Out of the box and operating within 20 minutes. I like they way these newer models (for me) automatically hook up accessories and understand the WiFi connection with minimal effort. Will update with any problems but so far looking good.

This was everything I had hoped for. The only issue I had was the front USB port broke which was really unfortunate. After researching from my understanding is pretty in depth repair so I’m one USB port down. Other than that the machine works wonderfully.

The first thing you will notice is the small size of this PC. It is no bigger than a shoe box. It is built on a micro ATX type Mother Board and Case. It comes with a Radeon 580 Video card, 16gb Ram, Ryzen 7 2700 8 Core 3.2 gigahertz, 1tb WD HD, and a SS 128gb drive. First the Cons: Small foot print prohibits some big video card upgrades. The one that’s currently used (the Radeon 580) is a single fan dual bay card. IF you wanted to go with a dual fan unit you would want to get the tape measure out first to see if it will fit. There is a power and sata cable for an additional HD to be installed but nowhere to mount, you will have to get creative for this. 2 slots for PCI-e and that’s about it. The keyboard and mouse are extremely cheap, but most have their own gaming mouse and keyboard. Not a deal breaker. No internal sound, again not a deal breaker as most used headsets or external speakers. Lots of pre installed bloatware from HP (uninstalls very easy) I like to have a clean PC with only a very limited amount of services or processes running to leave the speed for my games and photos processing. I ran a bench mark test on this and the Video card came in the 61% range. The card is nice with 4gb on it but this will be the first thing that needs to be upgraded for brand new games to work at full resolution. The other benchmarks were very good (see below) The good: Great starter gamer for people that will play most everything (some games will need setting adjusted down to work as they require more HP from the video card). Price: great for this model The small footprint (13X6X11) can fit almost anywhere and won’t take up a lot of area like the towers can. This PC was extremely quiet even when testing Battlefield on it. When I was done playing the unit did not seem hot at all, the fan was just blowing warm out the back. Boot time with the SSD was less than 30 seconds to log in!! Userbenchmark scores: (average score when compared to other gamer PCs in the same class) CPU = 92.2% GPU = 62% SSD = 107% HD = 109.1% Ram = 90.6% Over all I found this PC to be very capable for Beginner gamers or those who edit photos or videos. Gaming was very good, but Video could be better, Speed of HD access was phenomenal I didn’t have to wait for anything hardly to load. When I was editing my photos and videos in Elements I was very pleased with load and save and playing times with rather large files. My day to day work, emailing and surfing was very good as well. Despite the cons (not deal breakers) this PC is very nice, and has some great hardware in it. I would recommend this to Family and Friends.

This computer is completely spec'd out but the thermals for this are absolute garbage. The only reason its decent value is because its cheaper than buying the parts and building yourself.

The case was smaller than I thought so no luck in getting a new gpu installed (unless its a rtx2060 or other lower wattage gpu). Overall good quality ig. Managed to play a few games at well above 60-120fps

My only issue is the SSD that came with was to small. It filled up within a month with installing one game and dinner other software. I switched it out for a terabyte SSD and haven't had a problem since.

Glad that got in with the desktop. Giving me black screen a few times during long hours working, had to unplug restarting. Disable the sleep mode seems to help the issue a bit...I suspect that because of GPU failure.

I am so far very satisfied with my HP 690-0034 Gaming Desktop. I only gave it a 4 because of the size/limited upgrade capacity. But I'm ok with the computer as a whole and love the speed and ssd and would recommend it.

While it can't compete with the very best rigs out there, this system can run just about every game out there; if not at ultimate settings, then certainly at good or better. Better than I expected at the price.

The HP AMD Ryzen 7 Series Gaming Desktop is a budget-conscious gamer’s dream come true. HP did a great job putting together a powerful gaming and family-friendly desktop system in an aesthetically-pleasing package, powerful (enough) and affordable package. With the PC gaming market’s push for the most outrageous configurations and designs, the average gamer is sometimes left with few options…this HP setup is a welcome option. What’s in the box: HP Ryzen Console Wired keyboard and mouse Power Cable Windows 10, some HP utilities, and a 30-day subscription to McAfee Security Associated Paperwork and Guides Console and accessories: The console itself is on the smaller size, which I prefer for setting up on top of my desk. The smaller size will be a plus for players with limited setup space. On the downside, the smaller case may limit expansion in the future. The brushed metal design and green lighting is just enough to let you know it’s a “gaming” system, but not over the top for someone using it as a daily-driver machine. There are plenty of ports available: on the front there are 2 high-speed USB 3.1 and 1 USB-C port, a memory card reader, and a combo audio 3.5mm jack (for mic/headphone setups that only have a single cable connector) and on the back has separate mic and audio inputs and outputs, an Ethernet port, 2 x USB 2.0 and 4 x USB 3.1 ports, and the HDMI and DP ports on the Radeon RX 580 video card, a media card reader (which supports SD, SDHC and SDXC) and a read/write CD/DVD tray (which supports DVD+R/RW, DVD-R/RW and CD-R/RW formats). As mentioned, the keyboard and mouse are basic, great for the casual gamer or office worker, but many may want to upgrade these accessories. Hardware Build: The 4GB AMD Radeon RX 580 card is more than adequate for playing many past and current game titles comfortably at 1080p. The Ryzen 7 processor has plenty of power to support intense gaming and any office or online user tasks. With 16GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD the system powers up and is ready for use very quickly. There’s a 1TB HDD for storage and an additional slot available if more onboard memory is needed. There’s also onboard WiFi and Bluetooth support which is an added plus, along with support for VR usage (although I do not have that gear to try). Overall: For an “out of the box” gaming system, the HP AMD Ryzen 7 Series Gaming Desktop will be a welcome addition for many price-conscious and casual gamers. It is also a great option for everyday use in the office or home. There’s enough power to really enjoy many of the popular gaming titles at 1080p (for the greatest enjoyment) and handle any office task thrown at it. The smaller form factor is great for users/gamers with limited space and the design is “gamey” yet not over the top. Overall, it’s a very respectable system for the market it’s targeted at, this is NOT a high-end gamer’s rig…but is not marketed as such either. It’s easy to set up and use right out of the box, with some room for expansion and at a great price…I would recommend it to the casual gamer or office/home user for sure.

Nice packaged computer for mid level gaming. Even tried it out an 34” ultra wide 1440p and handled itself quite well. I wouldn’t go putting this in a confined area though.

Everything Most Will Need For Gaming

This desktop from HP comes with enough horsepower to satisfy most non-extreme gamers, in a super easy to setup and get going package. It has a small form-factor, for a desktop, and will fit on top of a desk nicely, if needed. It looks great too, so in my opinion, that's a great place for it! The dark brushed aluminum with the glowing green lights on the front looks pretty cool, especially in a darkened room. The system comes with a mouse and keyboard, which will get you by, but I'd say most gamers will want to upgrade those to a mechanical keyboard, and gaming mouse, as they are pretty basic. The keyboard is a small footptint style with chiclet keys and is comfortable to use. the mouse is wired and also comfortable in the hand. The system did great in benchmark tests from userbenchmark.com (here are the results): Overall this PC is performing way above expectations (91st percentile). This means that out of 100 PCs with exactly the same components, 9 performed better. The overall PC percentile is the average of each of its individual components. This PC is likely operated by a technical master! Processor With a brilliant single core score, this CPU is the business: It demolishes everyday tasks such as web browsing, office apps and audio/video playback. Additionally this processor can handle typical workstation, and even moderate server workloads. Finally, with a gaming score of 91.5%, this CPUs suitability for 3D gaming is outstanding. Graphics 63.9% is a good 3D score. This GPU can handle the majority of recent games at high resolutions and ultra detail levels. Boot Drive 104% is a very good SSD score. This drive is suitable for moderate workstation use, it will facilitate fast boots, responsive applications and ensure minimum IO wait times. Memory 16GB is enough RAM to run any version of Windows and it's more than sufficient for nearly all games. 16GB also allows for very large file and system caches, software development and batch photo editing/processing. The system has plenty of external ports. The front has 2 USB 3.1 and 1 USB-C port, memory card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack; the back has mic and audio inputs and outputs, an Ethernet port, 2 USB 2.0 and 4 USB 3.1 ports, 1 HDMI and 3 display ports. With small form factor cases comes reduced expandability, so this PC isn't going to be a good fit for someone that wants to do a lot of hardware upgrades. There is only 1 open PCIe x1 slot, and 1 additional SATA port, so if you have additional component cards or internal drives you need to install, this is probably not a good fit. With USB-C devices becoming more prevalent, though, having the USB-C port does provide some additional avenue for expansion devices. I would highly recommend this gaming PC to someone with limited technical skills that wants an easy to maintain and setup solution for getting into PC gaming! This system would be PERFECT for a console gamer coming over to PC gaming for the first time, or anyone wanting to get their feet wet with PC gaming, or anyone that just wants to PC game without a bunch of hassle or tweaking. Nice job, HP!

    WORST DESIGN...EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

The WORST case design in the world of PCs. Absolutely horrible! I cannot stress this enough. I didn't think of it at the time as I was in an immediate need for a new PC after a HDD crash and my PC was old enough to the point where just biting the bullet and buying a new one was cheaper than fixing and upgrading my old one. HP should fess up and offer a replacement case to every single person they duped into buying this PoS. Don't get me wrong, the internals are OK, but it's a moot point if you can't get the PC to work optimally. I had to take the side off of the case and put a fan on it just to keep it somewhat cool in the summer.
