Perfect for my needs at a vacation home. The only thing that I don’t like is that does not have a lighted keyboard. But for the price point I can live with that.

Not bad if you can compromise on some things

I needed a cheap laptop for school that I could type documents on, watch YouTube videos, and listen to some music. I decided to spend under $300 and I skipped on getting a Windows laptop (Windows laptops at this price point are really bad). I settled on this Chromebook as it wasn't too expensive and it seemed to have decent specs. After using it for a while I can say both good and bad things about the device. The good starts with the keyboard, it responds to all of my key clicks, it has good travel, and it's pretty quiet. The speakers are also pretty loud (they sound ok, but defiantly better than what I was expecting), the battery life is also really good on it, and the trackpad isn't bad. Now onto the meh, I think that the processor holds this laptop back. When doing daily browsing it is a little slow and laggy (but usable), but when watching YouTube, the most you can do is 720P at 60FPS before things lag. 1080P video isn't something I'd do on this laptop. Now onto the bad, the screen gets bright, but the colors and viewing angles are pretty poor. For reading an article it's fine, but if you're watching videos or viewing photos, you'll see that the colors and viewing angles are pretty bad. On top of that, the webcam is pretty horrible. It's fine if you're doing a video call with very good lighting, but besides that, it's not something I'd really use. So in summary, if you're looking for a laptop for $250, I think this is a great product. However, if you can save some more money, I'd say get a higher end laptop. It'll last you longer and you won't have to compromise as much.

Middle row of keys were not working. Hard to return, no one has in stock to do exchange. No clue how to do an exchange via internet.
