Other than the display not being HD; this is just the right size, weight and speed. This is not a "laptop" in the full sense (no ethernet but you can get a USB adapter). I did disable the S mode once I decided I was going to keep it. If you want something bigger than a tablet with a full keyboard with good speeds and easy to travel with; this is a very good option.

Once the ridiculous 'S mode' is removed (a fairly easy process), the laptop becomes fully usable. Granted, the digital disk drive is small, but one can always attach an external drive. Do not expect to edit high-definition videos with ease, but for a basic computer, this laptop will do everything.

I've been using this laptop for almost three weeks now and I think it's great! I like how it's very lightweight and thin, so it's easy to carry around with me, and it turns on/boots up very quickly. I flip the laptop open and I'm logged on in like two seconds (no lag-time). I purchased this particular laptop for those reasons, and so far I am very pleased with my purchase. I also bought this particular laptop because it comes with a free one-year subscription for Microsoft Office Word, etc. I mostly use this laptop to surf the Internet, check e-mail, and use Microsoft Word, etc. I would recommend this laptop to anyone looking for the same reasons.

If you adjust your expectations and realize the bang for the buck you are getting out of this purchase you would be as pleased as I am. Best Buy reps as well-meaning as they are will do their best to steer you clear of this type of laptop, however, if you take a closer look and examine what you intend to use the machine for it might be a great fit. Note this laptop will not run modern PC games period. However, it will run handheld game emulators really well and browser-based games also run great. So there is certainly fun to be hand on your spare time. Here are some pros and cons of the laptop. Pros: Amazing battery life. Surprisingly speedy performance. (The processor has 4 mg of cache and the ram is DDR4 so the internal components are very modern.) Cons: There is limited storage only 49 gigabytes are available for use. Keyboard and trackpad are not great but they are certainly usable. The webcam is extremely bad. The plastic exterior of the laptop doesn't have any screws so it is probably really difficult to open the laptop up, so that means repairs are going to be costly and difficult. Pro Tip: This is a Windows 10s machine. When you boot up the machine you will be unable to download .exe files like other browsers, but that can be fixed by attempting to download something and following a few prompts.

This computer has been a great purchase for a college student. It is quick, light weight, and an overall great computer. Not a lot of space to store high quality pics, but a great computer for my needs.

Laptop does what it’s supposed To do. No extra bells and whistles. Speed is fast enough. If you need it for any large memory usage or gaming I’d look elsewhere. Basic internet and Microsoft usage is fine.

This computer has good capabilities. Didn't get 5 star because memory storage is smaller than I anticipated. Size and weight make it perfect for travel or to stream a show in the airport. Comfortable to work on and I strangely like the plastic case which seems robust.

I had been searching for a new computer for more then a year. I found this and I was so happy. It’s great for office work and internet surfing. It has wonderful battery life and is user friendly.

Just right as my travel companion. Not the fastest, lightest, biggest storage or memory, but fine for my purposes. The 64GB SSD is adequate for the OS and apps with a 256GB SD card for storage of documents, media and anything else not to clutter the SSD. Good size screen without adding weight and bulk. 3.0 USB ports are very useful. Battery lasts a long time without having to plug in the charger - good for airplane flights or working at restaurants or anywhere else without access to power. Key board is fine, sound is good, AC charger is compact and not a heavy brick, clean slim case design. I like it and satisfied with the performance.

My sister chose this laptop for the cheap price but honestly just get a better laptop in payments because it is very cheap and slow and has barely any memory for homework's ans downloads

Purchased for my daughter for her to use while away at college. very lightweight and easy to transport back and forth to and from campus. Everything you expect from a HP product. Reliable and easy to use.

Works good and was on sale for a good price trying to get used to a new toy takes a little time but for now it has been a great learning experience.I like having my tablet very much.

My 10 year old saved up and bought this laptop and she’s loved it. It’s been perfect for her homeschooling and occasional recreation.

Its a good looking laptop, it feels nice and light. A little too slow for a brand new computer but it does the job. For the price, you cant beat it.

I am not using my computer for anything other than social media, sports stories & listening to music.

Decent starter laptop. Purchased for my son to go to college with. It is a bit slow but performs all necessary task he will need for school. Comes with Microsoft office for a year which was an added bonus. Does the basics needed to write papers and submit homework so he should have no issues for freshman year.

I bought each of my kids one of these a little over a year ago, and they use them daily. We haven’t had one issue with these laptops in that time. Good for their needs.

I’ve had this laptop for weeks now, and the battery life is amazing! I’ve read through the negative reviews, and I cannot agree with them. Great laptop!
