I love HP laser color printers. I have four and they are work horses and last and last and no problems.

I saw the negative reviews online for this product and thought "It'll be fine". I was wrong. I had it shipped and the box arrived with NO damage whatsoever. Once I got all the wrapping off I powered it up to hear a popping and clicking war going on inside. My first thought was that something was still stuck inside. Hours later I'm on HP chat and looking at this: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-All-in-One-Install-Setup/Pro-MFP-M177fw-stuck-on-initializing/m-p/4990762#M190689 I managed to find some magic steps to get it initialized where I could update and fix the issue. The 20141113 firmware update explains this exact issue. I bet it's a nightmare for HP right now with these printers coming out of the box DOA and they don't even know the steps to fix and update it yet (read my chat with HP here: http://pastebin.com/xsq5EBvF ). I won't buy one of these models again unless I can somehow verify the firmware is 20141113 or later. I hope others have better luck or HP solves this problem with a reliable step-by-step to get it updated. Mac users are in trouble since the only way to update is a firmwareupdate.exe file with the full featured driver running in windows 7 (that's what worked for me).

Very easy setup. It connected to the internet quickly. We love being able to print from our phones as well as our laptops. Great print quality in b and w. Color is good for a laser printer. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the speed. However, I already knew this from reading other reviews before I purchased it. This is really not and issue for home use though.

If the toner lasts as long as it says it will, and it has no other mechanical issues, I will be very happy. It should last our family I am guessing over a year to 2 years. Plus if the quality does not vary over that length of time, I will continue to buy printers like this, or toner for this one if it is reasonable, but unfortunately like most printers, weather ink or laser, the printer new with ink or toner is not much more money than just buying ink or toner by themselves. So I will probably buy a new printer and get a warranty with it.

Easy and quick installation. Fast printing and easy use with iphone.

Easy and complete set-up. All functions work. Was able to connect to all my computers including Ipad. Print quality better than all of my past inkjet printers. Note that the last HP inkjet printer I purchased was a complete waste of money. Blew through ink cartridges and only lasted 2 years. I went with a color laserjet this time because I have one at work and it has been great.

Scanner and copy/printing functions work very well. Reasonably priced, and good quality printing.

We haven't used it much yet. But, like it pretty well so far. I don't see any issues with it.

I have used this printer for 3 months and the quality of the prints is great. It takes a little while to print but that is expected. I like that the printer has both color and black printing capabilities as well as a feeder scan. Already need a replacement black toner cartridge but I print quite a bit.

Upgraded from a Non multi Printer. This thing works great. Much smaller form then my old Laser. Works great with Phone, from Internet...wherever. I love HP Products. You definitely get what you pay for.

I was looking for a good color laser printer that I could use in my home network. Didn't want one that was large or bulky that was used for office use but still had the quality color printing. This one had all the features I wanted and had good reviews. It was easy to set up and install wireless to my home network. The printing quality was just as I had hoped and expected. I even was able to set it up to print out of my network from my work. The toner cartridges are a bit expensive but the quality of the printing and ease of use makes it worth it.

I had an HP 6500 Wireless Officejet Printer for 3 1/2 years and it seems like I was constantly buying ink cartridges. I'm in sales and print monthly special deal sheets for sales presentations. I purchased the Laser Jet Pro M177w (cost 2X previous printer) because of the reviews about it being faster than the Epson or the Brother equivalent. I am still using the original (starter) ink cartridges that came with the unit although I have not used it at my full capacity in the last 30 days so I can't comment on the high or low ink consumption now. Typically I print 100 - 200 pages a month both color and black and white. The profile of this machine is more compact (square) so it's footprint is smaller on my desk; it is taller than the 6500. I like the touch screen function pad a great deal.

it is fast the printing is clear.....and a biggy is it saves on ink

This is a fantastic color laser printer at the price of an inkjet. It prints at a great speed and great quality for an unbelievably excellent price! It may not be great for anyone looking to print photos for albums but if you print anything else that has pictures accompanied with text this is the printer for you! Even more so if you are looking to save money on the cost of ink considering the amount of pages that can be printed with the toner with no worries of your ink drying out like mine did on my inkjets. Such a great printer that I replaced my grandmothers inkjet printer as well and the only problem she had with her inkjet was the ink drying out but as far as usage it performs as well as her photo inkjet printer did for everyday use!!

I recently purchased this MFP, have thus far only used to print and the print quality is excellent. The sales price also made the MFP a great buy. I had several HP printers and all have performed exceptionally well. BEST buy also puts HP's on sale frequently so suggest anyone looking to purchase look for the sales.
