I picked this up during the Black Friday sale - and, I must say, what a pleasant surprise! A family feature: this is not - unless the kids are securely in their teens. There were some seriously dark themes to the backstory and parts of the movie are downright creepy! Just as the Grimm's Brothers intended it to be. The characters were all well acted and the production quality was solid. Definitely worth the watch!

A sweet tale of Gothic horror, that got a theatrical release! Which is sorely lacking from the movie studios for a long time now. Oz Perkins, conjurs a wonderful, gorey tale on the classic and over done grim fairy tale. Check out his Black coats daughter if you enjoy this.

This is a great movie and, after seeing in the theater, I was really surprised by the initial tepid reviews it got. I still feel like this will gain at least a cult following and wider appreciation within the next few years. It's gorgeously shot and directed, with imagery that reminded me of stylized European horror films from the 70's and Alejandro Jodorowsky. My summation of the movie is that it feels like an A24 film for young adults. To me, that's very cool and unique. I think I read the director would have liked to make more fairy tale types of films in this style, and I wish and hope he might get the chance.

A nice slow burn of a horror movie. If you expect a fast pace and tons of jump scares. Than you will hate this. Cause this is not that film. If you love stuff like The Witch or The Lighthouse. This film is for you.

Nice dark twist on an old tale. This film had a nice and creepy feel to it and the original score made you feel like something was wrong throughout the entire movie.

This is a beautifully filmed and well acted movie. It has a very dark and foreboding feel to it. The pacing is slow and the movie will be overly long for some.

Not a typical gory horror but well acted, well paced and I liked the ending. On sale with the digital copy, a great value for these long virus lockdown days.

A good movie to see to get ya in the mood for Halloween. I like movies that break the mold and strive away from old and tired way of making movies.

I really liked this one. It’s a little like The Witch, so if you like that you will like this one. Fantastic looking disc also.

A eerie take on the legendary story. Wish it wasn't using this funky letter-boxing. Why no 4K version??? Get with the times.

Great hammer films vibe to this film. Contains a great atmosphere and some excellent performances. New take on a classic tale.

Didn't get great reviews overall but I legitimately love this movie. It has such great atmosphere, some truly striking imagery all wrapped up in a unique twist on the old fairytale. Given the fact that the movie looks so good, I wish they would've released this on UHD but the Blu-ray quality is perfectly acceptable. The director has done some interesting stuff and I'm interested to see what's next!

Everyone knows the story of Hansel and Gretel, but this was an interesting take on the Fairy Tale.

The movie is just okay. Looks great on bluray so that’s a plus. Not many bonus features

Decent film but it was a more traditional story and a bit of a horror without the jump scares

Gretel and hansel is a great remake from a children’s classic book and is very creepy
