Fun and easy to ride with go-kart combo

The Hover 1 Turbo Combo is great for beginners and older “beginners” like me who would find it more difficult to stand and balance on the hover board alone. The Go-Kart like frame and seat attachments come in very handy. It takes less than an hour to put it all together and you won’t regret it. All the parts, bolts, straps and tools are included along with easy to follow instructions. It was so much easier to ride it sitting down even though it may be a tad slower due to the extra weight. Charging took about 4 hours until the light turned green on the charger. My 8 year old nephew mastered the hoverboard alone rather quickly. The 5-year old brother is too young and not as courageous, so he prefers the go-kart option, much like I do. We all rode it on and off for about an hour cumulatively before the battery had to be recharged. I wish there was a way to turn off all the LED lights to save some battery power, but they are certainly fun to watch from all angles and help from a safety/visibility perspective. All in all, this is a fun starter hover board with the added advantage of the Go-kart kit at a reasonable price. Too bad the warranty is only 90-days, hope the fun lasts a lot longer than that.

This is the way to get a Hover board, although it takes some time to figure out and to put together, once the first has been accomplished there is nothing but fun to come, the best thing about this set up is that you get the go kart experience without having to spend the money, and yes, maybe 7mph is a bit low speed considering some of the other options out there but honestly it is not a deal breaker because it still feels and looks way faster.
Starting with the set up, it is very simple only has four steps to get the kart part set up, the handles (one to each side of the chair) that control the direction and speed you will be going at, the front wheel extension and the back rest. The back rest as well as the front wheel extension come with an easy bolt to screw in that does not even require the use of a tool, the side handle bars do require the use of an Allen that is provided for you in the box. Once you do that, all is left is to place the go kart kit on the hover board and secure it.
With the Velcro straps provided, at first it felt that Velcro would not be so safe or sturdy but believe me it does an extremely good job on keeping the go kart kit secure on the board, these are some heavy-duty straps. The hover board has led lights that are something else, not only on the board but on the wheels as well, both on the outside (around the rubber part) as well as on the inside definitely worth the price tag over all, the one con is that the rubber cap that protects the charging port came off (broke) almost as soon as we tried to open it to charge the unit, it still fits on the port and we were able to put it on but it is no longer attached to the board and I worry it will eventually just fall off leaving the charging port exposed to elements , but other than that it has been a great experience.

Fun Go Kart Kit

The Hover-1 Turbo Combo kit is all you need to have a fun go kart experience. When I first saw that this was a thing I was really excited and so were my kids.
Honestly I am terrified of the idea of getting on a hoverboard and I’ve tried more than a few times without ever getting the hang of it and just giving up. So when I saw that the Hover 1 has a kit including the hoverboard itself I had to try it.
The kit includes the hoverboard itself, and five pieces which include the seat, left and right handles, back rest and the front assembly. It literally took me less than 10 minutes to assemble those parts together. Next you’ll attach the assembled go kart seat to the hoverboard it self which attaches with the included Velcro straps ( more about these straps later). That probably took an additional 5-10 minutes. All in all I had a completed go kart in less than 30 minutes!
Now for the fun part. After charging up the Hover-1 Turbo Go Kart I was ready for a ride.
I was thoroughly impressed with how it handled. This thing is very zippy and smooth. Now I am an adult and weigh about 180 and this go kart can still haul. I had a blast riding around in my neighborhood and at the park with people constantly asking me what I was riding.
All that fun stuff aside I do have some minor concerns. Number one I did have to adjust the placement of the go kart seat onto the hoverboard pedals to get the right alignment after a couple of tries I had it to where I wanted. Number two the Velcro straps that actually connects the go kart seat to the hoverboard are pretty frayed after a few days of riding. The kit does include 2 sets but if you’re having an active summer and riding pretty often I can see you having to replace these often. Other than that this is a fun toy that can make great use of a hoverboard.

Hoverboard or Go-Kart, great control and lights

I found this to be a fun all-in-one package with a Hover-1 Turbo hoverboard and a Hover-1 Go-Kart attachment, great as a hoverboard or a Go-Kart!
Design
The Hover-1 Turbo has a great look to it, standard hoverboard really I guess but I think it looks clean none the less. When you see the lights, it looks amazing! This thing has more lights than some Christmas Trees! It looks great from the front and sides especially but there are just a lot of lights and many of them change color. You won't notice it as much in the sunlight but inside or in the dark the lights look great! The front wheel on the Go-Kart lights up too! It's made for a minimum weight rider of 44Lbs and maximum of 220Lbs. I'm 6 feet and 205Lbs and it works fine for me. The box lists the minimum age of 15 years. The box says it will go up to 7 MPH and up to 6 miles on a charge. The manual says it can take up to 5 hours to charge. It does take a while, 5 hours is probably right.
Learning to Ride
It took me a few minutes but I never fell on the ground and I was able to step on and off without a problem. It's definitely a little weird at first, I felt like I was going to fall. Once you get going, the control is excellent. I was maneuvering around the living room and dining room in no time. Even spinning around in a circle was very easy to do. When I'm riding it I feel like I perfect and complete control - at least on a smooth flat surface. I did use it outside too. I got it against a curb at one point and really scuffed up the side. I also found that, at least for me, small bumps can be hard to handle. I fell off more than once when I it a bump - stayed on my feet but I was off the board. It's great in smooth parking lot. You really don't want bumps and level is a bonus, though I didn't have issues with any hills I tried, though I didn't try many. The manual says it can handle up to a 10% grade.
Go-Kart
The Go-Kart is a great add-on since it eliminates any challenge of balancing and stepping on or off. While the seat is fairly minimal I found it to be adequate and even comfortable. I had no issues with the seat and the front extends out far enough for me to ride comfortably. The controls, using right and left handles that you push down or pull up, work very well and give good control. It does beep when you're at full speed. That's good because in that situation you want to slow down since you can't turn if one wheel can't go faster than the other, slowing is quick and easy though and just requires you to lift the two levers. A plus of the Go-Cart is it straps on in a way that would work with probably many or all hoverboards - it's not something that would only work on this one. The downside is the straps it uses are a bit of a pain to work with when putting it on or taking it off the hoverboard. Also, one time when I wasn't holding a handle of the Go-Cart and that side went down, the strap scrapped on the ground and ripped most of the way through. They do give you two extra straps so that's good. That's the only time I had one of the straps get damaged.
Safety
It would be a good idea to wear a helmet as well as knee and elbow pads for the hoverboard. I wouldn't say it's dangerous but it's like riding a powered skateboard. I found the Go-Kart much safer since it's not really possible to fall and, as with the hoverboard, the control is excellent. The Go-Kart does feel fast. I found it more fun to drive than I thought.
Overall
I think the package is a good value for the money. The hoverboard is fun and the Go-Kart makes it accessible to anyone who doesn't want to learn the balancing required. I would have liked to see a better attachment system to connect the Go-Kart to the Hover-1 Turbo but it works as is and I guess it kept the price down plus the Go-Kart could probably be used with many different hoverboards. And not only is the Hover-1 Turbo fun but it easily fits in any car so I look forward to taking it on a vacation to explore a little, at least on some smooth paths.

Hover One Turbo Combo is pretty cool with a go-cart add-on. It had a pretty easy assembly. The kiddos love the hoverboard function, but the go-kart function was quirky, in my opinion. Insecure with straps to the hoverboard, so that is not a sturdy ride. My grandson thought it should go much faster, but I thought it was decent for a kid. My unit arrived not charged up out of the box, but it charged quickly. At 7 miles an hour, that's plenty.
It is a pretty decent hoverboard on its own, but with the go-cart combo feature, It adds new fun. The led-lit wheels are very slick, and it looks like a space cruiser at night or late evening. And my grandson liked the back support. I could not ride myself. I am a big guy, so I took his word and smiling face that he was having a great time. It had everything you needed out-of-the-box charger assembly kit instructions. I think this will be a welcome addition to the fun time we're having over the summer vacation. It's perfect for beginners. The control function of the control arms is excellent. I will probably get the stand-up version next.
I would recommend this to all.

There are a lot of reviews out there that are extremely positive on the Hover-1 Turbo Combo, and lot that are totally negative. This is one of the few that’s in-between.
Starting at the beginning, assembly of the cart is simple enough, just a few bolts and some Velcro straps and you’re on your way. And that’s where it gets interesting.
From the size of the seat to the weight limit, it’s obvious that I’m not the target market for this. I’m 6’ tall, 175 lbs, and while I am comfortably under the weight limit it was obvious that I was creating some strain on it. While it moved quickly and cornered like, well, a go-kart, the battery did drain a bit faster than the claimed one hour expected battery life and I suspect that I did not see the six MPH top speed. It never felt like it was going to tip, but I didn’t ride it hard and it’s pretty easy to imagine a roll-over scenario if you pushed it at all. Oh, and those Velcro straps? They’re used to connect the Hover-1 to the go-kart. If you’ve ever used Velcro, you know how that works out over time, particularly in an area that’s prone to dust and dirt, which sitting just a few inches off the ground, these are.
Still, it was a blast to run around in on my driveway. Why didn’t I take it farther from home? Well, that’s one of the conundrums with this. The instructions say not to drive it on the road, and the go-kart sits so low that, even with the small flag that’s provided, cars are not likely to see you coming. That’s particularly true in a large city, like Los Angeles, where I live much of the time and all of the drivers are thinking about the best way to run the next light. Riding a bicycle in this city is scary enough, but on a bike or a scooter at least you have a tall presence and high-mounted lights. Even with a bike flag attached, I can’t imagine how to ride this safely on the street. Of course, in most places you cannot ride a conveyance, particularly a powered one, on the sidewalk. Maybe you could use a dedicated area, like a bike / pedestrian / scooter path. But then you have to get the unit to the path, and it’s pretty heavy and awkward to get in and out of your car – plus this kind of defeats the purpose of having a convenient electric conveyance for local run-abouts. Assuming you can find a way to use the GoKart where you live, you’ll have to lock it up and carry the board with you whenever you stop; the battery is rather heavy and, unlike a scooter it doesn't lock.
But, perhaps you have a place to use this, a place without cars and pedestrians, a place without dirt and grime, a place where you would feel safe. And perhaps you have a tolerance for being relying on Velcro straps to hold your transportation together and trust that you won't tip over. And if you have that place and that mindset, and you want to have some fun, then the Hover-1 Turbo Combo will provide it.

I was surprised how quickly the Hover 1 Turbo Combo took to put together. Everything that was needed to put together was included in the box in a nice and neat format. I was skeptical if I could learn how to ride it and was a little nervous to given my age and weight. I tried the hover board (by itself) first and was able to get the hang of it within no time! Putting it on the go-kart like frame to seconds and I was able to comfortably and confidently ride it sitting down. Fun to use and use it more often than I thought I would. Charging does not take long and seems to last a while. I use it daily to get the mail and to alleviate some every day stress that piles up after work. I have a two year old and one year old who love to sit in my lap as we ride down the street together. Very heavy duty hover board with cool LED lights on the wheels. Handle bars come in clutch as they help me balance when turning and going straight. Fun for all ages and sizes. Thinking about taking it to my next beach trip!

I will gladly admit that one of my main motivations for picking this up was to have something fun in my back pocket to pull out when visiting with my nephews. I've never really been a skateboarder, hoverboarder, scooter person, or followed any of the other conventional paths to hoverboard ownership. And as a raw beginner who probably has no business getting on a hoverboard without wearing a bear suit for protection, I found this combination to be a good starting point.
Build quality overall is somewhat of a mixed bag. The parts are all sturdy and look fairly good when put together, but there is a notable lack of attention being paid to fine details. One of the nuts welded into the shaft holding the go kart's steering handles was misaligned by about five degrees, requiring the use of some thread locker to secure the matching bolt to make sure it wouldn't work its way out as you used it. I also found that the adjustable crosspiece/footrest could have stood to be a bit longer, as if you fully extend it there isn't enough material left inside the frame to properly support it and the entire thing has a worrying amount of flex even without a rider. The hoverboard itself looks very impressive with plenty of lights and a glossy black finish, however right out of the box that finish was marred by some of the shrink wrap it shipped in which had melted into the glossy finish around the center. The glossy plastic is also quite fragile for something you'd expect to be taking outside all the time, and easily picks up scuffs and scratches during normal operation. And, as a final note, the plug meant to protect the charging cable was constantly falling out and was completely lost within the first day of having it. Everything seems to be fine mechanically at least, but I do feel like a more rugged case with a less revealing finish may have been a better choice.
The actual user experience, fortunately, was a bit better than initial impressions might have suggested. The Turbo hoverboard isn't the fastest or most hard riding option out there, but it's got plenty of power and a great deal of responsiveness. It took me a few hours of cautious experimentation before I was up and riding around on it, and while I've yet to get confident enough to try and get it up to full speed I was able to maneuver around the garage for about twenty minutes. I don't know if this is a typical experience but I found the hardest part of the whole thing was the initial process of getting up on to it, as once I stepped down on the first wheel the other one would often start running away with it. I did note that starting with the right foot seemed to produce better results, and seemed to match what a set of indicator lights were telling me to do, but there's nothing in the documentation saying that this is necessary so my guess would be that either the documentation could stand to be improved or I simply imagined the difference.
Fortunately, using it as a go-kart is also an option. It's still definitely a bit on the twitchy side, with the cart often trying to slowly run away without a rider, but there's much less of a learning curve and the third wheel makes it a lot easier to take full advantage of how nimble this thing is. I can't lie that I felt a little ridiculous zipping around the driveway at times, but the nephews certainly enjoyed seeing it and I can't say that I wasn't having fun either. It's certainly not a precise vehicle - I'm not sure I'd feel safe using it around cars or anything that might be damaged by me launching myself into it - but you feel like you're going much faster than the six miles per hour it's limited to.
While the issues with overall build quality and durability keep me from rating it higher, I do think that this is a good option for anyone looking for a low-cost go-kart or trying to hedge their bets in case they discover hoverboarding isn't for them. Though with the overall size and slightly twitchy nature of the steering I'd definitely recommend it more for slightly older children with enough common sense to know when not to gun it.

Too much fun! The whole package here is neat and very entertaining. Every member of our household loves playing around on the Hover-1 Turbo Combo board and kart.
Out of the box there is a bit of assembly that will take someone who is mechanically inclined about a half hour or so to assemble. Or someone who is not, maybe a bit longer but the task is not daunting. There were one or two areas that were harder than others. As well as a couple of bolts that made me question the engineered design principles. I had previously charged the unit for several hours prior to our engagement. Aside from the wheels most of the material is tuff and feels like it will last a while with the proper care and concern. The battery is good, and the life is subjective to the variables lobbied against the wear on the battery like the weight of the user, the course, or the inactive ride time where the lights remain. The unit claims it can run at seven miles per hour and travel in upwards of six miles. The simple math is that it will last about an hour all in. Our experience was significantly better thus my answer will have to be ambiguous. We were able to play around on it while doing yard work, grilling, and then again after eating all on the same charge one day. Then the next day my daughter just ran the mess out of it but was onto something else before she hit a solid hour of ride time. She is five foot four inches and might weigh one hundred pounds. I on the other hand, am six foot two inches and weigh right at two hundred and fifteen pounds. I run the battery down quickly. Especially on any inclined surface and then it just does not have the torque to sustain prolonged periods of uphill momentum. It did though with my much lighter weighted family members. The wheels are unfortunately cheaply made and will wear out or brake. I want to keep ours in the front part of the garage and even have plans to wet the plastic during nonuse times through periodic cleanings. My hope is that this adds life and not allow them to weather harsher than they otherwise would.
The Hover-1 board alone takes a bit of familiarizing the core movement it takes to power the unit along. My wife was an inline speed skater when she was younger, when I was younger I was into skateboarding, and our kids had previous experience. We were all able to pick it up without making a video meme out of the ordeal. That said, I did feel quite goofy hovering around on just the board. I liked the cart attachment more. The zero turn handles are easy to use and make downhill spins wicked. I am sure for safety you should not try it, lol. Back to the engineered design aspect the zero turn handles were tight at first but after a few uses, I recommend turning the unit off when parking or she might decide to drive away on you.
Final thought is that we love it and I feel confident you will too!

This just doesn't really need an introduction. The Hover-1 Turbo is a hoverboard with a go-kart attachment.
It was nicely packaged, but that wasn't what we cared about. We got to assembling it right away which was very simple. You typically assemble the go-kart attachment first and then attach it to the hoverboard via Velcro straps. The build quality of the attachment itself seemed fair. It did not feel like the attachment would snap in half any time soon. Attaching it to the hoverboard was a bit more concerning. I am not sure the Velcro straps were the greatest choice. The durability of the straps is definitely something to think about as even a few days of use has caused some wear-and-tear on the straps. I imagine you will have to replace them fairly frequently. A lot of adjustment is needed when you attach it to the hoverboard to find a comfortable sweet spot for you. The wheels also tended to wear down from riding on asphalt which was not ideal. I am not sure if there is a way to replace them.
You should be aware that the hoverboard is VERY sensitive. I am sure you have seen multiple videos of people falling, tripping, crashing into things. Seems common sense, but my suggestion is turning off the hoverboard when attaching the go-kart attachment. That way it doesn't speed away from you. I would also advise that you turn it on while you are on it. For some reason, I guess the pressure from the go-kart does activate the hoverboard to make it move. Once you are on it and the hoverboard is on, you should be ready for some serious fun.
I felt like a kid again as I zoomed down the street. The listed max speed is 7 MPH but it feels SO much faster when you're that low and close to the ground. The maximum operating range is 6 miles. To be honest, I think I was getting closer to 3-4. It may be because the max range wasn't thought to be for large grown dudes. Charging took around the advertised 4-5 hours.
All in all, the Hover-1 Turbo is a lot of fun. It makes everyone feel like a kid again and you get smiles from everyone as you zoom down the street. That being said, I would not recommend riding on roads. Cars just can't see you. There is a flag extension but I don't think that it would help. The long-term durability is also somewhat questionable when it comes to the wheels and straps. But for those who just want to have some fun, this is it.

This is one of the best modifications/add-ons for a hoverboard. The kids love it but I think I e joy it even more. The controls are basically like a zero turn tractor and the thing goes pretty fast and is a thrill. Took the kids about 10 minutes to get used to the sensitivity of the controls. Ut once they got it, the fight over who gets to use it. Tons of fun and easy to setup and install. I ended up attaching to a faster hoverboard and increased the fun. I do highly recommend a helmet because it's easy to get a bit crazy and out of control early on in the learning process. Only issue is that the adjustibility for child size didn't quite get small enough for my 6 year old son so I added a folded towel on the seat behind him. He is small for 6 but with the towel fits great and he gets sad when the battery runs out and we have to break for recharging. The storage space needed is not much more than the hoverboard itself and can be leaned up against a wall to minimize the footprint.

I opened up the Hover-1 Turbo Combo hoverboard with go-kart attachment and found it well packed. It does get a bit messy as the Styrofoam used tends to shed easily, but nothing a quick vacuum at the end couldn’t handle. I took all the pieces out and it’s pretty easy to assemble. The hoverboard is ready to be plugged in and charged with the supplied power pack and what looks like a proprietary plug. The cart has two knobs to attach the seat back and the leg extension, so that’s a no-brainer. Attaching the handles is straightforward, so really the only tough step is attaching the go-kart frame to the hoverboard. The frame uses Velcro straps through each side of each handle, and they wrap around the hoverboard, almost cradling it.
So, the hoverboard finished charging and I tried a few times to attach the frame to it, but loose, tight, or somewhere in between, the handles are very touchy. I found myself not being able to find a spot to just sit for a second. If I tried too hard, one wheel would start beeping, flashing and nothing seemed to stop it except to power it down. Mentioning the power button. I had to press it multiple times to get it to turn off, holding the kart from taking off without a rider. The manual has a drawing of how it should be assembled and I’m sure I’ve done it correctly, but I’ll continue to tinker with it. There must be a learning curve to riding and assembling this thing.
Now after that, what’s good about it. It’s fun. I’m 5’8 and close to 200lbs. and I fit on it no problem. I’m sure this is made for a teen, but even an old dude like me can enjoy it for a bit. The neighbors probably think I’m nuts, but they can go back to their porch swing and sit, lol! Also with the two knobs, the kart is easy to disassemble and store out of the way. Even assembled it doesn’t take up much space in the garage or spare room.
The specs say it takes 4.5 hours to charge and that sounds about right with my experience. It is quick even though the specs say it only does 7 mph. I’m not sure how long a charge lasts as the first charge is still good after my review ride.
My only question or concern is when the hoverboard wheels wear out, is it garbage or can I get new wheels to put on it? That will make a difference on what surfaces I chose to ride it on.
Lastly, I think I’m too old to ride just the hoverboard. I speed (quad) skated for many years in my youth, but with age, balance and hard falls aren’t as easy as they once were. I may give it a go, but those are the reasons I chose the go-kart over the scooter or just the hoverboard.

So full disclosure, I initially picked this up for my youngest daughter who wanted a hover board. My oldest has one, but my youngest was too nervous to try out the hover board on its own, so I thought a go kart type setup would work best for her.
Long story short, I think I've ridden this more than she has because it's just fun.
The nice thing about the kit is that it comes with everything you need in a single, well packaged box. Also, some of the assembly was already done regarding the handles and the brackets.
The challenge in putting this thing together was mostly due to trying to get the straps to connect without the handles rolling with the hover board. The brackets at the bottom of the arms actually rest on top of the hover board and use velcro straps to go underneath the hover board and secure it. I was a bit worried that the straps wouldn't be strong enough, but even after repeated rides, they were sill holding strong.
The go kart assembly is made of solid metal and feels really sturdy. Another nice feature of this is that you can use the go kart piece with other hover boards. So when we were charging the Hover-1 board up, we were able to also use this on my eldest daughter's hover board in the meantime.
The hover board itself is well built and pretty solid. The board itself has an estimated max distance of 6 miles on a single charge and, I believe, can go about 6-7mph at top speed. Honestly, when you're sitting on this and riding, it feels like you're going much faster, but that's part of the fun. I can say that I haven't tried to max out the battery distance, mainly because I don't want to walk 6 miles home trying to carry this thing.
The go kart itself also has a max weight of, I believe, 250 pounds... so being about 190 pounds myself, I felt comfortable riding this. My kids and I have enjoyed zipping around the neighborhood on this thing and our neighbor's kids have also ridden as well.

Since I got this Hover combo my nephew has been obsessed with it! He’s 12 and I feel like its a 10 and up kind of toy. It was pretty easy to set up, but I do recommend giving it a full charge first so you don’t run out too fast.
He probably played with it for about 2.5 hours before it completely died. It’s basically sitting on the ground so it’s important to use it in a quiet neighborhood or stick to the driveway. I’m 33 and I have it a try too. It moved around just as quick with me on it as it was with my nephew. It does take a minute to get the hang of it because it functions on tilting the hover part of it. It doesn’t take up much room in my garage. It does come apart for compact storage. I’m going to be keeping it here for him to use when ever he comes over.
It comes with everything you need in the box. No need to extra cables or anything like that. It’s max speed is perfect, and this thing turns on a dime. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for something fun to play with for your ‘inner child.”
