New Model Takes Flight. And It Really Can Fly !

I returned a lesser malfunctioning HP model and this new arrival simply jumped off the shelf demanding to be taken home. It cost $100.00 more. The difference in performance for the modest price increase is simply astounding. This is an excellent choice for all around computing. And, the case isn't Black ! What a novel idea. This machine screams and does it in style. The upgraded wireless (N) is a huge improvement, 6GB Ram, 640 GB Hard Drive, dedicated video (256 MB), and Quad Core. I'm now an HP (Happy Person).

Bought two of these about a month ago, one for my wife and one for me. Very pleased with the performance. I already knew that if I wanted to turn these into a gaming machine I needed to upgrade the video card and power supply. I went with two antec 650 watt P.S. and two 9800 GT 1 gig memory video cards. I have ran AOC at full graphics, WoW at full graphics and have absolutely no lag what so ever. Very quiet as well. Great buy, and room to upgrade as I did, now to take advantage of 8 gigs of ram and I will be done.

I had a terrible experience with an Asus that I took back and I ended up buying this HP. I've always been a Dell guy actually but those are way over priced these days. I did a little research on the AMD and HP overall and decided to try it. I'm so happy I did. This machine is fast! So far I can run atleast 5 programs with no slow down. It uploads and downloads very fast. The built in wireless is great for my current living situation and it'll be nice to know it's their even when I stop using it that way. It's very quiet overall. It has a ton of memory. It could be a bit smaller but that would likely make it less upgradeable so I really can't complain about that. The keyboard and mouse are fine. I'm not a PC gamer (I do that on the 360) so I can't say much about that. If you like to just surf the web, download music and movies, load pictures, play on myspace or facebook it's great. I'm sure it can do much more as well. It was about $100 less when I bought mine. At the current $859 price I'd still buy it.

    Outstanding Machine

I planned on spending about $500 for a new tower since I didn't need anything else, however when I saw this machine for only $150 more at $650 with a quad core, great graphics card, 6G of ram with wireless N, it seemed like a great deal. The machine looks great, performs great with Vista (fast and stable), Office apps, photo editing and web surfing. Also after all the bad press about Vista, this machine is my first experience with Vista and so far I like the OS more than XP.

When my old computer didn't meet the minimum system requirements for a game I wanted, I knew it was time to upgrade. I went in looking for a Gateway bundle I had seen in the paper, but was too late. The deal was already gone. Then a very helpfull BestBuy employee helped me out by offering some other bundles. He suggested this Phoenix bundle and I was hooked. Granted it was a bit more than I originally wanted to spend, but it is well worth the extra hundred or so dollars. Very quiet, very fast, and very stylish. While I was there the employee who helped me out before, offered some info on secrity programs and Geek Squad services. I picked up Internet Security and a Restoration Disk and two hours later I was off and running! My only problem with it is the fact that it runs on Vista x64, and the majority of my old software is not compatable. That and the keyboard takes a little getting used to. All in all one epic computer. Would recomend this to anyone in the market for a new computer!

Very good value for the price. This pc performs very well and you can load up the number of programs running at once with no issues. The only gotcha is the Vista 64 bit, ended up having to buy a new printer since there was not a 64 bit driver for the one I had and also had to upgrade to Photoshop Elements 7 since I could not get 6 to work.

Well i bought this pc 2 days ago, I was stuck between purchasing this desktop or a Dell XPS. While I have upgraded Power Supply and Graphics Card for gaming purposes. This PC does exactly what it was intended to do. Its fast and quiet, stays pretty cool which help performance. I wouldn't suggest doing any firmware updates from HP at the moment. Seems their BIOS update is not working. I actually need to take it back to Best Buy to get my BIOS reflashed. I guess my 2 year plan will come in handy. All in all, Great PC !

I usually build my machines. I havent had the time. I wanted an AMD based machine. When i walked into best buy, the salesman was very knowledgeable. I usually dont like HP products. But the salesman opened the case and i discovered it was very upgradable. This machine is exremely worth the money. It has done everything I wanted it to do. Every game i have thrown at it, it took it and asked for more. All in all, for the money, it was worth it.

    WOW!!!

I need to start off by saying this is the first desktop purchase I have ever made, 6 years since my last computer purchase. I am coming from a 15" laptop so this is a huge step. Utilizing the "In-store" pickup was great while purchasing online was a breeze. I bought the package deal the first weekend it was available on the site...I received an amazing price from Best Buy! This desktop, the w1907 lcd, and the F2480 printer all for $749.97!!! You just could not beat that price anywhere, period. When I brought the computer home and was a snap to get everything setup. After firing it up it was operational within about 15 minutes. Coming from XP I noticed a big difference with the Vista x64 OS. It is very smooth and the interface is easy to use. I recommend cleaning out most of the "bundled" software that comes pre-installed, i.e. it ryhmes with "Horton." I wont even touch that subject. ;-) Pound for pound this machine is a powerhouse for the price. There is tremendous value when compared to other machines. I am very happy with my purchase and the service I receive at my local BB. I would highly recommend this desktop to anyone!

    WOW

My uncle has it and WOW. It was performing ultra fast. Also, it's Vista! Who doesn't love that?! XP is just a load of junk that some people call "reliable". Anyone who says that is a liar because every XP based computer crashes faster than Vista. Some idiotic ITs say that "it's horrendous and unreliable"!!! Really, can you just deal with it looking high-class and ultra-fast? Some people just never change because they're stuborn. Also, AMD is a trillion times better than Intel because it gives you high speed. I have Athlon X2 64 bit and is fast but this desktop is twice as powerful!! It was a bit big, but who cares?!

    Great Computer, no HP support

I have had the computer less than a month. When the speaker cable to the monitor failed I contacted HP. If you need assistance from HP, good luck. I replaced the cable with one of my own to prove a bad cable. That was not good enough for HP. They insisted I do numerous other items until I became so frustrated I gave up. If this is any indication of their customer support, I think it is fair to say you are on your own. Make friends with the Best Buy Geeks. If you need support, they are the only hope.

As an architecture major at school, we're always running high-performance programs like CAD and Photoshop and beyond. This computer allows me to run multiple of these at once without blinking. It also cuts rendering time in half for digital modeling! To top it off, wireless internet and Lightscribe in addition to all its other features make it ideal for a student like me with plenty of storage space for projects plus photos and music. I caught this tower bundled with a 19" screen (seems SO much bigger than my 15" laptop!) and All-in-one printer for around $750. I tried building a comparable one on the HP website and it was nearly $1000 with the monitor while missing a couple features plus you don't get the graphic front (the pictures here don't do it justice)! This is my 4th HP computer, but first desktop - you just can't beat HP's quality and features for the price!
