HP Envy vs ASUS - Identical Specs, Big Difference
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the HP Envy but it bogged down frequently and froze several times (common problem, I hear). Granted, I have video editing software that's demanding but I didn't have that issue with my last computer. I exchanged the HP for the ASUS. The ASUS was about $100 more but has a 3-year in home service warranty including accidental damage so it's well worth the difference just for that. I got it set up and this thing is extremely fast. Running my video editing software with over 2 dozen tabs open on 2 browsers AND watching a streaming webinar, there are no issues whatsoever. The advertised specs are identical to the HP Envy so I don't understand. I noticed the HP uses 1-16GB ram stick and the ASUS has 2-8GB ram sticks. Maybe that's why. I don't know, but whatever the reason, the ASUS is significantly faster & much smoother running under heavy demand than the HP. The HP Envy is not what I expected based on the specs. NOT recommended.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, I am satisfied with this product. However, when I am using it, everything (mouse, screen, etc.) freezes and all I can due is reboot the computer. I haven't had time to call the Geek Squad, but I will shortly.

NO to HP Envy with Intel Core i7
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our small business computer failed after 10 yrs , I went to Best Buy & Purchased another HP , which is the only computers we have ever had except for 1 Dell . But this HP Envy desktop with Intel Core i7 was easy to set up , we started our Carbonite backup which should have taken about 30 hours ended up taking 2 1/2 days because within the first 3 hours of backing up it started freezing up , you have to shut it all down & reboot , then it to where it would do it after 1 hour of backing up , so we thought maybe it was the back up process so we muddled thru it , finally get it done . Started entering simple invoices & checks kept freezing up , called Best Buy they said we would have to bring it back in & get another one , well that was not an option at that point after spending 2 1/2 days backing up all our files & information, besides i am not a tech person I was not going to turn over that hard drive to who knows who . But we were saved by You Tube & a lot of great tech wizards who provided us with the information on how to fix the problem & it took a lot of time but apparently it is working 3 weeks now & no freeze ups . My question is if you know you have a defective product why do you continue to sell it & put it on your customer to correct the problems .

My purchase at Best Buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent product, so far it works well. Only negative, and a very slight one, was the fact of no veterans discount. For this, shame on you.

HP Desktop i7 16GB 512 SSD
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great alternative to a smaller form factor. The specs were perfect for a power user who is running multiple programs and at least 15-20 windows open at a time. I have found that due to the larger casing this machine has not heated up as much as some of our smaller machines as well.

Almost Perfect
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is almost perfect. It does everything I need it to do. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is a flimsy dvd drive, although I am glad to have one. I would purchase again.

Defective Out of the Box
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unit was defective out of the box. It froze up many times under all sorts of different conditions. I returned it to HP for repair and HP concluded it has a bad motherboard. Since it was going to take several more weeks to get a new motherboard from China, they are returning it to me unrepaired, and I plan to return it to BestBuy. However, I may simply exchange it for a new one with the hope that I just got unlucky the first time. Spec-wise, it still seems like it should be a good computer.

Great computer other than it freezes up constantly
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had this computer for less than 3 days. It was constantly freezing up on me, had to pull the plug to get it to restart. Great computer other than that little fact! I really wanted to like this computer - it had great speed and easy to set up - just froze up and I didn't want to have to deal with that! Back to the store it went.

Good but not perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would give this a 5 star review, but after setting up my computer freezes every once in a while. The price for specs and keyboard mouse combo, It's a good deal imo

Everyday use
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good computer for everyday use. Was a little disappointed considering the price. HP makes desktops that run and last as long as this one probably will at a lower price.
