While the campaign in this one leaves a lot to be expected, that is understandable for a game that is second in a trilogy. It has no real beginning, no real ending, and the interactions between Master Chief and Locke are few and far inbetween unlike the trailers would have you believe. This being said, just as in any Halo campaign, the action is non-stop, the cinematics are breathtaking and the story is grand. The multiplayer, while I haven't played much of it yet, seems to be pretty great. The new Warzone mode is a very refreshing take on FPS multiplayer with an even mix between AI and non-AI enemies. While I wish the games lasted a bit longer and weren't so rushed, it is still a welcome addition to the game. In Arena mode the classic Halo multiplayer is back with the same modes and gameplay everyone loves. If you like customization, you will love this games multiplayer because there are hundreds of armor options, camos, gun variants, visor skins and emblems to get. Overall I would highly recommend this game to anyone, however I would strongly suggest you have played at least Halo 4 so you know what is going on if you plan to play the campaign at all.

I'm a campaign person, I don't really play multiplayer much. The campaign was great, the story was very interesting getting Master Chief and Spartan Locke's point of view. This game adds new story lines to the universe and when I was done playing the game left me wanting more, wondering what happened with everything. Great gameplay.

The game runs incredibly smooth with familiar controls and gameplay but with enhanced graphics over previous releases. I can't comment on the multiplayer since I haven't used it but the single-player mode, which is becoming a rare feature, is awesome. A must-have for any fan of the Halo franchise or sci-fi first-person shooters!

This game does some things right and some things wrong. This is the fastest paced halo game I've played and I've put 500+ hours into the previous installments of the series. The comparison in combat is much different from the first 3 games and can be best related to its predecessor considering they were both made by the company 343. It's a different taste compared to Bungies version but there's fun to be had with this one. 343's amazing at constantly adding new content for this game and best of all, IT'S FREE! No season pass required. There is in game content you can buy but all of it is optional/non essential since everything can be purchased with in game experience points. Great tactic to get gamers to keep coming back. The campaign is left to be desired, story is weak and short which is the biggest downside. Multiplayer is where you'll get the most of this game but make sure you have friends with XBOX ONES because there is no screen sharing in this version whatsoever.

Multiplayer is great as usual with Halo. Not as thrilling as a COD match, but good fun. Wish their was more character development opportunities though. Campaign is fun, but much better if playing co-op with a friend. The story was not good enough to hold my full attention in a solo campaign run.

This Halo game is a good continuation in terms of moving the story forward, but the multiplayer feels a bit generic to me. A Lot of the shooters lately have been feeling extremely similar to each other unlike past games. Warzone is a good mode, but only has three maps which can get repetitive.

I started playing halo when reach came out, and then went back and completed all of them, as far as campaigns go, if you go into it expecting a halo 2 kind of story, then you will be pretty pleased. The multiplayer is incredible, super simple with some new elements, classic halo feel to multi.

Halo 5 does a lot of new things, while retaining what works about the series. It's beautiful to look at and the multiplayer is expansive and varied. The lack of split-screen co-op is very disappointing, but the campaign is solid and the multiplayer will keep you coming back for weeks to come.

Campaign was pretty lackluster and played like an online match, ie you have 3 other squad mates you play with at ALL times. This allows the game to be played co-op or by yourself, though obviously AI controls your 3 other squad mates. The story isn't that great, and honestly if it didn't have Halo slapped on the cover I probably wouldn't have given it a chance. Multiplayer is considerably better than single player, and probably the reason why most people are going to buy this game. There is an insane amount of customization when it comes to your personalized spartan. I think there is somewhere around a 100 different armor outfits, plenty of choice in regards to helmets, and even you can change the color of your visor. You will have to unlock all this content through playing multiplayer though. Gameplay is fast and furious and is quite the treat. If the story had been better I could have seen giving this game a 5/5, but that isn't the case (which is reflected in my review of 4 stars out of 5).

Good, fun addition to the Halo storyline (with great emphasis on story and plot), but completed after only about 10 hours of play. There's still the multiplayer (which has some fun new variations), but for the price seems a bit expensive. Would be great if they added Destiny-like expansions!

Without spoilers the story is intriguing, full of both lore and an interesting way of telling 2 sides of a story. Graphics are great and very smooth with their 1080p native running on the xbox. Just goes to show that higher frames without sacrificing quality if quiet possible on the Xbox 1.

I have to say 343 Studios knocked one out of the park with this one.The gameplay and online multiplayer is on point in this one in my opinion. The story for the single player is good, but the ending is weak in my opinion. That is my only complaint with this game is the ending.Otherwise this is a fantastic game, just saying.

Master Chief's 5th game in the Halo franchise is the first new game on the Xbox one. The graphics are nice, the motion is fluid. Four player co-op returns to the campaign, but there is no split screen option. So long as you have XBL Gold, you'll enjoy playing this game with other people.

Fantastic gameplay and amazing graphics really set this game apart from previous entries. So far I have to agree with what many others have said in that it could be longer and feels like a setup for the next entry in the series. No major issues though and if you like other Halo games you'll probably like this one too.

The multiplayer is a lot of fun. The theory of warzone is great, using REQs to gain an advantage. Unfortunately lots of communication is required but most dont talk. Arena is pretty much your classic team slayer game types. Get used to the automatic weapons being more powerful now too.

sometime you get a shooter that is just a good multiplayer and sometimes you get a game with a good campaign but nothing outside the story. Halo 5 delivers a campaign worth going back to and new challenges in multiplayer world that brings you levels of strictly competitive play to "hey, I just want to blow stuff up"

If the multiplayer wasn't as fun as it is, I would have dropped this a star. The single player campaign is pretty bad story wise and in overall enjoyment, it's short and all over the place. The AI is pretty awful and I ignore them most of the time expect when they are really needed in legendary mode, but that would also bring the review down another star just reviewing that. The multiplayer is where the fun is at, slayer, swat, etc. the game is clean and crisp and once you get used to the play it's fun. The ranking systems still seems off but that might not matter to a lot of people. However, the req packs and warzone is not something I will generally play and it is a let down unless you have friends on. Another issue here is no co-op or multiplayer on the same system, no beuno.
