Picture & sound are great. Not so great is the rinky dink remote control, you about need a PhD to figure it out. Instructions for tv are a bit of a search but once you locate it (hint there's no instructions book) it's pretty decent for the price.

Pro: -Components secured -Cable management -Performance for the specs of the component Con: -Cooling could be better -Issues with sleep mode -Gaming Hub Component’s performance and specs aside, overall the 35L is a good entry level gaming PC. The build is good, with good cable management, and all the components secured for shipping. My main criticisms are that the cooling is underwhelming, and known issues with sleep mode. The HP Gaming Hub is great but a somewhat necessary evil. The Build The case is mesh front and is good for airflow. However, the front fans are sandwiched between two mesh and a fine dust filter causing more restriction and noise. It’s not terrible, just unnecessary. No power supply shroud, but the cables are well managed so it looks clean. On the back, there’s 6 USB-A ports (4 USB 2, and 2 USB 3) and 1 type C. Audio 3.5mm in/out, ethernet, and a clear CMOS button. In the front, 2 USB A and a type C, headphone out, and power button. Inside, there’s a custom motherboard with a single fan CPU cooler. The CPU is the AMD 8700f, which doesn’t have an integrated GPU. The rams are Kingston Fury Beast 16gb 5300 (turbo up to 6000). The 5060ti is a dual fan model and securely reinforced with a bracket and it’s not budging. A 500w power supply, which is enough for this build. There’s an unused fan hub on the back panel for expansion. Performance Given its specs, it performed as expected. You’ll be running mostly low to mid settings at 1080p, depending on the games. The 5060ti isn’t a power house, but I could still game at 60fps with DLSS turned on. Cooling, while still within normal range, could be better. Out of the box setting, the system got hotter and louder than I’d like so I turned on manual fan settings. After which, the CPU would idle at about 32C but jumps to the mid 50’s in less demanding games and 60-70 in more intense games. The 8700f should be relatively easy to cool, and for context, my 9800X3D with a budget cooler doesn’t get that hot while playing the same games. The GPU temps are within 40C-60C so far with the games I’ve tested, which is fine. The other criticism is the HP Gaming Hub. It’s the main control center where you can adjust cooling, lighting, performance, power, etc. It’s somewhat basic and would have been ok if it’s just that. However, it’s also a hub where everything else HP wants to shove to you. There’s so many ads and bloated features. It’s slow and laggy on start up too. Luckily it shouldn't be something that has to be used often, or third party apps are available. There’s one other issue that is known, which is the sleep mode. This PC, whether there’s some software or hardware conflict, can’t go into proper sleep mode. It will either turn off the display but all the fans and lights are still running, just the lights or fans running, or it will eventually go to sleep after about 15 mins, but will occasionally spin up again. The advice I was given was either use hibernation or just turn it off each time. Verdict Despite my criticisms, it’s not a bad entry level gaming PC. Performance is according to specs. It would be mostly limited by the GPU. Cooling could be better, and would benefit from an upgraded cooler, but overall still acceptable. The sleep mode issue is annoying, and no real solution was found. For the price, it’s about $200-$300 more than building one yourself, which isn’t bad.

Awesome after I added more RAM

It looks clean and awesome! The first thing immediately wrong with this device is the RAM, it’s almost unforgivably small for a gaming PC but it does run alright with it… not that I didn’t upgrade it to 32GB after I tested a few games on it with 16GB of RAM. So, if you can’t upgrade the RAM, it’s perfectly usable, but you will be much happier if you shell out for at least another 16GB of RAM in the spare memory slots on the motherboard. Ther is a slot for a full hard drive as well if you are like me and have a 10TB drive with movies and such on it to not take up the main hard drive. The RGB with the white and black theme with RGB is definitely meant to be a statement piece for your bedroom or office as much as a capable gaming rig. But as good as it looks I appreciate that some usability feature were though of too, there is a USB C, 2 USB A, and an Aux port on the top front so you don’t have to blindly stab in the back of your computer if you need to use a headset instead of your speakers or need to plug in a USB device of some kind With 16GB of RAM I could run Forza Horizon 5 in extreme graphics without an issue and was right around 60fps or better, Cyberpunk 2077 I was able to run with Ray tracing at medium and still hit 60fps but running it on low ray tracing bumped me up past 70 majority of the time and better. A computational game (hearts of iron 4 ) I was able to stay at 20fps at even in 1950 at 5x speed, which is pretty is still usable, taking it down to 3x speed put me above 60 frames per second but I’ve found that as long as it stays above 16fps in hearts of iron 4 it is usable, anything less and it can be an exercise in patience. I then put 16GB in and really the main difference I saw was the load up time of games and generally the system ran faster, it didn’t really make a difference in the games itself. So if you don’t mind waiting a little longer for games to load you don’t need to add more RAM, but I would suggest adding more RAM. The keyboard and mouse I the box aren’t worth talking about, I’ll mention that you have them in the box, but unless you are desperate I wouldn’t use them at all, they are nice if you are getting a whole new setup and your mouse and keyboard haven’t arrived I suppose. Pros: Awesome looking Preforms excellent Lots of ports Cons: Keyboard and mouse MacAfee needs to be removed Only 16GB of RAM

Mouse and keyboard occasionally turn off. The only way to get it back working was holding the power button to reset. Geek squad said might be the hard drive problem

    Price to Performance Sweet Spot

HP has been in the gaming space for a while now, usually under their gaming moniker “Omen”. I think it's great when an established PC company like HP makes gaming focused products because they already have such a great starting point. This PC in particular, the 35L with an RTX 5060Ti and a Ryzen CPU is what I believe to be the sweet spot for the vast majority of gamers. This is especially true for console gamers looking to finally make the jump. Performance: The key performance points in a gaming PC are the GPU, CPU, RAM and Storage. Here, HP has fitted this PC with some great components. The GPU is the star of the show with an RTX 5060Ti which unlocks some fantastic performance metrics. Additionally, the Ryzen 7 is this generation's sweetheart. It has a great power draw to performance ratio that outclasses its competitors. The RAM is probably the first thing I would consider upgrading, just with an additional 16gb of the same DDR5. 16gb is nothing to be concerned about, but 32gb will set you up for the long term as we head into more demanding games in the near future. The SSD is fast, and they gave us a respectable 1TB for the price of the PC. I am gaming on this PC on a 3440x1440 display (and a secondary monitor) which pushes it beyond 1080p gaming. Even at that resolution, this PC is able to create a great gaming experience. Framerates wise I am getting about 70fps as a minimum in every game I played. I tweaked the graphics settings to achieve this, with the majority of the settings being on High. Some of the games I played was KCD2, E33, Forza Horizon 5, and Ready Or Not, and OW2. As long as you aren’t expecting to crank the graphics to Ultra with 120fps then you will be extremely happy with the performance of this PC. The good thing too is that if you wanted to upgrade the GPU down the road, all the other components are futureproof enough to support a GPU upgrade. Build: The overall build is excellent. The case has a nice design/feel that would look nice on a modern desk setup. The port placement is also excellent and provides easy access to USB-C and A ports near the front of the PC. Obviously, on the back you get even more access to ports for your peripherals and accessories. I have this PC hooked up to a dual monitor setup, USB-C charging, and a USB audio system including a sub. Everything works great and was easy to set up. If you have lots of accessories you shouldn’t have any issues. Conclusion: At this price point you can’t go wrong with this PC. This is especially true in today’s world where it’s difficult to get your hands on GPU’s, especially the highest end ones. You can easily make the argument you are better getting a middle tier GPU build and look to upgrade just that component in the future when hopefully we see more supply on those high end cards. Personally, I think the performance you get from this PC is going to satisfy 98% of gamers. I also think if you are looking to transition from console to PC, this is one of the best options to jump in thanks to the price/performance ratio. I highly recommend this PC.

Solid gaming rig, but not great for video editing

Out of the box you can tell that this is well built and quality product. A lot of effort went into the design to make it look stunning as well as having an amazing lighting scheme through the fans inside the case. The computer comes with a very basic wired keyboard and mouse. I still don’t understand why companies design these amazing looking gaming PC’s and then include very basic mice and keyboards that a gamer would never use. This is clearly designed from the ground up as a mid-level gaming PC. It has the new GeForce RTX 5060Ti with 16GB of memory. The computer also has 16GB of DDR5 RAM. I would definitely at least double that RAM. But if you are looking to get the same chips that are already in there, you won’t be able to because they are proprietary designed just for HP and aren’t currently for sale (I contacted them and that is what I was told). It also has a Ryzen 7 8700F Processor. It has an internal 1TB NVMe SSD hard drive, and there is also a second slot on the motherboard for another NVMe SSD. There are only 2 SATA ports on the motherboard, so if you wanted to add more drives than that, you won’t be able to. Not to mention if you want to add more than one, you will need to get a power cable splitter since there is only one power connector on the power supply for a SATA drive. For 1080P and even 1440P games you will probably be very satisfied with this machine. I loaded up a few games. Starting with Assassin’s Creed Mirage at the ultra high settings. I was comfortably getting in the 90s for my frame rates. I also tried Horizon Forbidden West on the very high settings and was getting in the 60s for my frame rates. Lastly, I loaded up Cyberpunk 2077 on the ultra settings and was getting frame rates in the 70’s. So its definitely a very capable gaming machine. If you are looking for only a machine to do gaming on and other basic light tasks like surfing the web, watching videos, writing documents and things like that, this is a great choice for you! Now lets get into the bad parts about this machine. If you are someone who uses your computer for not only gaming, but also things like content creating, video editing, video up-scaling and things of that nature, you will probably be very disappointed in this machine. I was shocked when I went to do some up-scaling of videos from 1080p to 4K or even just editing some 4K videos. The render times were horrible. My 3 year old PC with a RTX 4060Ti and an Intel processor renders videos roughly 2-3 times faster than this brand new machine does. When you have videos to render that take 12+ hours, that can make a HUGE difference. I tried the same video on each machine and it took an hour and 25 minutes on my old machine and on this one it took 3 hours and 10 minutes. I thought maybe it was because it only had 16GB of RAM that it was slow. So I added 64GB of 6000Mhz DDR 5 ram and it didn’t help at all. So, I think I will continue to use my older computer. With all that said, if you use your computer primarily for gaming and basic tasks, this will be a great machine for you and I would definitely recommend it. If you are someone who uses your computer for not only gaming but any kind of video editing, up-scaling, any kind of 3D modeling or after effects or anything like that, you will probably want to stay far away from this machine!

    Blue screen issues.

Not sure what the issue was, but I would often get a blue screen. It didn’t matter what game was played, it I barely started up the PC, the blue screen would appear at least once a week. Also, a fan within the first week started ringing constantly. I tried this model and the 5060 35L. I went through 4 omen PCs total, won’t try another again. Pricing is great, but the quality just isn’t.
