My son (11) and I went in on this to play Steam games and to also be able to play VR games on our Oculus 2 headset that werent available in their store. We dont have the fastest internet and I wasnt sure if that would cause issues but this computer has far exceeded our expections and we play games flawlessly!

For $900, this PC ends up being one of the rare cases where a prebuilt actually ends up being cheaper than building one with similar specs yourself. Here’s the cost breakdown:
GPU: $230
CPU: $170
RAM: $50
SSD: $50
Case: Not on market, but is similar to high end $120 cases
Windows 10 OS: $100
Motherboard: ~$120
PSU: $100
In all, the total comes to be $940 if you were to build a similar one yourself, which is $40 more expensive than this. That is not to mention the included OMEN software and the time it takes to build it. If you are looking for a better deal, this one is probably the best prebuilt you can find under $1k
As for the speed, it is amazing. It runs well over the refresh rate of the best monitors which are 144hz, at highest settings of the most popular games.
Only problems I had with this was the low ram, which I fixed by buying another $40 stick, and the discontinued streaming feature by HP that for some reason still says it’s part of the software, which was one of the main reasons I bought this PC and am pretty disappointed that they discontinued the service. HP still claims that it works when every single one of the 50+ reviews on the App Store, google play, and YouTube say that it won’t work, and they respond with the same useless troubleshoot message. This is why I am giving this 4/5 stars, and will make it 5 if HP decides to fix their service.
