      Hi there.

I’m sorry to hear that your printer’s document feeder is not performing like it should. I can understand why printing documents page by page on the glass plate would be tedious and eventually frustrating, so I’ll identify some resources and offer some information that I hope will help.

First, I recommend you follow the steps in this guide to document feeders that fail to pick up paper or push through too many pages at once:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01728503

You might also find useful information in this troubleshooting guide for printers that display an out-of-paper error and do not pick up paper:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00786157

If the problem persists, I suggest that you contact us directly at +1 800-474-6836 so we can help you assess the situation and guide you through the proper troubleshooting. (Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.) To expedite the process, I recommend gathering the following information before the call:

      - Model number
      - Serial number
      - Your location
      - Case number (from any previous contact with HP support)

I'll also mention that HP printers have a one-year warranty from their purchase date that covers hardware as well as ink supplies, so if it comes to that, you might consider making use of it. You can verify the warranty using the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

      Hi, Pete.

I’m sorry that your printer stopped printing. I can easily understand why seeing a cartridge error message specifying the need for Instant Ink enrollment would be a jarring surprise, considering that you are enrolled in Instant Ink. I want to help you remedy this problem, so I’ll offer some clarifying information and a resource I hope will reach that goal.

I can’t tell from your review whether the cartridge that resulted in an error is one sent to you via Instant Ink or it’s one you bought retail. If it’s the latter, then the error message is correct. As you might already know, if you have an Instant Ink subscription, your printer will accept only those cartridges sent via the program.

However, if you received the cartridge via Instant Ink and still got the error message, that’s an obvious mistake. If this is the case, I recommend that you contact our Instant Ink program at +1-855-785-2777 so we can help you assess and resolve the situation. Please note that because of restrictions on personal movement and workplace attendance associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, wait times for agents are longer than normal. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

      Hello there,

I'm truly sorry that your printer is not working properly anymore. I can assure you that we certainly build our printers with the intent of providing a reliable experience for our customers, so I can imagine how frustrating and disappointing a situation like yours can be.

First, I recommend you visit a page on our support site that has diagnostic tools for various problems. For scanning and printing, you’ll find on this page a general-purpose tool called the HP Print and Scan Doctor. If you use Windows, the tool will help identify and guide you through solutions to a wide range of common printing and scanning issues. Visit that page here:
      - support.hp.com/us-en/topic/diagnostics

Furthermore, if the issues persist, I would recommend reaching out to us for support. We'd be more than happy to work through any troubleshooting or initiate a replacement under your printer's warranty. You can reach us at: hp.com/contactHP

On a related note, I'd like to mention the fact that HP printers do also have a warranty from their purchase date, so if you find you need to use it, I hope you will. To verify the warranty, you can use the following link: support.hp.com/us-en/checkwarranty

    Don't bother with Customer Support!

Have been using for about 1 month. I was reluctant due to prior experience with HP printer. However, this one appears to be more user-friendly and hopefully economical. Set-up was made ridiculously complicated -- impossible, actually -- by customer support. After an hour on the phone with them I hung up and did the obvious to network the printer. Ta-da. No big whoop. Copies and scans are good quality. Printer doesn't vibrate nearly as much as my old one. So, 3 stars until I see if it holds up over time.

After extensive testing, I feel like a five-star review is not over selling this unit. First off, the printer in grey and off white with a touch screen display that looks as sharp as any out there. As with any HP printer, setup is not exactly easy but manageable for the initiated. I have been using this product in lieu of my regular printer for average use printing, scanning, emailing to purposes and I have not been disappointed. I have printed over two reams worth of color and black scale copies in the past week(s). Each copies / prints thus far have been flawless. Obviously, those towards the end of the ink cartage were noticeably affected but overall, I was(am) quite satisfied. To be clear, I would never recommend large value printing from an INK printer and would always suggest a Laser, but this unit could handle the work load (provided you have spare ink cartages). The scan to feature is great and allows media size control within the setting to decrease clarity for smaller file size or vice versa. The new app I tested along with the printer is fine, but I do feel like HP is trying to fix something that does not require tweaking. All in all, this all in one is a GREAT deal and will fit into anyone’s home or business. PS I beat the hard maze, quickly #humblebrag

    Good Print Quality, Tricky Setup

Printer software seems to get more complicated as technology advances. I did most of the setup for this printer on my iPhone and could not get it to properly connect and print. My computer had less trouble which is fine, but in this age of highly mobile productivity it would be better to have a more reliable mobile interaction. Hopefully it improves as I learn the printer more. The color quality of the printing is a significant improvement over the cheap Epson printer I bought at the beginning of the pandemic. My wife is a graphic designer and Cricut user so quality printing is important and she was happy with the performance of this printer. The HP+ Instant Ink feature is an interesting idea. Having just set up the printer, I don’t have a review for that service yet although it seems like it will be convenient.

    HP Going Cheaper

This version (9000) is less robust than earlier versions (8600). It is flimsy and very noisy. But it prints and transports paper very well. The FAX option works through the Internet, so the printer requires an account with HP. Pay attention to the descriptions for the lower ratings. Their concerns are real, but their issues might not be important to you.
