My last laptop costed 1300$ back in 2012. Other than a dedicated gpu and blue ray player it is technologically dated. Although this is not a top of the line laptop, bear in mind that the build is not of a lot of aluminum parts. A lot of plastic used. The speakers are definitely awesome for it’s price range and surprisingly the touch screen has been convenient to have. All the specs and an AMD processor at 500$ makes this laptop a winner for almost all your needs. If you are looking for something to play demanding games, this is not it. This review is for people who want to spend 300, but you will be more satisfied overall if you bought this model.

I couldn't be happier. For the price this was the best pc I could find. Touch screen, 256GB ssd and 12GB memory. There's even a nice graphic card and this laptop does well for gaming!

I recently upgraded from a very slow laptop because i wanted to start streaming more and set up my twitch page. Compared to my old laptop, this laptop is very fast! The camera is good but in my opinion, it can be better. The 12gb ram does work really good. I've played League and Minecraft on it and it runs smoothly. When streaming on it, it's also pretty smooth. The sound is good. The laptop is pretty light and not heavy. The design is really nice and clean. Glad i purchased this item :)

It took my husband some time to get used to the touch screen and the speed - his laptop was over 10 years old!! He loves his new laptop now. Great price.

PROS: So far no problems with functionality, and the touch screen is nifty. The display is crisp and clear. CONS: The keyboard is loud and clangy, and somewhat difficult to type on. It's almost as if the keys aren't quite aligned to standard, and they're all a touch too sensitive. The headphone jack is in the absolute most inconvenient place imaginable: near the front of the right side right where you'd put your mousepad. It has an overall, cheap, flimsy feel to it. I can just tell it's not going to last.

HP 15.6" touchscreen which I absolutely love the capability to switch back and forth on a whim. Graphics we're even better than I expected even at an angle, quite impressive. Speakers for the system evven handles it's own. AMD Ryzen I am now a very big Fan of because of this laptop, really does outshine icore 5 . Easily handles three to four programs, tabs, and social media apps running at the same time, no lag, smooth consistent, and reliable. Lightweight, slick design, easily slide down in a bag or brief case in seconds. I truly loved everything about this HP, with the exception of No backlit keyboard. That was deal breaker for me, some won't mind a bit. Overall I would give this 4 starts, only shy of 5 because of the keyboard. Best Buy staff in store well I'm going to have to give them a big fat 0. Repeatedly I attempted to return and receive refund for the actual price I paid not what they were refunding me ($100.00 difference), because of digital download I didnt want to begin with, did not download and did return I am still being charged for something I didn't ask for to begin with. Not sure what is so hard to understand about that. Especially after I returned this laptop and purchased another for twice the price , paid in full. Hmmmm, make sense to anyone else why we she be charged for items we don't ask for or want ?

I wanted to play Starcraft II so I decided that I didn't need the latest, greatest gaming laptop, especially since the game is 8-10 years old. This laptop exceeded the recommended qualifications for that game, and many others that I want to play. My only complaint is that the HD is only 256GB. I would love to see something larger, but I won't complain that it's a solid-state drive. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this laptop to anyone looking to play older games, yet still have a machine that works for productivity as well.

This is a very nice laptop for students and also has enough processing power, memory, and speed for playing at the popular on-line gaming sites (Minecraft, Roblox, Gacha Life, etc). I got it on sale and it was an excellent value. My teen granddaughter loves it. I also trust HP as a brand as they are very good about automatically updating drivers and BIOS, even after the expiration of the warranty period. It's not a top-of-the-line laptop, but it doesn't come with a hefty price tag, either. I highly recommend it.

So far, this computer is a nice upgrade. I'm not used to having several hours of battery life. Maybe around four or five hours of streaming. And then close to seven if I'm just surfing or writing. My external HD transfers to and from at a nice and pretty zippy ~116 mbs. The Bluetooth has had a couple moments of weirdness, but seems mostly functional. Triple A games that are about half a decade old run really smoothly with medium settings. Loading times from games loaded onto the internal hard drive are incredibly quick. Maybe half a minute at the absolute most. No hard crashes, but some games have exited suddenly about twice in the past month. Video rendering at HD (1080) for a 20 minute piece takes about an hour. Tried running the Windows S, but turns out I use a lot of programs that don't exist on the Microsoft Store, (which doesn't have a good selection and a lot of very poorly rated applications) So that didn't work for very long. Another weird thing that happens, is that if I'm not running in the battery saver mode, periodically the system will go into hibernate mode from a heat warning. And usually only while I'm streaming video. (Though there have been other instances.) All in all, a pretty functional economy system. Very lightweight and useful.

I received this laptop within 3 days of ordering online after desperately needing a new laptop since I was working from home. It is very fast and easy to use and feel I got a good deal for all the features included on this laptop. My only complaint-the laptop shut down twice due to overheating. Come to find out, there is an important BIOS update that went out on HPs website back on 4/20 that I needed, hoping this solves the problem.

I bought this as an extra laptop for work as kids needed computers for school while I needed to work remotely. Once I removed the limits on downloading other apps the computer works great. (I needed to download my company's VPN in order to work remotely) I like the fact that this is also a touchscreen. Speed is good. I recommend using a mouse as I am not a fan of the trackpad in general. No issues so far in the first month.

Got this laptop for primarily today create lesson plans for my classroom and my daughter could play the Sims and Roblox. I’ve not had any problems thus far with it. The only thing I would say is the battery isn’t great for gaming... the two games drain the battery pretty quick. So I usually have my daughter keep it plugged in while playing. The touch screen is perfect for my 3 year old to play online toddler games!

Love this computer. Works great and responds quickly. I had to deactivate the safe mode in order to download the malware that best buy provided with this laptop and can't get a McAfee pop up to go away even though I Uninstalled mcafee. Other than that this computer is great especially for the price. It has more storage, faster processor, and a touch screen for the same price of others that have less specs.

Bought this for my daughter and it is lightning fast. I had to uninstall microsoft propriety lock to install chrome but other than that I am really pleased. She is a heavy gamer and the ryzen chip can handle anything though we are running at 500mps for our internet speed so that always helps. The laptop is ridiculously light and the bezel on the screen is ultra thin which makes it compact. The touchpad and screen are really responsive too. Price point of 500 bucks make it a steal.

I bought this computer for my son (he's 8), and it's been amazing. I was debating between getting this or a Chromebook and selected this instead. He video games from time to time and with already having a tablet, I didn't see any point in getting a Chromebook which would connect to the play store too and have the same games. When it comes to his school work, this definitely came out ahead for him. It's a nice machine at a decent price.

I looked at laptops for a while and this was the best deal out there. A similar laptop was at least $150 more. Definitely an improvement from the i3 -4gb ram machine my daughter was using. She is able to play her games and had no performance issues. She is young and plays kids games, but even those stalled on the other laptop. Laptop is fairly light for the price as well, touchscreen and going to 16gb from 12gb isn’t a significant cost increase. So far, so good!

Got this for my college freshman son. Very good starter unit, can handle all he needs to do on it. He loves the touchscreen, the 12GB RAM means there's nothing slowing down no matter what he's running. School is online so he's doing some music production and online gaming in his downtime. I took a small risk in buying this as open box but we have had no regrets. Unit did not come with a power supply but next day shipping with amazon and that problem was fixed.

This is a good computer for the price. I love that it is light weight and has a touch screen. I almost returned it because it is hard to see the letters and numbers on the light grey keyboard-they should be black not dark grey. I also did not realize it had Windows S but I was able to disable it. If it wasn't for the hard to see letters on the keyboard I would have given it a 5 star.
