Easy to use. Fast and lots of memory. Luckily, Best Buy sent me an email about a Flash Sale. So, I zipped down to the local store and picked it up. Love it!

It is a good size and weight but getting to my documents from where geek squar copied the is cumbersome. It should be much easier and with fewer steps.

Keyboard is a little hard to get used to, but good performance. I never used a laptop before and it is user friendly. I do wish it had back-lighting.

I wasn't sure if I would like the large size screen, but I watch a lot of movies on-line and I love the picture. It is worth carrying the extra weight.

Nice Laptop For This Price Range

I am going to go ahead and give this machine 5 stars to sorta counter the guy with his BS 2 star review. How do you negatively review an item based on it's specs when the specs are available prior to purchase? If the specs were undesirable, why buy? For $400, you have to be comparing this to machines in the same $300-500 range, and in that range, this is quite an item. This is a great laptop in this price range for those who use a laptop like I do. I buy a new laptop every two years or so just to update, and I have done this for the past ten years, and I usually spend about 300-350 each time. Mechanics get sloppy, batteries get weak, specs get better; I like to upgrade every two years. I don't buy $700+ laptops because I don't need them. I web, stream, email, remote desktop to work, bla bla bla. I don't do [high res] graphics, gaming, etc. I do what I think 90%+ of consumers do with their laptops at home. This time I am replacing a two year old Lenovo 15" laptop with about the same specs in regards to CPU, only 4g ram, and same 1tb HDD (and not the Lenovo touchpad lockups!!!) . First good news was that my HP weighed in at 92oz on my scale, and my old one was 80oz. So, 3/4 pound for 2" more screen, I am okay with that. I am not carrying this thing around all day, so a little weight gain means nothing. Performance so far is pretty good. Quite a bit of HP bloatware, but that is expected; just takes a little while to clear it out. Windows 10 acts as it should. Network/wifi connects fine and no issues. Keyboard is responsive and keys are at a good height and feel solid. Plenty of sound volume for inboard laptop speakers, better than my previous few machines. 1600x900 display is pretty darn sharp. Machine just feels solid, not flimsy like the past couple I have had; you can pick it up in the corner and it doesn't bend. Touchpad performance is a bit odd off the bat, but it has nice software to make adjustments. Once I got it like I like it, it works just fine ............. although the entire touchpad is a bit different than a traditional pad + buttons affair. The whole thing is covered in a plate, and there is no separation between the pad and buttons. It is a little weird, and if you are one like me that likes to tap the middle of the pad, it is a little loud and I will have to adjust to tap the bottom more ............. but to be honest, every time you get a new laptop, you have to adjust to how you tap as all machines are a little different, so again not a biggie. Specs state 2800mah battery, but mine came with a 2620mah. Not sure what is up with that. With full charge, Windows states I have 4.5 hours battery left, so I don't have issue with that. For a $400 machine, I don't see any real negatives with this device. With cloud storage/servers/external drives, I don't think anyone really needs 1tb of data on their laptop, but hey, never hurts to have too much. 6gb of ram is nice over the usual 4gb in this price range. But for me, the 17" monitor is the kicker. I don't think you can beat this laptop for this money.

It's not the fastest, but It gets the job done. Not a fan of the consolidated mouse pad without separate click buttons. The laptop is great for light computing, email, shopping, etc. I had a problem with audio when connecting the hdmi output. Battery life is decent. The display is very nice. Rich deep color. Hate all the pre-installed garbage. Ads pop up... I have many issues with Win 10, but that's another review.

The big screen is great for watching movies. However the picture is not as crisp as I would like. The screen also appears dark if you look from the wrong angle. I have no it been able to figure out how to make it a generic user so that we don't have to sign into my account to use the computer. I do like the size of the screen and how slim it is. I wish I would have gone with the 8GB though
