Printer quality is good enough but scanning or copying are not very well. Low scan resolution and copy quality. But still worths for the price.

The printer was relatively easy to set up. However, my Windows 8 laptop still can't run the main menu program that lets me choose what to do with the machine (print, scan, fax, whatever). I can print documents and images from the Windows 8 machine but cannot bring up the menu. I have an older computer running XP that brings up the menu just fine. Also, I have had several paper jams. This might be due to the quality of paper, but it's the same paper I used with my prior printer, which never jammed. I do like the printer and intend to keep it.

We were told by the hp rep in the store that this printer should get about 1000 pages per cartridge. So far we have printed about 600 pages and the ink is still going strong. To us this make this a very economical printer for the money

Salesman recommended it for the replacement of the one I had. Glad I went with the product. It was easy to set up, the price was great, and anybody can link to the wireless ability. The documents are quick and clear. Like the separate color cartridges, only have to change the color that goes out.(no wasted ink.) Have not found anything that I don't like about it yet I use it daily to print out invoices for my customers.

Great printer. I use it for business and for personal use. As a small business printer it works great. It was cheap, has WiFi capabilities and prints, copies and scans well. The only drawback is it doesn't copy or scan small items well like ID cards etc.
Definitely recommend for the money conscious.

Since I've purchased this printer, I've been able to print pictures and paper work with ease. The work this printer does without sacrificing anything for being an all in one printer is awesome. It's so easy to set up.

Let's face it, ink and toner are the ways printer manufacturers make money. Putting that aside though, this unit is perfect for the home office. I chose this primarily for the duplex printing and it works well. Setup was super-easy but a bit lengthy. Insert the CD and the software walks you through the setup process. Setting up printing from smartphones was a little more involved, but not difficult either.

Fulfills its requirements for what an all-in-one printer should do, while have additional features to make it easier for those who need it. This printer will be used for a long time before it becomes outdated.

I bought this printer when my last cheapy conked out, and I realized that I needed something with a little more muscle. I write fiction and use this printer primarily to print manuscripts. It works wonderfully. I'm not technically adept at all, but was able to set the printer up to work with our wireless internet with a minimum of hassle.
I haven't used the printer for printing photos, so have no idea how well that feature would work. Granted, this is still a new purchase, but overall, I'm very happy.

I did not need a new printer, but when I was told that I could print from my Ipad and Iphone from anywhere, I decided to try it. It was so easy to set up--especially for someone like me who uses a laptop or PC every day but has no idea how to fix anything. In no time it was up and running and I was printing from every room in the house with my laptop, Ipad and Iphone. It holds much more paper than my old printer so I don't have to refill as often. It prints very fast with good quality.

Great AIO printer for small home office

I bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 for use in a small home office set up.
First the good: It's supper easy to set up, the wireless connection works flawlessly. So far I've used it with Windows 7 & Ubuntu (Linux) and haven't experienced any issues with either. The print quality is good and the speed is adequate for what I've needed. I've found the remote "scan to computer" feature to be useful, dependable and produce good quality scans. Changing the ink cartridges is straight forward and they are readily available.
Now the not so good: I was disappointed by the flimsy feel of the paper tray and the pull-out extension to the printout tray. For a printer targeting an office use scenario I expected a more durable design and feel in those areas. I have personally found the touchscreen keyboard difficult to use due to the software having difficulty determining which key was pressed (my fingers are not particularly wide). The issue which as presented me with the most difficulty however is the design of the guides on the auto sheet feeder. They slope ergonomically up and away from the page they are designed to guide though the sheet feeder. This design creates a nice sleek look however doesn't doesn't do any favors for the function these pieces were designed for, pages tend to drift from side to side riding the slope of the guides rather then proceed in a straight line through the feeder and have at time required manual assistance to stay straight.

The OfficeJet 8600 is the best home AIO printer I have used to date. Fast, user-friendly and feature packed. It includes ePrint, alowing me to print from the Internet via an email address. Double sided printing is a snap and a huge consumable saver. Full size ink cartridges are included as standard equipment, and ink usage has been very satisfactory.
Now using FAX capability as well with ease.

I searched several models primarily comparing the printing cost per page. The Pro 8600 seemed to be the best deal with the features that I wanted. Now that I have used it for a few months, I can also say that I am very happy with the quality of the prints and that it was easy to set up on PCs, Macs and mobile devices.

I recently purchased a Kodak printer, recommended by the salesperson, because of the photo printing features and ink saving claims. I had nothing but problems and took it back for a replacement.... same thing with the replacement. SO this time I decided to give HP a try since I had really liked a HP printer I had years ago. Although this printer is larger than I like, it's the ONLY negative thing I've ran into. It prints quickly, there's an iPhone app to print directly from an iPhone, it has the separate color cartridges so you only have to buy which ever ink you run out of and not waste any unused ink. It scans well too. I had a recent paper jam and wasn't able to get the paper completely removed from the back side. The onscreen dialog informed me of accessing the jam from the cartridge area as a last resort and I was EASILY able to remove the rest of the jammed paper. I also love that you can load a TON of paper into the bin, eliminating the need to reload paper as often as other printers. I absolutely love this printer! The price was very reasonable as well Way to go HP!

Have been using Canon printers for quite a while, but decided research other printer reviews and decided on an HP this time. Love how easy it was to set-up. Quite honestly, it was like "magic." We can print from anywhere in our house via our laptops, desktop, iPads, phones, etc. Print quality is great too. Haven't used the Cloud printing yet. It is very intuitive too.

This is a great printer. It was easy to set up - even for someone who isn't exactly a computer geek. It prints with ease.
It makes life in the office a lot more pleasant.
It works much better than the 7 year old printer - and MUCH FASTER!!!
This is a great printer with a great price!!!
It works great with HP 951XL color ink cartridges and with 950XL black ink cartridge.
