This was the least expensive place to get this particular edition. I have never seen the stage version nor the original John Waters film that this is based on but this is one of the movie musical greats. Everyone is great and super entertaining. There are lots of extra features including tutorials for some of the dance numbers. This is much better than Hairspray Live! the made for tv version. Movie musicals aren't always done very well but this is great.

You've never seen John Travlota like this. He plays the mother, wearing a large woman padding, of Tracy. A girl who also has a weight problem, but doesn't let it get her down. It's the time of the civil rights movement where blacks and whites don't mingle until Tracy gets involved. It has a great cast of actors and the music is fun to sing along with.

Such a cute little movie, its a little odd but in a good way - this one always puts me in a good mood love the cast and everything so great! Great girls night in movie with some pizza and hairspray hmmm!

If you enjoy musicals, this is definitely one to see. John Travolta playing Christopher Walkin's wife, Michelle Pfieffer playing Ms. Baltimore Crabs, plus many talented younger actors including Zac Efron and Nikki Blonsky. And you can't forget Queen Latifa!

Really good movie. Had it in vhs, but wanted to upgrade it to blu-ray. Good songs. One of Travolta's best

I saw the original John Waters movie and bought this version mostly to see Michelle Pfeifer and John Travolta in such untypical roles for them. Everyone did surprisingly well! It's very entertaining in a kooky campy way.

I only reordered this dvd because my first one skipped and would freeze because I have watched this movie so much. I love this movie. It's one of my favorite singing play movies.

I loved the original and this remake is even more fun. The music is great and the cast is full of favorites. I would recommend owning both versions.

Awesome musical with nicely remastered graphics. The visuals are not on par with new releases but a step up from the standard def version.

Great movie one of my favorite movies and I love watching the dancing and singing. What it lacks though is the DVD extras I wish they would add more bloopers or outtakes
