I have been using this computer now for less than 2 weeks so still too early for a completely accurate review. I researched this unit for weeks prior to ordering; reviewing specs, watching videos, and choosing this model because I was so tired of the large towers and multiple cable wiring; hardware is located in a cabinet and it was very difficult to move anything with all the cables. This is more of a cautionary tale if you are a senior and not extremely computer savvy! The videos show an instant hookup, kind of like taking it out of the box and boom, ready to go, and based on this information I decided that I could do this all by myself! What the YouTube reviewers and HP instructions fail to explain is that IF you are hooking up to an older monitor, printer and camera (mine are 6 years old) you must do a crash course in VGA and DVI cable connections, wireless printer connections, external optical disk drives (needed to upload software) and wireless speakers. I plan to replace the wireless keyboard that came with this computer; it is just not the quality HP keyboard that I had. If you do decide to go 21st century and wireless, I think it is absolutely necessary to do some research if this is your first computer hookup!

We bought this computer to replace a five year old Acer Revo as a HTPC. I replaced mcafee with webroot to save some resources for the fun stuff. Have it running itunes with the library on an external and Xmbc referencing a different external. Both programs run well and are able to stream video smoothly. I have it plugged into the network via an Ethernet cable over a inline power adapter so can't speak to the wifi. I'm also using a combined mouse keyboard from Logitech and not the supplied one. The only issue we have is trying to run minecraft. Bad mouse response and freezes. Checked task manager and when running Java is using a lot of memory. Overall I think it's going to be a great HTPC for the money but will be investing in some more ram to help it out. If no intention of gaming, no need to go upto the 030 version.

Makes a great little compact computer. Only a Pentium but is pretty snappy when you take off some of the bloatware. Not sure about the reviewer who says it was so slow. Not a photo editing computer, but makes a great HTPC or base computer for Microsoft Office, streaming videos, email etc. Very easy to upgrade with M.2 slot where you can add a second hard drive. Easy to upgrade RAM as well. Upgraded to Windows 10 at first boot up, don't remember how long it was but did not take too long. Very happy with this purchase.

I added another 4gb ram which is fairly easy. I would like to put a ss hard drive but I don't think the adapter is available at a reasonable price yet.
I enjoy the size and price. It does come wiyh a wireless mouse and keyboard which is a nice feature that some others don't have.

I just purchased this "mini" pc from HP and configured it as a media PC using KODI (XBMC). The pros are: small size and weight, 7200 RPM drive, and good price for what it does. The cons (& why I only gave 4 stars) are: it has 4 usb (3) ports but one is needed for a Bluetooth dongle (specs say Bluetooth is "integrated" (NOT!), directions are non existent, the wireless keyboard has no on/off switch so you can't tell how long batteries will last, there is no visible disk drive indicator, and finally I attempted to contact HP on their support line asking about the non existent integrated Bluetooth and finally hung up after waiting a half hour on hold. I did post this as a question on their "support page" and we'll see if that brings some intelligent answer.
This IS a great PC but a few instructions would be helpful including how to remove batteries from the keyboard. I finally figured that out by exerting a great amount of force outward.
Update 2/24/15
I have purchased the 4GB upgrade and installed it. This mini now has much more power and speed than my large Gateway workstation. Upgrade cost $31.99, involved removing 7 screws, and plugging in the new memory (10 minutes work). I have been monitoring the heat from this small unit and it is mildly warm after running many hours. I thought about adding a solid state hard drive (it has another slot, believe it or not) and we'll see in the future. It boots up to the desktop in 28 seconds after removing the HP bloat ware. I also have discovered that this unit DOES have integrated Bluetooth and I assumed wrong originally. The keyboard/mouse combo included is in fact a wireless (non Bluetooth) keyboard with a dongle that requires you to use one of the four USB ports or purchase a Bluetooth version which will not need a port. I am leaving the four stars as I don't believe that HP is too responsive to user queries.

This PC not only fits anywhere in your home, its also easily transportable. Though it does support Windows10, It did seem a bit sluggish after the download. I would suggest staying with 8.1 if you do not have a business need for 10. Otherwise this product is a great value for a user such as myself who only looks at his e-mail, does his banking online and uses the Office Suite for business correspondence.

It could have just been me, but this product ended up with a corrupted hard drive less than a month after purchase. Yes, it was still under warranty and could have been repaired or replaced ( I suspect it was an issue with Win 8.1), I chose not to as this was computer #2 that died in the same month and returned it with no issue. Service at Best Buy was great, product not so much. I just needed something simple and didn't really need anything portable, though this can be. This seemed to be a perfect fit. It includes wireless keyboard and mouse which was nice. As stated previously, it ran on Windows 8.1 which may have been it's downfall. I did not upgrade to Windows 10. Four days before the month is out, the anti-virus turned itself off (this was the 30 day trial of whatever it came with) and it was a struggle to turn it back on or Windows Defender for that matter. Could not download new anti virus or delete any other programs.
So I can't really recommend this computer. It worked fine for the little I had it, until it didn't. There are probably better choices out there for small, semi-portable for the same price. And don't purchase it with windows 8.1 or upgrade it to 10 because that will definitely kill it too.

This little computer turned out to be very handy. I can easily move it to any of my TV's to instantly turn them into a "Smart TV". Not only that but it is very easy to create a home group with all the computers in the house, so I can access any file on my desktop. No more having to save things on USB drives and transfer big movie files. I also really like the idea of being able to take this little thing on Vacation.

I was not expecting this level of performance from something so small.
It did all I wanted of it, and I can pack it into my briefcase.
The hard drive 500 gb, is larger than my previous laptop.

Product is small, little bigger than a Roku. It is performing as needed for basic web browsing and running programs. No heat issues, yet, & device sits inside my desk drawer. I had a general idea of what I was wanting (after my recent Dell MB died) but didn't initially see what I wanted in the store. Austin?? at the Southaven, MS location assisted me. I explained what I was wanting & what I planned to do with PC. I was very particular, but he never questioned any of my concerns. He was bright and knowledgeable. He's smart & quick, too-moving all over the place trying to find what would fit my needs. In all, I am extremely pleased with the assistance and product. To the point, I returned and utilized Austin to purchase 2 new laptops. Again, he went above and beyond with me & my GF to ensure we received a device that would meet our needs and would be happy with. Too bad BestBuy only sends random surveys for purchase rather than allowing customers to survey w/ receipt code like before. I purchase a $20 adapter & get a survey email - buy $3,000 of computers & nothing. HA.

This PC sits up in the ceiling to run a TV in our conference room. Slideshows, office applications, web surfing, and other basic software. Came with windows 8.1 home but upgraded to Windows 10 PRO for $100 from Microsoft. Took a bit to get the HP bloatware off. There was a bit. The included wireless mouse and keyboard didn't give the range I needed, so I picked up another 2.4 ghz set. Otherwise, no issues

Purchased this 6 weeks ago to turn my TV into a "Smart" TV. Quick install right from the box, which was great! I did update to Windows 10 immediately, which took a couple of hours, but wanted to get it done & over with. If you do this, but don't like the new Microsoft Edge, you'll need to use the search bar to find Internet Explorer & pin it to your desktop (or use IE to download Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.). Super discreet system fits easily into any area, right on top of the cable/satellite box. Boots up quickly & is ready to go within 1 minute flat! The supplied wireless keyboard & mouse are great, as long as you aren't too far from the computer... 7-8 feet seems to be the maximum range.

Very easy to set up. Product did just what it was supposed to. Very quiet, concise, easily transportable which makes it sort of like a laptop, as with power and hdmi you can bring it with you on trips, travel, etc.

Solid Little PC With Bad Wireless

This is actually my second of these little PCs. I was surprised with the first one that it came with a keyboard and mouse for the price.
As sold it is a good solid machine. The wifi is slow and does periodically drop. I replaced it with a Netgear USB adapter and all is well.
I upgraded to Windows 10 hoping the interface would be easier for my parents. The wifi went from being slow to completely non-functional. I think that is more of an indictment of 10 than the PC, but I would recommend waiting a while.
