I was not really looking for a new laptop when I found this one. I was just going to try and fix my present one. But was convinced that I could use a new/second laptop. I have always liked and trusted HP so that is a big reason I chose this one. As a photographer and graphic designer, the 17.3 inch screen is an excellent selling point.

This HP hit the spot! great screen, fast processor and all around good design... if you need a general home use laptop, this is the one... best feature... it has a DVD/CD combo drive... remember those :) Note, its a little heavier due to the screen size so if you want a lighter laptop, choose a smaller screen size...

I'm very happy with this laptop. High speed and lots of storage.

This laptop battery won't last 3 days while turned off. If you leave it in the case unplugged more than a day or two you have to charge it before you can use it. Otherwise it's a good computer.

I bought it because I was going back to school and my other computer is old and slow. I was not wanting to spend a lot money and knew I wanted another HP. I love this computer and it has been working great!

Easy set up, nice large screen, great price and easy to use

Bought this over a year ago and it works great. Good quality and excellent value. Very easy to use. Love the 17.3" screen as it is easy on the eyes. Take it in to the Geek Squad every 6 months for a tune-up that keeps it running to its maximum capacity. HP makes a good product.

I DID'D KNOW IF SHE WOULD LIKE THE 17'SCREEN BUT SHE LOVES IT.SHE USE HER LAPTOP ALL THE TIME A GREAT VALUE FOR THE COST. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN.

While I don't like Windows 10, this computer and EDGE were very easy to set up and learn to use. The large screen, higher quality speakers, DVD drive, and internet cable portal were selling points. (many lap tops are wifi only). The laptop has plenty of memory and speed for our day to day internet surfing and basic off line needs.

For the price you are getting a great little laptop, it has a large screen and enough power to play most of the current games available. It is an all around good machine, by no means is it a "gaming" computer but it is good for kids or for people who just want a good general purpose laptop.

I have had no problems I got it for a large screen and DVD/CD recorder. The screen is not as bright as I would like I'm use to a bright close phone screen. I would like to have a back lite on keyboard. I will probably get a mouse to make it easier to surf the internet.

My other was 15" HP and was 10 years old but was getting g slow and picture was fading. It served its time. It worked great and why change brands?? Just wanted one with larger screen and it works great.
