Good Value but has lots of limitations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this on sale and for the price with the specs (Ryzen 2700 RX 580 Graphics) it was a great buy. Just be aware HP uses a cheap heat sink and fan which has trouble keeping the processor cool under load. AND you can not upgrade the CPU cooler as HP uses non standard bolt pattern on their motherboard. SOOO you are stuck with what looks like a Wraith Stealth cooler instead of the Wraith Spire which is the standard for this CPU. ALSO if you plan to upgrade the M.2 SSD be aware the socket is PCIe 2.0 x4 and not PCIe 3.0 x4. This means the latest speeds with newer drives you see can not be attained. So buy an M.2 SSD with design speeds around 1500 mbps. There are plenty of reliable PCIe SSD's and you will most likely not notice any difference in how the PC runs. I installed a WD Black 512GB PCIe NVME drive rated at 3200 mbps. The performance is outstanding but it only achieves abut 1500 mbps on this motherboard. And it offers noticeably faster boot times and program loads than the stock HP 128GB drive. Other than that, If you catch this on sale it is a good buy for most casual gaming.

A gift from above
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have owned laptops and I have on desktops but never have I owned a gaming desktop that I hooked up to my 4K television by way of HDMI. The resolution is amazing Windows 10 automatically switch to super resolution and the few games I have on PC look better than my console games. I know PC gaming is usually taken to the max with the best specs and quality but this one right out of the box takes everything you can do with a console and most of everything you can do with Steam to the next level. Pick up one quickly it's a gift from above.

Great Family/Gaming Computer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a nice entry level gaming PC. It has very capable hardware, and has been able to run the few games that I have run on it without issue or lag. I am also pleased with the startup time of the PC. Once startup is complete, everything loads very quickly. Surfing the web is quick and painless with the included wireless AC network adapter. It also has Bluetooth that I used to connect the PC to a wireless Bluetooth speaker. I did uninstall a few of the included applications, but it does not come with a lot of factory installed bloatware that slows it down. The case is small, looks good, and will not take up a lot of space on your desk. The case has a light bar on the front which is a nice touch that gives it that gaming computer look. The included mouse and keyboard are not the best, but this should not be a deal breaker. Even though I received it at no cost for evaluation purposes, I have enjoyed it so much that I went out and purchased a gaming monitor for it. If it was junk, I would not have done that. I am now using as it my daily use computer…it will surf the internet quickly without issue, it will run email and office applications without problems, and will play most games very well. It would make a great family computer or entry level gaming computer, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Great Specs for the price, horrible thermals
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When we bought this with a Ryzen 2700, it was on sale for about 800 bucks. Spec wise, we could not build a comparable computer for cheaper. So we bought it, and everything was seemingly okay - that is until we actually started gaming on it seriously. The problem is the thermals. There's no front air intake, and there's only one fan (rear exhaust), the PSU is being used to attempt to exhaust heat at the BOTTOM of the case (because heat falls, right?), and the CPU cooler is attempting to vent heat out the side panel perforations (which choke airflow, instead of help). The GPU is a blower configuration, so with no fresh airflow moving through the case, it's basically sucking hot air and not moving it out very efficiently. Games were chugging, and even some were gray screening/ freezing due to thermal throttling. Once we removed the side panel to allow ANY airflow, things immediately improved no more problems. Meaning whoever designed the case severely hampered the performance of the components. On top of that, everything in this thing is proprietary - if you think you might want to use this as a starting point to upgrade through the years, LOOK ELSEWHERE!! This thing is entirely proprietary when it comes to the PSU and motherboard. It is an mATX board but the front IO are an added section to the motherboard itself, meaning it will not fit into a new case. There is no USB 3.0 Header on the motherboard, no 24 pin connector for a new PSU. for overclocking (it is run off of a 4 pin, along with the CPU) In all honesty, you'd be doing yourself a favor to look elsewhere for comparably spec'd/ priced PCs, this thing is basically junk for what you're getting.

Very Good PC!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Super Fast, Great Specs! I mostly use this PC for online gaming and so far it is great. No lagging! Only 4 stars because it only has 2 usbs on the front of the PC. Otherwise great gaming pc.

Good gaming PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PC is pretty good, it can be overclocked with Ryzen Master as it has a B350 motherboard, I'm clocked at 3.7ghz at 1.24v stable and it handles everything I throw at it at 60fps 97% of the time. It can use a better power supply, better fans, aftermarket CPU heatsink and a aftermarket motherboard! People complaining that it can't handle AAA games but I can play them without an issue at high framerates with Max settings. Also if you're going to game I recommend removing the side cover to allow it to breath while gaming if not you will see lag!!!

Affordable & Great Gaming PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went on sale for $300 less and bought it under $750 (after applying my own discounts/points). Can't beat the price at that point for all the specs and 5 stars for that. Pros: 1. Specs are legit. 2. Great gaming PC - Played WoW, GuildWars, BDO, and other MMORPGs, and any other games you can think of. No issues. 3. Great for anything else - office work, RDP, etc. 4. Really quiet. Actual size is like a "shoe-box" will fit perfectly on top or below your desk. 5. Personally, I like the design and color. It has this green-line in the middle. 6. If you are on a budget, this is a great gaming PC! 7. Min bloatware 8. Of course, easy set-up. Cons: 1. Do you want future upgrades? - it is possible but will be hard. 2. Poor cooling/ventilation. - One fan only! And I expected that just by looking how small the tower is. 3. Only one HDMI port. If you worry about cooling/ventilation and how poor it will be, it only has one fan! You should have thought about it when considering the size of this PC. Check the specs or go to the store to see it for yourself.

Runs Too Hot
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a great computer, with good graphics and lots of power. The problem is very poor design. There is virtually no air flowing through the box. The box gets extremely hot when playing games. The processor and graphics are pushing 90 plus degrees. Best Buy says the chips are rated for 100 so it's in spec and meets warranty. They also say the chips will wear out faster because the temps are so high... Their suggestion is to move the parts to a different chassis with more fans.

Great gaming computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, this is a great gaming computer with a solid CPU. My main issue with this computer is that the case fan does not increase enough during gaming to adjust for the amount of heat it generates . I could not find program that would allow me to change the fan speed so my way around this was to buy a 3 pin fan. This computer comes with a 4 pin fan, but I bought a 90mm standard case fan (3 pin) that seems to run at a much faster rate although somewhat louder.

Don't buy for gaming
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a truly bad prebuild for gaming. The power supply is only 400 watts. The 580 video card needs at least 500 watts. You can check this online. Computer freezes and shuts down often because of the power supply. Is most likely the worse computer I've ever bought. It also has no adequate cooling. Shame on Hewlett Packard.

Entry Gamer-Office Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this primarily for entry level gaming and the occasional game. I love this machine. My old computer is functional (i5 from 6 years ago) and this one has a lot more zip. I'll replace the 128GB NvMe card this next week (128GB isn't cutting it not only in size but performance) and eventually add a bigger hard drive.

Terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this product for $800 during black Friday, but I still would not recommend it. The airflow for this case is terrible, the only fan is a small 80mm fan in the back, no inlet fan. The temps according to MSI Afterburner for the rx580 4GBB would hit 90 degrees even with the side panel off, and the cpu (ryzen 7 2700) would hit high 80's, if not higher ( again with the side panel off). Although for the price the components were good, I'm sure it wouldn't last longer than a year with the temps I saw. Now if you decide to just take the parts out and put it into a different computer beware that the only things that will swap over is the ram, the ryzen 7, and the rx580, and with the right mobo the m.2 drive with your operating system, nothing else will switch including the cooler for the cpu. If you're looking for a gaming computer either build yourself one, plenty of YouTube videos, or learn more about gaming PC's, because this is a terrible model. If you have any questions about his model and why I posted a 1 star rating comment on this review please.. I don't want anyone else to fall into the trap that I did.

Crashes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only had this a day and overheats and crashes playing Fortnite constantly. It’s set in an open cool space. Easy set up is only reason for two stars vs one. Don’t buy for gaming.
