and even though she was mostly by herself, her acting was quite superb!

This is a great movie, thrilling, and exciting. It is best seen on the largest screen possible, that way you feel like you are floating in space too. The Blu-Rays is great, but the Blu-Ray 3D version looks much grainier, and this is unusual because 3D usually clarifies the image. It is no Titanic-3D. But still good. That being said I own over 100 Blu-ray 3D titles and Gravity 3D is not as bad as the Top Gun 3D transfer which is the grainiest 3D that I've experienced.

If you missed this in the theaters, I'm sorry, but turn off the lights, sit closer to your TV than your mother would allow, and prepare to feel as close to weightless as an earthbound couch will allow you. The minimalist soundtrack (explained greatly in the extras) and the amazing camera work (also greatly explained in the extras) make for an amazing experience. I almost hit play immediately after returning to the main menu after the first DVD viewing.

    Selling Point

The major selling point of this release, or any 3D release is the 3D, in some case that can be a hit or miss proposition. In this instance it's the major factor is getting this one over the standard version. Having seen the movie now twice, the story elements that were suprising the first go around, aren't as thrilling the second time, so what keeps you coming back are the amazing visuals, while they look good in a flatten 'scape, are transporting in the 3D.

    Incredible Sound and Visuals

While the story itself is simply one of survival in more than harsh conditions, the visuals and sound (or lack of) in this movie are incredible! Most action films love to crank up the gain to go along with their explosions, but the almost "silent" destruction scenes (no sound in space!) confuse your brain and make it like nothing seen before. Lots of fun in this one and the science isn't terrible for Hollywood par.

I really enjoyed this movie. The fimmakers used the backdrop of space to tell a compact story and used CGI and 3D to great effect. Unlike too many spectacles from Hollywood you don't have time to get bored by the special effects because the storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat. With only two actors involved other than off screen voices you have to admire Sandra Bullock's ability to carry a film while Clooney does a good job just being Clooney.

the movie is not science fiction, as it would have been when i was a 50's kid looking at the night sky. we curse sagging faces and other body parts that gravity effects.......but this movie makes me, at least, thankful for the hold our earth has upon us and renews the wonder of the science and knowledge and bravery required for leaving its confines. saw it in 3d in the theatre..........stunning. the tension throughout made my popcorn disappear quite quickly.
