Best Buy has great extended warranty service

I know 'experts' advise not purchasing extended warranties. But I did for my previous 65" LG TV. After three ways, it had problems. I called Geek Squad and told them of the problem and scheduled an in-home appt. Before the appt. time, a tech called me on the phone and asked about the problem. He had me take a few screen shots and text to him. He immediately got back to me and said he was very familiar with the problem and gave me a ticket number and told me to call the Geek number to arrange for a new TV. So I did after looking online at similar TV's. This was an OLED model. I found a model. When on the phone , the tech and I agreed that the new model was on sale, cheaper than my original TV. I got full credit price so I got a credit on my Best Buy Card. They tech on the phone schedule an appt, to deliver/install new TV and haul old one. Two techs arrived and did a great/SAFE appointment. AND...I was looking up some TV specs on the website and noticed the TV was reduced by another $150. I chatted on the website and the agent gave me another $150 credit. With all the credits....I bought another 5 year extended warranty. Still around $50 left and bought another item, headphones.

I initially purchased a Samsung TV and the Samsung Sound Bar and had it installed by the Geek Squad. I was very disappointed with the TV as the sound volume stopped working after the first day on both the TV and sound bar and then in spite of all my efforts--following the manual guidelines, etc. it started working again and then stopped again after another 2 days. However, the most frustrating part was finding out that the TV did not have a Time awake feature. I have for many years used my TV as my awake alarm clock and set it to the music channel. For some strange reason, Samsung discontinued this feature on its TVs. So the TV had to be returned to Best Buy and was replaced with a Sony TV and sound bar also installed by the Geek Squad. The Geek Squad Agent went above and beyond when swapping out the Samsung TV with the Sony as my wall mount did not work with the new Sony TV and sound bar. He returned to the store and brought back a wall mount which would work and completed the install. Needless to say I was very happy and pleased with this agent going above and beyond and completing the install that day as I had a time crunch issue and would have experienced considerable inconvenience. Thank you Geek Squad and Best Buy!!!!

I had the Geek Squad at Best Buy reinstall a new 65" TV after the one I purchased three years ago started displaying some burning. Thank goodness that I had purchased a Geek Squad warranty and setup agreement. Geek Squad came right out to verify my claim and quickly responded to let me know that I was able to get another TV of my choice with a credit of the same value of the original TV; and that they would deliver and setup/install the TV for no cost. As they did the first time, the Geek Squad guys did an outstanding job installing the new TV and made sure it was working properly and went though all of the new TV's functions with me. Yes, anyone could have done the install by themselves, but I rested assured that it would be done perfectly the first time without any frustrations. It you have any doubt or the job might be more challenging than you want to take on, there is nothing easier than to have the Geek Squad install your big ticket items for you. The Geek Squad extended warranty surely paid off on the TV I purchased.

Geed sqaud good. Best Buy TV's not so good. Had 2 Sony big screens go bad on us in under 2 years! Luckily we had insurance coverage, but only up to what we paid, even if TV we had was worth more and we paid less as they discounted the TV. So you may wind up paying more for a similar TV which was the case with us.

This service worked out great when my computer was acting up and working very slowly. Very convenient too.

The Geek Squad in-home service is excellent. My Denon receiver was defective and this service was offered to re-install the new receiver and re-program all my existing components previously connected to the receiver. The technicians were very polite, efficient and eager to educate me on how to use my TV, receiver, Blu-ray and Harmony remote. I'm not highly knowledgeable with the new wireless technologies, so I asked ALOT of questions. I was very impressed with their patience in answering all of my questions, and they genuinely wanted me to be comfortable and confident in operating the components I had previously purchased. Other in-home services I've experienced just install and leave. Not the Geek Squad; they differentiate themselves by making sure you have a superior "customer experience" from the in-store purchase to your home and any future services.

Glad I paid the Geek squad to hang my 50 inch class flatscreen. They should up on time and made quick work of my instal which included a sound bar as well. Very pleased with the install and how quickly they were in and out of my house.

I had to have my TV replaced. This is why I have the Best Buy Total Membership. The Geek Squad agent was excellent and knowledgeable. He carried out the necessary tasks in good time to replace my TV. Awesome. Thank you

When I purchased my OLED65B7 in October of 2017 I also purchased the Qeek Squad coverage. They also wall mounted the product. In January of this year I started to notice difficulty to adjust color with faces on the screen and noticed lines and images on my lower screen. I contacted Geek Squad for a scheduled call. When they arrived and reviewed my situation it was determined that burn-in occurred and Qeek Squad would be in touch with me. It didn't take long to rectify my issue and after a cordial conversation with my options it was worked that I upgraded from what I had to the OLED65C8PUA. The service was fast and their care on how they had taken down and installed my new OLED panel was great. It is worth the protection in your investment.

The geek squad installers arrived on time and re-hung the TV which was off and leaning to right by a quarter of an inch. They were correcting an installation done by a previous GS installer.
They also moved the TV up 3 inches as it was too low. The installers were generally nice and courteous and I wouldn't mind them coming back to doing more work for me in the home. I advised them that the prior installation was done by only one person for a 55 inch TV and they indicated it probably should done by two people.

The agent removed two old flat screen TV’s and installed and set up the two new ones I bought He was friendly knowledgeable and professional. His work was completed efficiently and he cleaned up and carried away the cartons and old TV’s. Excellent from start to finish

It was a 'Total Tech' Thursday once again at Casa de
Voykin. Feels like Throwback Thursday.
After waiting 5 days for Best Buy/Magnolia Geek
Squad's top installer at the Gilbert, AZ location, Alex and Sidney arrived promptly at 11:30 A.M.
this morning to install our replacement LG "77 OLED
G-2 flatscreen
TV, and dispose of the remains of my 77" LG G-2
OLED flatscreen which died prematurely of total back panel failure at the age of one year and 5 days young.
It's been traumatic losing two 77" flatscreen TV's in less than two years, especially the 1st LG G-2 OLED TV the day after I added the Sunday NFL Ticket to my YouTube TV account. I have lost count of the number of flatscreen TV's that the Geek Squad Agents have installed in several homes that I have owned over the years; however, today, I experienced the new GOAT of Geek Squad installers, Alex, who effective today has been promoted to Lead Custom Installer for Magnolia!
Congratulations Alex! Alex was extraordinarily professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and meticulous in every way possible! Major kudos to Alex and Sidney, you guys murdered it!!!
