I bought this on Black Friday and was impressed with it except for the 4GB memory. I got discouraged for a few days after seeing conflicting notes about the memory is fixed and soldered to the main board. Finally finding the correct take apart docs and exercising my old CompTIA A+ certification I took it apart and found there are two slots and upgraded to 12GB with ease. Plan to go to 16GB next. It will make a nice gift for family.

This laptop is very good. Speed surprised me. Multitasking is excellent. The size of the screen is perfect in comparison with similar notebooks. Ram memory is unusually good for models in this price range. The best equipped notebook I have ever but for its price. Would recommend it without doubt.

This HP computer died after less than two years of minimal use. Wrote some papers, checked email, and kept a budget spreadsheet. The only hard job it ever had to do was keep my phone backed up. The computer was slow from day 1. Windows 10 default web browsing with edge is horrible, and ran terribly slow in this machine. The Intel i5 professor is a joke. The only reason I even give this computer 2 stars, is that it had a 1TB hard drive, which of course is useless now. I have a 6 year old ASUS that still works thankfully that I’m going to have to revert back to. And at 6 years old still runs faster than this HP ever did. What a joke!

This computer is a fine entry level machine. It offers comfortable keying, good visuals, efficient speed. Having a built-in DVD/CD player was important to me, as was the large screen size. The only disappointment I feel is that you can't add additional memory to this machine. It is fine for basic purposes, but 4 GB of memory doesn't last as long as it used to, with as complicated as software is getting these days. Still, overall, a fine machine for the price. Functions well.

Performs good. Has a decent amount of storage only thing is that the keyboard is not backlit. Also very lightweight.

A lot of laptop for a very decent price and great storage

It is a decent computer for the price. Nice big screen. PC looks good. Nice keyboard. Cheap plastic used. It is not good for multitasking and RAM cannot be upgraded. One thing at a time is fine though. It is good for work. It does not cause frustration a lot. Battery does not last long. If you are looking for a big screen cheap computer to use at work, it is a good choice.

I bought this laptop as a Christmas gift for my wife. She is a real estate agent and has been using my daughters old laptop from college and it's just worn out. Her old one is heavy and some of the key board no longer works so this up grade will be a welcome surprise! The HP laptop is light weight, fast and has a bigger screen.

HP is a great and reliable brand. I have a desktop that has performed well. Screen size is great as well as processor. Only thing needed is more RAM which I'll add.

love it! I was initially concerned that 4g RAM may not be enough but it works great! 1TB Storage is also a big plus as is the large display screen! I Pay bills, on line shopping, videos and I can multitask using multiple windows with no problem! The only feature I wish it had is a backlit keyboard.

Mine is the 4GB ram model and it would benefit from more RAM which I understand is not easy to add. Apparently there is an additional open slot, but I've not yet confirmed that because it's my understanding, adding more RAM will void the warranty. Display is good but not great. Build quality is okay. I ran several Benchmark tests and this machine scores slightly above average compared to most laptops in this category. It does fairly well for most common tasks.

I have no complaints with this laptop. The graphics of the display are nice, and the laptop is a good size. Sure, it could have had more memory, but the 1 TB Hard Drive and the i5 processor sure are helpful.

I love how big the screen is and how much memory space it has. My only complaint is that 4GB RAM is not as fast as I would like, but for around $30 you can upgrade that easily. Also, the webcam is a complete potato, so if you need to use it a lot (like for interviews), I would suggest buying your own personal webcam (the plug in kind) for backup.

We purchased the laptop for use around the house - so we aren't tied down to a desk. Our son has enjoyed using it for his homework assignments. The keyboard is less than what I would expect. It doesn't seem very sturdy and durable. The laptop is lightweight and easy to navigate so it should serve us well.

The 1yr old generation i5 is still a great piece of gear and although 4GB of RAM seems low, you can upgrade to 8 for about 40$ or 16 for about 115$, which is nice. The TB of space is more than enough for regular home use. Really the only thing this pc wouldnt be great for is gaming.

I have had no problems so far. Speed is fairly qiick and the size is perfect.Not to heavy and functions well. Very happy

I can't stand the texture of it but I can deal with it by using a mouse, also no lights on the keys those are my issues but for the price it runs fast and it's good for work. I just need to figure out how to upgrade the memory and it will be worth it.

This PC runs great and everything. Screens is HUGE. My only problem is that it feels really cheap and plasticky. When you left or right click it makes a loud noise and feels cheap. Other than that it's a great PC for the price.
