Garbage printer / avoid HP products

Avoid HP products at all costs. I have not even owned this printer for 6 months and let me share all of the issues with you. 1. It is expensive to operate. The printer consumes color ink even when printing in black white / gray scale. 2. Every other print job stops where the printer says there is a jam. There is no jam, the printer has been cleaned and serviced and the issue remains. This is my fourth HP printer and my last. I had two other models previously that quit printing within a month of each other. A third model did not work out of the box. I thought spending up would solve my problem but only made things worse. The only solution is to avoid buying anything HP sells.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry that your experience with your printer so far has not been as you expected. I’m sure that learning the device lacks connectivity options you’d anticipated came as something of a shock. That said, there are ways you can connect the printer via cable. I hope you’ll use the information and resources below to get the device working to your satisfaction.

You’re correct that a Wi-Fi connection is needed, but only for setup and installation. Once that’s complete, you can connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable (although the device will need to maintain an internet connection as well). I suggest you look over the printer’s main user manual on our support site. In the table of contents, scroll to the header, “Connect Your Printer,” and look for the topic, “Connect Your Printer Using a USB Cable.” Click that phrase to be taken to applicable section. Find that manual here:

      Hi there.

I bought my HP Officejet 9015 in August 2019. It worked fine until about a month ago (4 months past the 1 year warranty) then I began to get a flashing intermittent error code B305DFF1 on the screen. The printer will not run unless it is physically unplugged and the plugged back in again. HP is aware of this issue with this printer but their recommended actions do not prevent recurrence of the error code. Do not buy this printer!

Super disappointed. It’s difficult to set up. Also, the ink cartridge keeps popping out. Unfortunately, I bought it and the next day had to cover a doctor’s office in another state. I’m a travel nurse and I go when called. By the time I arrived back home, the 14 day return policy had transpired and I was unable to return it. Pretty disappointing overall.

      Hi, Jen.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer was difficult to set up and has not held onto an ink cartridge like it should. It’s easy to understand why that would be quite an unnerving introduction to a product. With that in mind, I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing the cartridge error, but it concerns me and I believe it needs further investigation. I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you can make use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

This HP all-in-one printer is all you need! Set up was simple as most HP products are. It connected easily to my internet and to my devices for wireless printing. It is a little bulky, but on a normal size desk it fits fine. I mainly use it for printing. Right out of the box it was printing great! I had to do a head cleaning but I expected to have to do that to get it going. Scan quality is slightly better than I have seen in other printers recently. I've been using it for a few weeks now and haven't had any issues with it. Over-all, this HP printer is another great quality piece of equipment put out by this company. It's reliable and print quality and color is top notch. I highly recommend!
