Got it free with the purchase of a mower. It helps to finish my yard when the other 4ah battery runs out. I would recommend buying the bigger one unless you’re just looking for a small additional battery or have a small patch of grass to cut or to string trim.

Battery last approximately and hour which means by the time I am done mowing the battery is basically dead and I would have to wait another hour before it charges and I could weed eat and blow down the yard.

It is a cheaper option as batteries can be quite expensive depending on which battery it is. One of the many benefits of the Greenworks 80V platform is the interchangeability of the batteries. If additional batteries are purchased in a combo pack (tool + battery) for another Greenworks 80V tool, you will have extra battery that would provide you with the additional run time. Alternatively, extra batteries can be purchased to extend the run time. This unit is compatible with 80V Greenworks batteries (only). It is important to recognize that the run time depends on the load acting against the unit and fluctuates depending on the height setting, the terrain, grass height, type of grass, whether you are mulching, operator technique, etc. - there are so many factors to consider. The harder the unit must work, the quicker the battery charge will drain. Similar to how the gas in a vehicle will deplete quicker when driving at higher speeds or carrying more weight. While the 2.0Ah battery is compatible and can be used with the 80V lawn mower it will not provide optimal run time. We recommend a 4.0Ah battery or higher for a lawn mower.
