I bought this to avoid traffic while taking my son to school, it worked. But in less than a month the back tire out of no where loss air. I tried to pump air and it'll leak, no nails or screws it just lost air. Insurance will only replace it ( the whole scooter not just the tire)and it only works once (insurance)so if u replace it u have to buy Insurance again. Manufacturer wont cover the tire. Also to pump air in the back tire it was horrible i dont know who designed it but its hard to do it. I ws always using it in eco mode so it wont go above 8mph. No i wasnt doing stunts or jumps nothing. I got store ceedit back and i ended up getting a different one unfortunately the other one i got Bestbuy doesnt offer insurance for it but the manufacturer said itll replace and fix anything. Lets hope it works.

The Hover-1 Jive electric scooter is a great little get around town ride that is very easy to use and fun to ride as well! Out of the box you only have to attach the handle bars to the scooter, which was a lot easier than a previous version of a Hover-1 scooter I own. Gave it a quick little charge to boost the battery and then I was off to the races. You just have to give one good kick to get things going and then you can use the throttle. The instant acceleration can be jarring for first time users, so be careful when using this for the first few times. The Jive comes with three different speed modes, Eco, Normal and Sport, whereas I was able to go 8mph, 10-12mph and 12-14mph respectively. I like the addition of the cruise control where you just hold down the throttle for about 8 seconds and then it activates and you can let go of it, and to turn it off you just touch the throttle again or use the brake handle. The disc brake is pretty good too, although there's only one on the rear. Overall design is solid, but the image of the RGB deck is misleading, as you can switch between like 5 colors, and a rainbow was not one of them. I would have liked to see an option to have the headlight on and not have the deck on as well. I like how the folding mechanism is reinforced this go-around and weighing in at only 27 pounds it's pretty convenient to take with you in a car or on the bus. Battery life has been great and it charges pretty quickly. Functionally speaking I would recommend this electric scooter, but if you're able to spring a little more for a little higher-end model like the Highlander or Blackhawk with their removable batteries, then I would go for one of those.

Great scooter for night riding or anytime. Fast and easy to put together. I really like it and the battery last me all day for sure around town to go to work and back. I always has battery left unless I rode it all day. I really like it. Highly recommended

Out of the box, there's some assembly required. The handlebars have to be attached to the neck with the four supplied bolts. The two forward facing bolts took a few minutes due to having to do a half turn of the supplied hex wrench then remove it and reinsert to work around the wires. A hex end screwdriver would've made the job go faster. Once the handlebars were secured, all that remained to make the scooter ride ready was pumping up the tires and charging the battery. The instructions call for 340 KPa tire pressure (about 49 psi) and a pump is supplied for that. The valve on the rear tire must be exactly positioned parallel to the ground and facing forward for the pump nozzle to fit on the valve. The front tire valve didn't require exact positioning. The battery takes the full five hours to charge as indicated in the instructions. This scooter's construction is high quality, very sturdy and solid. The ride is smooth, the controls are easy to operate, and acceleration and braking are excellent. Getting the motor to engage takes one or two foot-pushes off the ground to get it started. When riding, the lights, which include headlight, taillight and decklight, can be on or off. All three are either on or off at the same time. The decklight is several different colored LED lights (red, green, blue, pink) which can be cycled through by turning the lights on/off to get to the desired color. I went on three different outings using a different power setting for each ride to see how they affected the mileage. Starting out at the high power setting that allows speeds of up to 16 mph, I was able to go 13.25 miles before the battery ran out. (I weigh 150 lbs.) I mostly ran it below 16 mph, in the 11-13 mph range using the cruise control feature. By holding the power button to maintain a steady speed for six seconds the cruise control turns on automatically to maintain the current speed. I could set cruise for any speed from 8 to 16 mph. It may be possible to cruise slower, but I did not try, as I found 8 mph the minimum I needed for comfortable control. There's a battery level indicator on the display but the scooter doesn't get equal mileage per marking. There are five lighted hash-marks when the battery is fully charged, but when it shows two hash-marks left, there's only about 15 to 20 percent of the charge remaining, not 40 percent. After recharging I went out another day riding on the medium power setting and got 13.7 miles before the battery ran out, this time cruising between 9 and 12 mph. (12 mph is maximum on the medium setting.) The third time I ran on the low (ECO) power setting and the mileage actually went down, to 11.5 miles. The low power max mph is 8, and I cruised on that for the entire time. Maybe the lower mileage was due to being able to coast some while going at faster speeds. At 8 mph there was no coasting, and the motor was constantly working to maintain that speed. Also, when I was done, I checked the tire pressure and found that the rear tire had gone down to 10 psi. That could also have accounted somewhat for the lower mileage. I came in with the expectation that I would get closer to the advertised up to 16 miles per charge than I did, especially since I did not use the lights when I was riding to check mileage. I was disappointed with the high of 13.7 miles but maybe my expectation was too high, and all things considered maybe 13.7 miles isn't bad. After all, one doesn't normally take long distance trips on a scooter and after finding the maximum distance for how I ride, I can adjust to avoid being stranded. I was torn between giving this scooter four or five stars. The pros are its quality of construction, good looks, ease of operation, acceleration and braking. Cons include the rear tire losing pressure in less than a week, mileage being somewhat less per charge than expected, and the battery is built in, it can't be replaced. In the end I didn't want to be too nit-picky. I repumped the tire and it's holding pressure, mileage once known is no issue, and the battery will probably outlast user interest in the scooter, so I gave it five stars.

I'd been looking for a companion scooter to go with my Highlander Pro to get a pair of us out and scooting about together. With this I feel like I've met the right answer to what I was looking for. To start, packaging is fairly straightforward, in the box the shaft and handlebars are disconnected from the unit with just the wires running through. You screw in a few screws and you're ready. They, of course, recommend you charge it up for 8 hours before you use it, but I couldn't resist, I tried it just a tiny bit before I plugged it in for a full charge. The look of the scooter is great, it has the similar look of all of the electric scooters that are currently available, but the foot pad having the built in LEDs really makes it stand out, especially in the dark. You can see this coming from a mile away. When compared to the Highlander Pro, also made by Hover-1 it says it is 1 mph slower, but you cant really tell. It's also VERY slightly smaller and has a lower range, but it's marketed at a different segment. I feel like for what they are aiming for, they hit the mark dead on. But how does it ride? It's really "just fun". I cant describe it any better. I grew up using self propelled scooters and enjoyed them of course, but when you're on this, even though it's only 14 mph, it feels fast, maybe because you're not pushing it yourself. You hop on, kick off, hit the accelerator, and off you go. Turn on some lights and it's like a 14 mph discoball for your feet. It's really enjoyable to ride on, compact once folded and easy to use. I really cant say enough about it. It may not have the removable battery of some of the others, but who cares. We really enjoy it.

I always enjoyed scooters as a kid. Just the old school ones powered by your Flintstone feet. Always made me feel like I was surfing when I could just put my feet up and coast for a bit. So with this guy, I don't need to worry about all that manual labor anymore! It's all coasting all the time! Setup/assembly was pretty easy. It's mostly just folded up. The rubber grommets that hold and seal the break/power lines were all popped out so I had to stick those back in. One of them had split on one side but after putting it back in place, you couldn't notice. I'm not sure if it'll be a problem in the future but I don't think it will be. It came with a full charge right out of the box so I was able to try it out right away. Controls are pretty simple but you have to get used to them a little bit. There's only a power button so everything is done by pressing the power button in various ways. Double press the power button after the scooter is on to change through the driving modes. Press and hold to turn on and off the scooter. Press once to turn on and off the lights. The only control I'm not fully use to yet is the cruise control. You need to push the throttle to get the scooter to go. And you need to hold the throttle to get it to keep going. And if you hold the throttle for more than 7 seconds, the scooter beeps and cruise control is active. I'm still getting used to taking my finger off the throttle at that point so when I want to stop or slow down, I usually need to lay off the throttle and then tap it again to turn off cruise. It's not a big deal and I'm conscience of it now. It's just a muscle memory thing. The scooter looks pretty nice too. The foot board looks almost dirty at first but it's just the frosted plastic for the lights to shine through. Everything looks pretty sleek. The display is nice and shows you your speed and the mode you're on and your battery level and it blends in with the rest of the handle bar assembly pretty nicely. I'm pushing close to the max advertised weight so I wasn't expecting to hit top speed or distance but it did pretty well. I didn't notice that the tires needed some more air until I rode it the first time. Even with deflated tires I was still getting around 11mph. It helped to top them off with the included air pump. The battery felt like it drained a lot quicker but not so much that I ever really worried about it on my short cruises. Overall, I haven't had a bike or scooter since I was a lot younger and this thing is pretty nice. I feel way too old for it but I'll get over that. Consider this one if you're looking for a nice scooter and this is in your budget.

This is my first personal electric scooter after riding Lime, Lyft, and others around the streets of downtown Los Angeles. This is a fun scooter, and it looks SHARP. The LED lights in the base are great, although I do wish more customization was possible like what is shown in the picture. For now the only thing I have figured out how to do is have a different solid color one at a time...perhaps there is something I am missing. I like that the scooter folds at the base of the handle, it makes it easier to carry and store, although it is not light. It's not excessively heavy, but you won't want to find yourself carrying it up too many flights of stair or up too big of a hill. PROS: Looks sweet. Good battery life. Excellent top speeds of 16 mph on level surfaces or downhill. Comfortable handles. Headlight. 3 different battery saving modes that limit top speed to 8, 12 or 16 mph. Good braking system. CONS: The 4 screws provided to put into the handles/front bar are frustratingly difficult to install. Also, the built in cruise control feature is really nice, but I like to have more control over my speed, so if I'mn not constantly adjusting my finger on the throttle, the cruise control automatically kicks in every 6 seconds. Perhaps I'll get used to it, but for the time being I find this frustrating. It is really hard to get the tires to the proper inflation pressure with the pump provided because when you unscrew the pump, too much air escapes every single time and you have to do it again. They should include a different pump with the scooter. Overall, I would recommend this scooter to someone looking for one, but BYOP...bring your own pump.

The Hover 1-Jive electric scooter is a great scooter and tons of fun! My 11yr old has been having an absolute blast with this scooter. The lights are super bright, build quality is great and setup is super simple. There are 4 screws you’ll need to fasten in order to install the steering column and that’s it. The hardest part is waiting for it to fully charge. We let ours charge up overnight and my daughter took it out the following day. She has been getting about 1.5 - 2 hours of “fun” time on the scooter before needing to recharge. At night, the scooter looks great! The LED platform and headlight are both super bright making visibility pretty good. Even in the daytime, you can’t miss the scooter with all the lighting! So far, we haven’t had any issues with the scooter, but it’s only been a few days. We have a hover board from the same brand that died for no reason so I guess time will tell. For now, the Hover 1-Jive has been a favorite with my kids and it has been a joy watching them zip around the neighborhood. If you’re looking for some outdoor fun, you should definitely consider this electric scooter. So much fun!

This Hover1 Jive electric scooter is fun to ride, I weigh 178lbs and it totes me around pretty easily. My 9 & 13 yr old sons love this thing. Ill probably end up buying one in the near future so they dont have to take turns riding it. This takes 4-5 hours to fully charge, which is quit a long time in kid time. But, the battery does last nearly 1 full hour in S mode hitting 16 mph. I like the handle bar folds for easy transport. This model has a headlight as well as a fully functioning brake light as well. Plus the deck lights up in 4 different colors red, green, blue and pink. I can see myself using this to go grab the kids when theyre down the street at a friends house when its time for dinner. This is super easy to use and set up, all functions of the scooter are simply controlled via one or multiple presses of the power button. This surprisingly has real disc brakes in the rear of the scooter and includes a hand operated air pump for the front and rear air filled tires. I definitely recommend giving this thing a try.

This is my first electric scooter and I’m really happy with this one. Size wise, it’s good for me. I’m 6’3, 200pds and this one suits me just fine. It’s good enough size for me and I have no issues riding this scooter. The ride is pretty good and smooth. There’s three different speed modes on this thing so you can limit how fast the scooter can go which is nice. Assembly was super easy. All you need to do is screw in 4 bolts to secure the handle bars. The lights on the scooter are ok. You get to choose from red, blue, green and pink. I wish there was a way to cycle the different colors easier as you have to push the power button to cycle the colors. The LED headlight comes on automatically whenever you turn on the board lights. Kinda wished there was some way to turn the headlight on by itself. There’s no security feature for this scooter so you can’t lock it or disable the scooter if it’s stolen. Overall though, great little scooter which will be sure to provide hours of fun for everyone.

The biggest thing to notice with this scooter is that it does not have very much power at all! Going up hill is not really much of an option. My wife weighs 150 lbs (well under the maximum weight limit), and she could barely get it to go around our block, due to the fact that my part of the country has hills (Colorado). Even gently sloping ground proved to cause this scooter to be very slow. I even got an "E0" error code, which presumably means that the motor is overheating (the manual does not mention that code). However, when you get it on level ground, it does quite well and has a good top speed. So, depending upon where you live, this might be a nice option. This scooter also has "cruise control" which kicks in when you hold the throttle in one spot for six seconds. Nice in theory, but only seems to work at max throttle. If you are trying to hold a slow speed (say, 3 MPH) to go the same speed as people that are walking, the cruise control never seems to kick in. Still, when it works it is a nice feature. The lights are also quite nice. There is a blinking tail light that comes in when you hit the brakes. One press of the power button turns on the headlight and the deck lights up in one of four colors, making you quite visible at night. One thing that is missing is some sort of loop to allow a lock to be attached. If you are using this for transportation, there is nothing to stop somebody from stealing it if you leave it outside. It is possible for a lock cable to go between the rear wheel and the frame, but only a narrow cable would fit. I also noticed that this unit is NOT advertised as being weather resistant. Therefore, you should only ride it during clear weather and avoid puddles. I also don't see any exposed bolts or nuts, so when the tires need to be replaced, I cannot comment on how easy or hard this repair might be. Finally, it uses a special charger. A USB-C supply could easily provide enough power to charge this thing, and they are available everywhere, inexpensive, and easily replaceable. Instead you get a giant charging brick that you had better not lose.
