Initially ordered U7H on sale then decided to upgrade to the new U8K as big computer monitor & personal TV. Very happy with picture & sound quality. I have a really big desk so 55 was just the right size. The high brightness overcomes glare from big windows behind my back. 4K HDR content literally leap off the screen. I am re-streaming Netflix content I had watched before and greatly enjoying the details I had missed. Using a computer monitor I don't do much gaming but the extra speakers make the 55 work well as a personal TV without a sound bar.

As Samsung, LG, and Sony focus more and more on OLED TV's, they are neglecting their LED/LCD lineups. Hisense and TCL have made great strides to step in and take up the slack. I chose Hisense because I needed a smaller TV for my bedroom and a larger one in my living room. The 55" and 75" Hisense U8K fit the bill perfectly for me. I was blown away by the picture, sound, and brightness quality. Coming from the 49" and 65" 4K LG Nano series was like night and day. The blooming was horrendous on those TV's. Also the brightness especially in darker scenes was downright disappointing. The loudness of sound on these TV's was so bad, we had to turn them up to at least 80 to properly hear them. Whereas the Hisense U8K TV's practically have no blooming whatsoever, the color schemes seem to have more pop to them, dark scenes can actually be seen now, and the sound and volume from them are quite good. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive TV, concerned about burn in, and want near OLED quality with a decent built in sound system, then I believe the Hisense U8K is your best buy.

I am blown away by the quality of this TV! I wanted top technology so I could get the best performance and this TV gives me just that! I watch a ton of movies so film maker mode is excellent. I also game so having a 144Hz refresh rate make the gaming experience unreal. Comparing to others, this has a lot of the same important technology like mini LED and the price tag was much lower, so with that value, it was an easy choice. Can't recommend this TV enough!

Alright, so I just upgraded to this 55-inch TV, and I’m seriously blown away. If you’re even thinking about getting a new TV, stop what you’re doing and just grab this one. Trust me, it’s perfect for gaming, movies, and everything else you can throw at it.
First off, the picture quality is straight-up insane. The 4K resolution and HDR make everything look ridiculously good. The colors are super vibrant, the blacks are deep, and the contrast is spot-on. When I’m gaming, it’s like I’m right there in the action—every little detail is clear, and the motion is super smooth with its 144 Hz refresh rate. Whether I’m playing a cozy game or playing Overwatch 2, this TV keeps up no problem.
I use an Apple TV for all my streaming, so I haven’t even touched the built-in smart features, but honestly, that doesn’t bother me at all. The picture quality alone makes this TV worth every penny.
As for sound, I’m running everything through my Sonos system, and let me tell you, the picture quality matches the sound quality perfectly. It’s an epic combo. The visuals are so crisp and immersive that they’re totally on par with the rich, detailed sound I’m getting from my Sonos setup.
Design-wise, it’s sleek and modern with those thin bezels that make the screen feel even bigger.
Bottom line: This TV is a total game-changer, especially if you’re a gamer like me. Whether you’re gaming, streaming, or just watching movies, it absolutely delivers. I’m stoked with this thing, and I know you will be too. Do yourself a favor and grab it—you won’t regret it!

Wow! Gaming on this tv is just ridiculous. Hisense knocked it out the park with this tv. Connect my Ps5 on this bad boy and I’m gaming at 4k 119fps with not lag or stutter. 650 local dimming zones makes the blacks and the reds pop. Built in subwoofer is a plus. Too many thing to list about this set. Grab this set while it’s on sale. Much better than my LG Oled for the fraction of the price. HDMI 3 is earc Hdmi2.1 144hz and hdmi 4 is 144hz

Incredible visuals, black levels, and brightness for the price. Was surprised by the sound quality, especially the impressive bass for in built speakers.
Not a huge fan of Google TV, compared to Roku. Too many updates, unresponsive apps, had to factory reset multiple times just to get a few of the streaming apps to work properly.

I have never bothered to look at the TCL or Hi Sense for reasons I won't get into here, but I'm glad I did for this TV. You can set it up with the smart functions OR if you just want a good gaming monitor replacement, like me, then you can do Basic Setup. I connected via ethernet disconnected from my home network to download the latest firmware, but am otherwise using my Roku Soundbar for my content and network connection. There is a hardware microphone on the bottom of the TV with an on/off switch. It is unclear from the manual or online reviews if there is a built-in camera. If you do connect it to your network there do appear to be a number of options to reduce the amount of tracking.
All of the important functions like FreeSync and the 144Hz refresh work without being connected to your network. The television has exceeded my expectations for a monitor replacement, and I'm sure it will for you too. Hooked up to my PC with AMD 7600X and Radeon 6800XT, really glad it came with the FreeSync feature. I almost found the image too bright, and that's a good thing. That was my main attraction, especially at the price point I got it at.
The unit itself is heavier than your typical flat screen TV, or at least the ones I'm used to. It feels very sturdy, in a good way. The longer legs might allow for it to be more stable on a skinnier shelf if your space is limited. They are made of steel, I believe. Definitely not plastic.
It has 2 HDMI rated for 4K@144Hz and 2 for 4K@60Hz. It is clearly labeled by the ports on the unit itself. Make sure you have an HDMI able capable of putting out 4K@144Hz. Also make sure you adjust your Refresh rate in Advanced Display Settings in the Display menu for Windows.
When you connect it via PC it has a neat little HUD overlay popup to adjust settings like FPS, HDR, VRR, FreeSync, and other normal monitor settings like picture size & screen position. AMD Adrenaline recognized it as a display to enable VRR. It also has an FPS counter.
Can't really comment to sound as I have it hooked up to my sound bar and frankly I'm not going to bother testing the TV speaker, so I'm giving it 4 stars as a compromise.
Bottom line, for me, this exceeds expectations.

This TV probably has the best or nearly the best picture quality that isn't an OLED panel. It is probably a close call between this and the TCL QM8. It is VERY bright. Advertised at 1500 nits but often actually gets closer to 2100 nits. Has 672 dimming zones in the 55" which makes the black levels superb. Colors are super accurate out of the box. The speakers are the best TV speakers I have ever heard. It rivals even some mid level sound bars. It has 5 total speakers, 2 bottom firing, 2 side firing and 1 rear subwoofer.
The reason I am docking a star is because of the game mode issues. Whenever I play my PS4 or PS5 it randomly cuts in and out of a black screen. I have not found a solution for this that does not compromise quality and as such I cannot recommend it for anyone who will be playing video games and want top quality 120hz 4k gaming. I would think it was an issue with just mine, but all over reddit everyone is having this same issue. And the only fix so far is to lower the quality or change the hdmi spec, which lowers quality too.

Impressive tv, with this amount of dimming zones, it truly has OLED like blacks. No blooming on black bars at all. Colors are bright and accurate, although HDR10+ content is occasionally dimmer than I would like in a bright room. Still brighter than all but the newest and brightest oleds, but those are triple the price. No issue with Dolby Vision, SDR, or dark room viewing.
With a Nintendo switch, I get some audio stutter issues when using surround through EARC, but that could be a problem with the switch or the soundbar. Just something to keep an eye on.
The interface is generally pretty good. Somewhat bloated with ads, but everything launches quickly and Google assistant works well for finding content across services. Just don't expect apple tv 4k levels of snappiness.

Bright, vibrant colors, deep blacks, virtually no blooming - rivals an OLED TV display. Easy setup altough I would have liked stands as used in previous models mounted closer to the center. Goggle Andoid TV is easy to use and the menus provide settings to every aspect of the TV's picture, sound, audio, networking, etc, Bought it rather than the TCL QM8.

Amazing TV for the price. I love how it performs for my Xbox Series X and PS5. Games look amazing with the 120hz panel. Input lag when gaming in 120hz mode is amazing. Watching movies is also very satisfying as well although I mostly stick to gaming. Build quality so far has been great, no issues this for although I did purchase the tv with a 5 year protection plan just incase. This is my first Hisense tv and so far I’m genuinely impressed. Coming from LG and Samsung TVs around the same price point, I truly believe this is the best option at this price. Hard to beat.

Blooming? Non existent 90 percent of the time. Picture Quality ? Very good no visual artifacts, no posterization, no weird anomilies. WARNING!! CHECK for DSE because it cane be BADDD on grey screens / grey uniformity.Motion? DECENT If youre sensitive to motion just know its Decent but not great and not bad. Gaming? 2.1 hdmi 120 FPS at FULL 4k NOT halving resolution like previous models. Offers freesync as well. Just a heads up if you want to use this tv as a monitor and have a Nividia graphics card it WILL give you issues.

NOTE: TV goes black frequently, turn off Auto Power in the settings to fix this.
The viewing angle is kind of bad compared too my old Vizio I replaced. But that's how these type of TVs work. Other than that the picture is amazing from normal viewing angles. Our old TV had bad sound, this thing sounds great. It has 5 built in speakers, one being a subwoofer. For some reason Hisense has an auto power setting enabled by default where the TV goes black for a few seconds, then resumes. It did it about every 10 minutes which was super annoying. Why would they have this on by default? Anyway after some Googling I found you can disable this. Some comments here are pointing out this "feature" as a bug. I can imagine a lot of people return these TVs thinking it's a defect. I'll have to take one star away for the initial frustration of buying a TV that goes black frequently, luckily it can be disabled.

Hands down the brightest TV I’ve ever owned. The picture really pops when streaming shows and movies. The blacks are surprisingly good as well and the overall brightness that most OLED TVs lack combined with the mini-LED in this set gives OLED a very good run for the money especially since it is more affordable than an OLED. - and oh by the way the inboard sound is actually good you don’t require a sound bar unlike it being practically a requirement when purchasing other TVs. Would potentially buy another one of these TVs for another room in my house one day. Two thumbs up!

Obviously this is a great-looking TV—4K Quantim Dot LED screens from any of the name-brand manufacturers are all pretty fantastic, if not quite OLED-tier—but the sheer number of gaming features you get for such a reasonable price really set this one apart from the others. 2 of 4 HDMI ports can do up to 144Hz refresh and give you access to a head’s up “gaming bar” that’ll display and let you toggle various gaming-friendly features on the fly: VRR, ALLM, FreeSync, etc. I can only speak as an XBox (Series X) owner, but this TV feels like it was practically made for console gaming (though it handles my PC just as well). The other features are all nice—the Google OS is adequate in that its light years ahead of the Fire OS I had before; the built-in 2.1.2 Atmos-capable speakers are nice, but really only work on their own in the smallest of spaces—but this is a stand-out screen for gaming.

I bought this for my PC gaming setup. I play driving sims, flight sims, and space sims. 144hz is amazing on a screen this big (bought the 55”). Verry low lag, i camt feel it at all even when playing a fast paced fps. The brightness adds to the immersion so much its crazy! If youre looking for a good gaming tv, get this!
TL;DR
144hz
Verry low input lag
Bright as heck

The picture on this set is truly marvelous for the price! Its blacks are comparable to my older Samsung Plasma TV that I still use as my bedroom set, which is a bonus! And boy, is it BRIGHT!!! If you love a set that has vibrant colors, or one that you can watch in brightly lit rooms, this set will more than satisfy you! And like I said previously, the fact that it also produces blacks that rival Plasma and OLED sets is icing on the cake. An INCREDIBLE value for a $800 TV!

If you really don't want to part with OLED money, this mini LED is for you. Bright screen, deep blacks and a narrow bezel. I can't speak to the speakers/sub-woofer, but the picture is really good. This replaced a plasma and I struggle to tell the difference. Except, of course, when I watch 4K content. The software seems stable and snappy. Very happy with my purchase.
