Bought this early in the day, unpacked and had it set up in an hour. Another hour was spent customizing Windows and installing software. All was very quick. The optical drive (see photo) is quite thin however, but was functionable. I must say though, is the wireless keyboard that came with it is great! It is weighted and feels quite solid (typing on it now). It is very quiet, and takes up less space than my previous desktop. Lastly, there are no photos of the back which I wanted to see, and it does have a line in, line out, and mic in, at the top which was a plus for me. I like it a lot, and would recommend.

Nice computer and very fast with the 10th generation I7 processor. Came with 16gb memory which also helps and can be upgraded. Office runs very well on it and menial tasks like internet surfing is a breeze. The Computer comes with 9 USB ports on it. The only disappointment I had was all the high-speed ones are on the front of the case. I use external high-speed drives and now need to string a cable to the front to access the High speed ports. All the USB 2.0 Type-A ports are on the back, oh well. See the picture of the system specs below.

Bought this HP Envy Desk Top, had problems working with the difference of Windows 8.1 and 10? Windows 10 seems more difficult then easier. PC did not run faster than than our older pc even with the 512 SSD extra hard drive. It is more quiet than our last pc, just don't hear it when it is on. The pc key board is refigured, so things are in a different location.

First time I brought it, it froze within 1 hr of me using it. Had to reboot. It had froze about 4 time within 1 day! I exchanged it for the same one. Take it home, used it the first day just fine, but next day had a blue screen stating something about the hard drive. Both times I called Geek squad and both times I was told to return it since it was within my 15 days. WORST BUY EVER! Now I got a Dell and not problems what do ever!

I purchased the HP ENVY and a HP 32f monitor back in November 2020 and am leaving this review about 6 months later…wanted to make sure I had adequate time put it to the test. I’m happy with it so far and find it to be a very stable machine with lots to offer. I use it for MS Office, surfing the internet, Zoom calls, making presentations and other all-around functions. I often have several windows and tabs open simultaneously and this computer handles that habit very well. I don’t do much gaming other than Minecraft and Among Us. My previous computer was an 8-year old Lenova Ideacentre that went through a 2nd hard drive crash within 1 year of each other…I was done with that machine. The footprint of the HP Envy’s tower is small…I’m able to have it on top of my desk. The computer is very quiet, other than the continuous very low hum of its cooling fan. Sometimes is makes electronic “chirps” or random quick “buzz” sounds when assessing freshly inserted USB memory sticks or opening certain files, but at least for now, this is infrequent. There is, however, an unusually long lag with the automatic opening of USB memory folders on the Desktop. I’m running Windows 10 and so far, the computer has not had any error messages or crashes – it did lock one time when left on overnight on a YouTube channel, but I think it seized due to Windows updates automatically occurring. I have not had to change the batteries in the wireless keyboard and mouse yet, which is something that I was concerned about…other wireless mouses that I had required changing the batteries every three months. If you are gaming, I recommend switching to a wired keyboard and mouse, since there is minor delay in the signal processing. Having a solid-state drive, it boots up extremely fast and opens files in its internal drives quickly. I recommend vacuuming the cooling air intake every few months since dust does collect on the side of the tower. Hewlett Packard did a good job of optimizing its components to function well with each other. Some have complained about the DVD being flimsy, but I’ve had no problems with it…I barely use it. I might look into upgrading to a dedicated sound card in the future.

so this review will be coming from me that has been using an i5 windows 7 system with 8GB for the past decade. to start, the first couple of weeks this thing is amazing. no issues at all. its crazy fast. and with 16GB of memory and an i7 processor i was expecting nothing short of amazing. its fast, and oh yeah. its amazingly fast. it can handle alot of chrome tabs. easily handle 30 tabs or more open. starts up fast. shuts down fast. love the wireless keyboard and mouse. slim slick design. love the small size of the system box. love how it comes with 2 video outputs for dual monitors. its an awesome buy for an upgrade. ive always been a fan of HP and this makes me happy that im still a fan. that price was great to for what you get.

This desktop PC is pretty much typical for HP. I have had a number of HPs over the years and have had very good luck with them (until I upgraded my 2013 model from Windows 8 to Windows 10, which brought both my HP and I to our knees!) This PC has more USB ports than I can ever imagine using. A major plus! It’s handsome and both the wireless mouse and keyboard are substantial and feel very comfortable. The keyboard, while not adjustable for height, has rubber strips on the bottom that sit flat on my desk and completely resist sliding like my last one. I really like that new secure feeling. It makes a big difference in my typing speed. I don’t like the CD/DVD drive location and orientation AT ALL. It is a major source of continuing irritation and is a major factor in downgrading this PC from 5 stars to only 4! My negatives for the disc drive are: 1- It is mounted vertically. Gravity is not my friend here. My last HP has a horizontal drawer that I can just lay the disc on while trying to locate the spindle and center it. 2- The spindle is nearly flush with the tray so finding the hole, which gets covered by the disc, is difficult, especially in poor lighting. Do I have to install a separate light just for that? 3- My beautiful oak computer desk has a bay at floor level down to the right of my legs. This vertical disc tray faces to the right away from me so I have to roll my chair to the right to load the CD or DVD! 4- The disc tray seems to have a life of its own and has a strong personality, like my wife! It insists on opening if there is a disc in it and often refuses to stay closed! Hello HP! I want to listen to that Music! Audio output seems very low. My last HP Pavilion had a distorted output above 50% with my Polk Audio speakers. It was just acceptable volume at the 50% level. This HP Envy, with those same speakers, was not distorted, but the volume at maximum was totally unacceptably soft. I purchased a set of Logitec Z337 Bluetooth speakers and I’m thrilled with my new sound. This computer should have had a lot more ESS hard drive available, but Best Buy did not have an HP available with the 16 GB memory, ESS size and processor set and other specs I required. I wanted ESS for increased boot speed and while launching my most used programs like MS Office and Norton 360 especially compared to my old 2013 Pavilion. On top of that, I needed 2TB of data storage. I settled on only 512 ESS and luckily, my Geek Squad friends installed a 4TB HDD for me. I haven’t installed Norton 360 on it yet, relying on Best Buy’s Web Root for virus protection. Boot times have decreased from 30 minutes to 7 seconds! Other than the awkward disc drive, I really like this computer. ...oh, BTW, Geek Squad ROCKS!

The only reason I gave this pc a 4 is because the first one I got was flawed. I spent lot of money getting someone to set it up in home, he couldn't get all my software transferred over. So I had to purchase some software & he put it on. Had the pc for 4 days it started getting loud & it started freezing on me. Then one day it just turned itself off. So had to call Geek squad & was told to bring it in. They had it for a week, couldn't find out what was wrong, so they gave me a new one & installed what they could but again could not install my software nor my contacts. Not a happy camper at this point. Even so this one seems to be very quiet & is running smoothly. Does not take up much space either.

Bought this to replace obsolete Windows 7 machine. It had the number of USB ports I wanted and supported my older monitor. It also had an onboard DVD-RW drive for installation of older packages I still use and creating CDs and DVDs. Downloading files and running programs is quite quick. The PC also has a card reader to deal with pictures from our cameras. I have 2 minor annoyances after some limited time. The DVD drive seems particularly awkward to load a disk into when the tower is vertical and at floor level. Also the power button could use a contrasting finish or light. I had to review the quick start directions to find the power button, when the PC was placed in a poorly lit area.

Just what I needed. I replaced the power source on my previous tower and was warned to replace entire system or at least back it up before it completely went out. I purchased in addition to this, the PC Mover Ultimate and seamlessly transferred all software and files. I plan on adding a new monitor to the system but for now it's connected to my old one. The speed is great when opening files or powering up. I'm in my 60's and prefer the desktop for my home needs. I do have a laptop and tablets including an iPad. However for file storage, tax preps and scanned documents on a daily basis, this is prefect for me. The compact size allows me to lay it on its side and keep on the desk with router right on top, making it a space saver. USB ports, and power button are right at my dominant hand and much easier to get to. Don't have to go the floor or under the desk for anything. Good price for the speed and storage. I for the most part prefer HP products so connect my HP Envy to it was a no brainer.

Great desktop by HP. Nothing compares to it from DELL or LENOVO or the other competition. Windows 10 boots up in about 2 seconds and shuts down just as fast. That is amazing! I also installed Ubuntu (a free operating system) in a "dual boot" on this computer; it took about 25 minutes from a DVD. Ubuntu boots up just as quickly and shuts down in about 1 second. The fan on this desktop computer is very quiet. I can't hear the fan but I can feel cool air blowing out of the back. I know when the unit is on because the little blue indicator light is visible inside the Power button. There are 5 USB plugs (1 of them is a USB-C, the newest kind) in front, and lots more plugs in the back of the PC. The DVD door is in the front. You just press the door, and the drawer pops out. I have nothing bad to say about this.

I love this computer for what it is. If you want to play games or upgrade the video, this is not for you. The power supply is just barely enough to run what it comes with. I added a second 3 TB WD green mechanical hard drive, which is easy to do, because the included 500 GB ssd drive is not enough for me. This is a surf the internet watch videos and streaming movies or work from home computer and for that it’s plenty fast. Fastest I’ve ever had as a matter of fact. Comes with a dvd writer, wireless keyboard and mouse plus Bluetooth for my wireless headphones. Plenty of usb 3.something and a usb c connection which is supposed to be really fast. Easy to set up and go to work. Mcaffee antivirus 30 days free. I love it.

Needed a PC upgrade and this looked to be a good all around PC. My focus was on speed and performance. Not a gamer so unsure how well it does in that aspect. Boots fast and navigates quickly. Wish it came with office as having to pay $800 and then not have word or excel is a pain but maybe that is how all PCs are these days and not bundled? I did have to turn off the usb power mgt as it would not wake when using the mouse or keyboard but once doing that it works as desired.

The fastest computer I've ever had. Having a quiet 16 GB and 512 GB SSD was what I was looking for. Easy to set up and trouble free throughout the process. I had originally purchased a different model that had constant lock ups and overheating. Reloaded OS a couple times and had sent it to HP for part replacements. Nothing but one headache after another. Best Buy took it back and sold me this one. The manager was very helpful and made a bad situation tolerable. Will continue to be a Best Buy customer.

The computer works great! My wife uses this computer to shop online, check email, banking online and to store pictures. The last HP we had lasted 9 years so hopefully this one lasts at least that long. Setting up the computer is relatively easy. The hard part is transferring data from the old computer to the new one. (see my review on PC Mover) Access to the DVD/CD tray is awkward and they could have made the power button standout a little better. The keyboard and mouse included is a nice add-on. Overall it works great.
