      Hello,

I’m sorry that you aren’t satisfied with this printer. We always aim to provide our customers a realisable and satisfactory experience with all our products, and I regret that we missed the mark there. I can understand your disappointment.

I would also like to point out that the first cartridges that are delivered with the printer are only “SETUP- cartridges” to set up and calibrate the printer. They, therefore, have less ink inside. Remember you can contact us for support at any time. Find our official support site by searching the web with keywords “HP Support.” We would always love to help you with any issues you might be having with this device

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has not performed well regarding ink cartridge installation. It’s easy to understand why the situation you describe regarding the cartridges staying in and printer recognizing them would be puzzling and eventually quite frustrating, so I’ll offer some resources and information I hope will help.

I can’t tell from your review what’s causing these problems, so I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has failed to maintain a reliable wireless connection and has used more ink than you’d anticipated. It’s easy to understand why that would be an aggravating combination, so I’ll offer some information and resources I hope will help.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems, including wireless connectivity and printer-offline issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Here are some facts on ink use that might help you get more prints without too much extra effort:
      - A high-density print (such as an image or graph) uses ink more quickly than a text-only document, particularly if the paper is highly absorbent and the environment is dry.
      - Using the draft and black only settings on your printer can help save on ink, particularly the colors.
      - Shutting the printer down between uses can result in some savings. However, always use the power button on the printer itself to turn it off. That will let the printer to 'park' so that the nozzles that spray the ink onto the paper are protected from excess drying.

If either problem persists, I hope you’ll get in touch with us directly for support at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through any applicable troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Every printer out there claims to be an all in one. Sure, they all print/scan/copy/fax (well, most of them fax). But the 9015 takes it a step further with built in Google Drive, drop box, and other built in apps. I have mine sitting on top of a filing cabinet, without any issue. The printer prints at a respectable 18ppm color and 22ppm black and white. As with other printers in its class, the inks are different black/c/m/y cartridges. And like all HP printers, the ink quality and resulting prints (documents and photos) are all top-notch. It also offers a quick two sided copy/scan feature either via the regular scanning bed or via the top loader. As well as a 250 page input tray. The coolest features in my opinion are the new "smart tasks". One of which is the OCR function. Where basically you scan a page in and then you can edit and search the scanned documents. In my line of work this is very handy. Not only can you scan such documents from your printer - but also from your phone! The quality of the scans (from both), to me are mind-blowing! I have been around the block when it comes to scanners, from the "early days" all the way to this 9015. And hands down this one is the best! I love being able to pull up a document from google drive (on the printer itself, via its touchscreen smartphone-like LCD screen) and just hitting "print" and bam! There it is! No more fiddling around having to do it from a PC or phone. If this, and other reviews don't entice you to purchase this printer - then I don't know what will. All in all it is the perfect printer. Not just in its class, but any I have EVER used before! And that's saying something! You truly can't go wrong. HP really went all in with the 9015!

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer has run out of ink so quickly. It concerns me that the cartridges you’ve received performed so poorly. Based on the page estimates I see on the HP website for the cartridges that fit your printer, unless you were printing mostly high-density prints, it does seem like you should have been able to print more. With that in mind, I’ll offer some clarifying information and some resources I hope will help you resolve the situation.

First, I can’t say for certain what happened with the ink supply in your case, but some printers come with what are known as setup cartridges, which have a lower capacity than regular or XL cartridges, and less yet than ones in our Instant Ink program. A third possibility is the printer is not reading the cartridges correctly and is giving an inaccurate reading.

Regardless, I recommend that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and find a solution.

      Hi there.

I’m sorry to learn about your bad experience with the scanning feature of your printer. I can see how not being able to use batch scanning would be frustrating, especially if you have many documents or images to scan.

I see you returned the printer, but in case you give us another chance, here are some documents that might help you resolve what you encountered:
      - How to Scan (Windows): support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03466081
      - How to Scan (Mac OS): support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04788799

Also, there is no charge for standard support during your 1-year warranty period, and support feedback that says otherwise is often linked to fraudulent companies or individuals. To double check the warranty status of your printer, visit: support.hp.com/checkwarranty

Again, so sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope you’ll give HP another chance.

More Features than I Could Ever Use

I've had a love-hate relationship with HP products over the past 45 years, since I got my first scientific calculator. The products have served me well in general. It's just that often HP forgets the wisdom of "keep it simple" and tries to do a little too much. And when that happens, things get too complicated, which increases the odds that something won't work. This has been especially true for the software supporting HP products. My previous HP all-in-one printer, the HP OfficeJet 6500 E709n was a hardware powerhouse, a great printer, scanner, and fax machine. But the software suite that came with it took forever to install, would occasionally break and need to be replaced, and sometimes special HP removal software had to be used to remove traces of previous installations before a reinstall was successful. When the printer eventually developed hardware problems (clogged jets), I ditched the machine for an Epson all-in-one, whose software was infinitely simpler and easy to use. But I was willing to try the latest and greatest printer from HP, so I acquired the OfficeJet Pro 9010. I was particularly interested in having a printer that qualified for HP Instant Ink, which seemed like a great way to save money, as ink is the most expensive part of using a printer. I also wanted to be able to print easily from my android phone, which the 9010 was supposed to support well. I was surprised upon reading the instructions that the printer not only supported printing from my phone; I practically needed a phone to set it up! I had to download two APK files and run them to set up the printer. Following the instructions, I had to move between my phone and the screen on the printer. Setup went okay except for two things. At one point during the install I wanted to go to the home page of my phone, just to check the weather, and when I did this the install hung. I had to start over again. Second, it wasn't clear that having an Ethernet cable would interfere with setup. The printer "wanted" to be on wireless for setup and refused to complete the setup until I unplugged the Ethernet cable. After that, everything was groovy. I was able to print a file directly from my phone, either through my home network or directly to the printer! Not sure what the advantage would be for the latter, but it works. Of course I wanted to be able to print from my Windows 10 laptop (an HP laptop, by the way), too, so I looked into setting up the new printer. The instructions didn't say much here—just the usual "Add device" procedure from Printers & scanners settings. Windows saw the printer right away and seemed to set it up. But I was also warned that there was an HP-specific Windows 10 app that I should get. This made me nervous, bringing back memories of the bloated suite that came with my OfficeJet 6500. But I got it app anyway and ran setup. I was first confused about whether to choose "add a new printer" or "configure an existing printer." I had already set up the printer on my home network with software through my Android phone, so I thought it was the latter. Wrong. So I added a new printer, despite my fear that multiple copies of the printer might appear on the network. That did not happen, at least not exactly. There were multiple images starting with HPB, but one took me to an embedded web server webpage, which allowed me to perform basically the same functions as the Windows 10 app. I'm still not clear what the advantage of the app might be. The "HP Smart" software for my phone and Windows allows me to create "smart tasks" such as a particularly-defined print request, e.g., Print one copy, color, one-sided. That could come in handy. Other menu items include printing a photo, attaching a camera scan to an email (Really? Why should printer software do that?), printing a Facebook photo, ordering more ink, and, of course, printing documents. Probably a little more than I need, but at least the Windows software did not seem as bloated as the package for my previous all-in-one. Until yesterday, that is. All of a sudden, some HP program running in the background of my laptop said that there were vital updates that I needed to install for the printer. Obediently, I allowed the updater to run, and it warned me that aspects of the update might be invisible, and that I should patiently wait. A number of new HP programs appeared to be downloading, and at 90% the update process went into a hang. I went away for several hours, returned, and it was still at the same point. I stopped the process and tried some of the new shortcuts on my desktop, and they failed. So I ran the updater again. This time it worked, although I now have more HP programs than I really need. This has not caused a problem yet, and my printer does work beautifully. But we'll have to see what happens down the road.
