The laptop is very light weight and perfectly sized for traveling. I love the fact that it doubles as a large tablet for when I want to walk around with it.

After 2 months the laptop is working as one would expect. I've not had any glitches related to either hardware or software to date. I'm using a wire keyboard and mouse as well. The Unit is sleek in design and has plenty of external ports. This particular model was only available online. A very similar model is in the store, however, this has a slight better display... And for the same price. I'm not a gamer or on this 10 hours a day so can't speak to that level of use, however, based on 6+ hours with normal wear (Word, Excel, etc.) it does just fine.

Windows 10 freezes a lot. I have to shut the computer off and start over at least twice an hour. I'm going back to being an apple consumer.

My unit arrived 5/18. The part number N5S10UA#ABA is on the box. It shows up as that and (series number) 13-4194dx on the paperwork. On the back of the unit it has, in very fine print, 13-4193dx and N5S04UA#ABA which is the Ash Silver version (go figure??). They have identical specs – except for the color. I talked to BestBuy. They offered to exchange it. I said I would keep it. We corrected the paperwork for Warranty reasons. I verified the specs after arrival. It is as advertised! I studied all Laptops for 2 months (with a $1K budget). Wanted an i7 (2.5GHz) for speed – most web sites include video which slowed down my old Netbook. Wanted a SSD (bump-proof – (no moving parts) and faster). Wanted a 512 HD but too much $$. I have a 128GB thumb drive (for $35) for any future requirements. (This has 256GB). Without video, I only used 100GB on the old machine anyway. Really glad I got the QHD screen (almost) breathtaking. Wanted a keyboard – less effort than “touch”. My wife will be quick to confirm – “Yes, he is that lazy”! But, I can lay on my side on the couch, rotate and lock the screen, fold and go to full tablet mode. Appearance – well a black case is totally functional, but the silver is one of those slightly selfish “I do deserve this” moments! After I had done some research on BestBuy and ALL other websites (HP, Lenovo, ASUS, Acer etc.), I went to Best Buy (40 miles away) to actually look. Did more research, comparison – watched the fleeting “sales” and waited. This showed up for $999, verified the specs and did it. Thank you BestBuy – you have a store (but I bought from you online). And yes, really comparable units sell for $1,250 up! Jack Pittsfield, MA

    Excellent Convertible Ultrabook

The first thing you need to decide is if you really want a hybrid computer verses a standard (old school) laptop. If you want a hybrid then you have to decide if you want a pure 2-in-1 or a convertible like the x360. I own a Surface Pro 3 (keeping it) and now the HP Spectre x360. I know HP and BB call the x360 a 2-in-1 but there has to be a distinction between a fold-back and a detachable keyboard. The best part of the convertible x360 is it can sit on your lap just like a standard laptop. Not so easy to do with the Surface Pro. On the other hand the Surface Pro truly turns into a tablet when you detach the keyboard. Happy to have both available to me. But I have no problem using the x360 in tablet mode although it is a bit more difficult to handle than the Surface Pro. Pros of the x360: This model (13-4193dx) is very fast. Excellent touch screen (2560 x 1440). And the keyboard layout was perfect for me. Battery life is the best I have seen in an ultrabook. Cons: Power button is on the side, very small and took me a few days to get used to where it is located.
