The laptop build is solid, its looks are awesome and the top specs make it fast and wonderful to use. The touchpad is top notch and very responsive while the keyboard is very easy to use and feels just right. The battery life for this model is around 7-8 hrs continuous moderate use. The touchscreen is very responsive and the QHD screen looks crispy.
The only negatives I can think of are- the bottom runs warm during heavy usage (probably due to the aluminium body), I expected faster and snappier performance from the SSD and the i7, but its good nonetheless.

I have had this computer for a month now and I could not be more pleased. The first unit I bought was defective but I brought it back same day and they exchanged it after verifying my claim. The computer is everything I wanted. I have tried for the last year to replace my work laptop with an I-pad with constant shortcomings. This is the best of both worlds. Light small and the fastest yet still a lap top with all the plug in needs. I could ever ask for. First time I am fully happy a month in.

HP turning the corner with a Great Mac Alternative

I've used both MacBook Air and HP EliteBooks for work and this is definitely on par with the Mac and although it's a consumer notebook I prefer it over HP's EliteBook for work. It's the best built HP laptop I've ever used and also very sleek, plus the most functional with all the ports I need (perhaps with exception of Thunderbolt). It's unibody design and feels very solid while still very light/thin. I've built some fairly large PPT decks with lots of embedded video and it holds up well (files up to 1gb). Tablet mode and touchscreen are bonus and I'm finding ways to use them where I hadn't been able to in the past.
The screen resolution is incredible. It's comparable to Apple's Retina, but does use battery faster than the lower end option.
All in, I'm very impressed and this has been the first PC notebook I've had that delivers an experience on par with Mac. Would highly recommend to prosumers or anyone looking for a great work notebook.

Having used Apple for the last decade or so, I figured it was time to update my daily driver. I'm very impressed with the build quality of this notebook. This is the one I now take with me when I travel. I thought I wouldn't make much use of the folding features, but I like how I can have the keyboard up front when I need it, but also not have to reach over the same keyboard when I'm using it in tent mode.

I absolutely love my new HP laptop! Great product! I am so happy with my purchase. I use it full time for work and also for personal use. It is so light to travel with! The backlight of the keyboard is very helpful. Transitioning from a laptop to tablet is a GREAT added feature. I have not found anything wrong with the Spectre yet!! Absolutely love!

I've tried the Lenovo 2-in-1 Yoga's - this HP is far and above the best laptop, much more 2-in-1 I've had!!
I love the slim profile, the feel of the keyboard, the awesome performance and the coolness (doesn't overheat at all!).
It has sufficient performance to run as a business laptop, even complex Excel spreadsheets. It also has enough performance to run some online games (I got it to play Tomb Raider online on Steam).
I highly recommend it!

I really like this machine. The main issues are with the software. Not all the kinks are worked out. I often find myself encountering an annoying problem that I will have to google and agonize over because I assume it will be simple but it turns out being a total pain. A good example is the trackpad. I don't mind the size or anything about the hardware. Again, it's a software issue. The customization and settings interface looks like it's from windows 95. When I tried to adjust the two finger scroll to my liking, it changed it for some applications but not all. So I've had to just learn a new way of scrolling. Another example: when I upgraded to windows 10, the automatic screen rotation (for tablet or tent mode) stopped working and there is no way to do it manually. I had to google it and poke around in forums for a while to find the solution which included sourcing and downloading an updated driver. If I were less capable with computers I would have needed to take it in to get serviced which would have driven me insane. A few minor hardware issues: I wish the keyboard had a way to adjust different levels of brightness. They say the HP Spectre copied the mac book pro but it missed a couple of the great mac book pro attributes. Why not copy more! I love the magnetic charger connection on macs. Why not add that?
The camera is bad. I half expected that, but it's worse than expected.
Overall, I do really like this computer. It's sleek, pretty fast, I really like the tent mode and tablet options, the touch screen works well.

I was really worried within the first week of this purchase because I kept dropping the wireless signal and was ready to send it back to the factory. But when I put my old PC back online, it started dropping the signal too. So, I bought a new router and now this machine works flawlessly. It is the fastest PC I have ever had, boot up is quick and the touch screen, the keyboard and all other features have been excellent. Having a Solid State Drive is the way to go! I highly recommend this HP Spectre after three weeks of ownership.

It makes me appreciate my MacBook Air 2012, time of sleep mode much better in MacBook Air. Also I am not used to Windows 8.1. I enjoy the computer because of ISP screen. Also the time to use Cyberdirector to edit movies is quicker than I am used to. I think I will enjoy this computer more and more. I am coming from Apple universe. (iPad, MacBook Air, iMac)

This computer starts up in less than 20 seconds and has never slowed down during operation. It is extremely lightweight--the ultimate in portability. I used to avoid traveling with my laptop and rely on my smartphone. Now I won't even leave for a day trip without it. I have it docked using an Anker 3.0 docking station and connected to two Asus 21534 LED HD monitors, an external keyboard and mouse. Setup was as easy as it gets and the graphics card fully supports the dual monitor setup. I changed the settings to keep it powered on when I shut the lid as long as it is plugged into power, so it works like a dedicated docking station.

I've had this laptop for a few days now and I have been testing it's capabilities. The laptop is lghtweight and thin with a great sturdy finish. The 4K display is beautiful and the processor speed is outstanding. I like the idea of the 2 in 1 and how this computer flawlessly handles the change from laptop to tablet and vice versa. A lot of people have questioned me about this laptop with a lot of them thinking it was worth a lot more. Overall I am happy with this laptop. I think HP has a hit in their hand and if this version of laptop came in 15" they would even sell a lot more. The only issue I've had with the laptop was the trackpad where it was extremely sensitive (hence the minus 1 star, really I would say it is not even 1 star deduction more like a half star but best buy does not have a half star). I disabled the gestures on the trackpad. Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Did my research before purchasing. This is lightweight, fast, and works well for me. I'm a road warrior and am looking for the best device to travel with. Although no cd drive, the cheap-o $29 one we got to install my already owned software worked great and this machine had no issues with it. Love this device! BTW, I'd consider this the apple alternative for those of us who don't purchase apple or i anything....
