Hisense has been a Chinese electronic manufacturing company since 1994, but has dominated homes through China. In fact, as of today, Hisense owns the largest market share in China since 2004! Sure, the brand isn't as well known in the United States, but with TV technology being more and more inclusive, I'm sure Hisense will begin to gain popularity soon. We ordered this TV for our kid's entertainment room, which previously had a lower budget projector in it. In our main living room area, we own an OLED, which is the bar every TV wants to get to in regards to picture quality. I admit, that I judged the Hisense quality before setting it up, believing it to be obviously inferior to the majority of other options - but boy was I wrong. What separates Hisense from other companies that are more well known in the U.S., like LG, Samsung or Sony, for example, is the absolute value you get. This QD7 Series isn't necessarily a "high end OLED offering" from Hisense, but it's a VERY medium-range capable LED with bright colors and outstanding contrast that will only cost you a fraction of what a lot of other TVs cost. The HDR 10+ and Dolby Vision work well and it's gaming capabilities hold strong with 144hz refresh rate. There is also QLED Quantum Dot Color, 4K AI Upscaler, Motion Rate 240, Game Enhancement 240 to add to the features of this direct lit 4K TV. It also comes with the usual onboard apps (Netflix, Prime, Hulu, etc.) and uses the very clean Google TV UI. All of these features and specs for $499.99 (current price). That's amazing, really, when you see how bright the colors are. With four HDMI 2.1 capable inputs, you won't have any trouble hooking up multiple consoles, TV boxes or your gaming PC, if you have one. I appreciate TV manufacturers giving more than the typical two HDMI outlets, when we live in a world now where there are multiple devices that we can plug in. HDMI 1 gives you eARC as well. After completing the set-up and hooking up a soundbar to the TV, we had no issues with picture, audio or anything else. I enjoyed going through the settings and exploring the many options we had - especially when it comes to the A.I. features, which will automatically change the picture by the lighting in the room or what is being displayed on the screen. PROS: * Value is incredible - the features, picture quality to price ratio is excellent * Excellent color separation, contrast and pop * Set-up was simple * Four HDMI inputs for all your gaming/entertainment needs * Small bezels which present an engaging large screen * A.I. upscaler and lighting features are implemented well and do not distract while watching * Voice-controlled remote * Google TV UI is the cleanest I've used CONS: * cheaper feeling remote * TV speakers are underwhelming (but the majority of TV speakers are) This is our first Hisense TV, so time will tell how it will hold up. TVs used to last at least 10 years, but we live in a technological river of newness, and most of us chase the next best thing, so keeping a TV for 10 years is rare these days, but I hope this will at least last 5.

    Great Bang for Buck TV

Hisense has released their 2024 QD7 TVs which are a great follow-up to their previous line. They come in 65, 75, and 85 inches. The box includes TV, 2 base stands with 4 mounting screws, spacers for mounting, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, power cord, quick setup guide/paperwork. The TV comes with a manufacturer's 2-year warranty. Disclaimer: I am reviewing the 65-inch QD7 model (65QD7N) PROS: ----------- * Putting the base stands onto the TV bottom was simple. They can only go on one way, so you can't mess up or get them backwards. * Initial setup was simple with the IR/BT remote. During setup, the remote is actually bluetoothed (paired) with the TV. * I like that this TV has multiple options for AUDIO OUTPUT - 3.5mm headphone jack, optical, & eARC though the 3.5mm option isn't really mentioned anywhere online. * When using the Google Assistant (mic button) to search for apps, TV shows, and movies, this typically worked like a charm. It's very easy to get where you need to go simply by using the mic button. * The QLED 4K picture is very colorful and ultra-clear with a screen that combats moderate glare. The 4K picture looks really great and the high refresh rate keeps scenes moving smoothly, including when playing video games (up to 144Hz). Note that HDMI1-2 are 60Hz and HDMI3-4 are 144Hz. * The HDR & Dolby Vision formats this TV can handle are abundant. The blacks looks great, and overall color gamut is quite good. * 4 HDMI inputs with one of those using eARC is enough for most people. Wifi and Ethernet ports are available for smart connections. I use ethernet when possible due to wired signal stability and have had no issues. Two USB 2.0 ports are available that can provide power to other low-power devices if needed. One is 5V/1A and the other is 5V/0.5A. * TV can be wall-mounted (VESA 300x400). There is no mounting hardware provided other than a couple of spacers if needed. * Quick buttons on the remote to open specific apps - Netflix, Prime, YouTube, Disney+, tubi, and an APPS button to bring up all apps. Other basic remote functions are also available including an INPUT button to switch between HDMI sources and the Smart functions. * The frameless screen gives a good modern touch to the TV. There is still about a 1/2-inch black border around the screen itself. * The TV is not incredibly heavy weighing in at ~34 lbs. * The microphone function works great when bringing up apps or shows; however, I did rename HDMI1 to "Dish" and I still had to switch to that input by saying "HDMI1" instead of "Dish". Google did not know what Dish was even though the input was renamed that. * The 4K AI Upscaler did a pretty good job at improving the picture of some older movies I tested. And actual 4K content was very spectacular. CONS: ----------- * As with most TVs, it is highly recommended to use a sound bar or sound system of some kind. The sound on this TV is acceptable at a standard 20W; however, still not great... If the volume gets too loud, the chassis tends to vibrate with certain sound frequencies. * When performing a search (for an app, for instance), when you are typing letters, there is no auto-filter feature WHILE typing. For example, if you are looking to install the "Paramount+" app and you start typing "Para", nothing appears on-screen until you hit the SEARCH button. This is a basic function on most smart TV devices that should have been implemented here. This is a big miss. Also, when I searched for "DTV", the suggestion for "DirecTV" did not come up which is strange. I had to actually type "Direc..." and hit search for DirecTV to show up in the apps section. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: ----------- * The remote is very light, has a decent feel, and functions well for the most part. Placement of buttons are in good spots for muscle memory. * The power is indicated by a white power light on the front. The button is located under the power light area and can also be turned OFF in the TV settings if the white power light is distracting when viewing the TV in low-light environments. * I used eARC for audio and had no issues. I paired some BT headphones to the TV and they worked great with no audio/video delays. * The IR sensor is located in the bottom/middle of the TV, so if you have a speaker bar that blocks this sensor, you may have issues with, for example, another remote that is paired with this TV but only uses IR instead of BT. If that's the case, you may have to provide some height under the legs so the IR sensor will not be behind your speaker bar. * TV was packed nicely in the box and was not difficult to remove though 2 people may be preferred for initial unpacking. CONCLUSION: ===================== Overall, this TV is a great cheaper option than some of the other manufacturers. The picture itself is fine along with the abundance of popular apps available in the Google Store. All Dolby audio options are available along with 3.5mm which is a plus. All-in-all, a solid TV and a great bang for your buck at this price point. I would absolutely recommend AND buy again.

Amazing TV for gaming consoles and movie watching

I've had this TV set up in the bedroom for almost a week now and I have to say that this is one of the best TV's I've ever owned. You get a ton of value and features for your money with this Hisense TV. it is 65" it has 4 HDMI inputs.. 2 of which are HDMI 2.1 so they will take full advantage of your PS5, or Xbox Series X and you'll be able to game at 4k , 120hz. Which is so cool that this TV has this function at this price point. The tv is actually capable of outputting 144hz, but your console will cap at 120hz. If you have a PC , you'll be able to take advantage of the full refresh rate. It also has 20 watt speakers in it which (to my ears) sound fantastic. They are loud, sound full and actually have a little bit of bass. They sound great when Im watching movies and playing my video game consoles. The display is QLED technology, which means you will get amazing contrast, and vibrant colors. My unit has a little bit of light bleed at the top and bottom, but it looks worse in the photos I have shared than it does in person. The tv weighs about 33 lbs ( really lightweight for its size) and it has really cool and convenient handles in the back to help you life and carry the tv to mount or put on a stand. I highly recommend this TV if you are on a budget and would like a good TV for gaming. It supports variable refresh rate in " game mode pro" it is compatible with AMD freesync and has auto low latency mode when gaming. I don't have the tools to measure the exact response time, but it feels really good to me. If I had to guess I would say that it has to be under 15ms. It almost feels as snappy as my monitor. Hisense has knocked it out of the park with this TV and I honestly cannot think of a better value for a 65" TV. I love it, and if you are a budget baller, I think you will love this TV as well.

I'm not sure you can find another 65" TV with all these features for under $500. It has QLED, HDR, and a 144 refresh rate, and the sound was much better than expected (Dolby Atmos is so good that I can barely tell the difference from my old bulky surround sound setup). The TV was easy to set up, and the picture is amazing.

So far awesome TV. But made sure I did my research before I got this. I picked it because of the higher refresh rate than others of similar price range. We will see how it holds up over time, but I'm very happy right now!

Last years U7N is much better. I’d save or for the higher end model, but for a budget qled with 120hz active it isn’t a bad display, Hisense just has better options for not much more that are much better for the overall viewing experience, if you’re grabbing it on sale for $350-$450 not a bad tv but I wouldn’t want to buy it for $500+
