Excellent movie and historically accurate. I'm a history teacher and use this in conversations in my class. Came with a DVD Blu-ray and digital copy for 499 can't beat that!

The actors were great..the story theme..based on true life experience...good for family viewing... I highly reccommend this for all cultures..it is a history lesson type movie...

This movie should be a MUST for all high school students to view. I am taking my copy to my local high school in hopes of them incorporating it in their history lessons!

Little know story highlighting women who were instrumental in calculating, and developing the math necessary for first steps in space travel. Highly recommended.

It is a remarkable true story of brilliant women who were never truly credited for their intelligence and integrity because of race. They were forerunners in their fields.

One of the better movies I’ve seen in awhile. Made me think of how far we’ve come in realizing the gifts of every human despite color. And how woman can be pioneers of change.

This movie was very well made. It signifies empowerment for women. It demonstrates that women of color played a significant role in history. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

My wife and I had seen this movie in theaters when it first came out, when we saw it on sale we both agreed that we wanted to buy it so we could enjoy it again.

This movie was well done. It had actors and actresses that brought each character to life. A true story that had to be told at such a time as this.

This movie shows the dynamic of how all people need to build up and depend on each other. Without these women, we may not have achieved this great accomplishment.

"Hidden Figures" has become a mammoth box-office hit and it may be the best audience picture of 2016. It's only the second feature from young Brooklyn producer and director, Theodore Melfi, who two years previously had directed the Bill Murray-Melissa McCarthy comedy, "St. Vincent", a 2015 Golden Globe nominee. Based on the best-selling non-fiction book by Margo Lee Shetterly, "Hidden Figures" tells the incredibly true if previously little-known story of how three black women mathematicians working for the US Space Program at the Langley Research Center in Virginia became essential in launching John Glenn into orbit. What makes this topnotch entertainment is how the screenplay easily injects humor and emotion into the drama set in a significant cultural time, as well as the performances by the three women: Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe, with Henson as the standout playing Katherine G. Johnson, a woman who was a veritable genius in calculating Glenn's flight trajectories. An added plus is that Kevin Costner, playing the director of the Space Task Group, is the best he's been in years. Though sometimes reminiscent of the great 1983 Philip Kaufman film, "The Right Stuff", this film's focus is centered more on the events occurring during the civil rights era when the African-American workers couldn't even use the same rest rooms as the whites. While not a work of cinema art, this is a film most audiences will take to their hearts. Highly recommended to all, but most especially to the older viewers who dust off their cardigan jackets and get out to the movies only once a year.
