Nice quality pictures and video especially water pics. Can't beat the price. Nice size for hand. Only wish it had a separate power button. Surprised that no view finder is not an issue. Great for beginners.

I bought this before going on a cruise I wanted something small that I could just snap picture and go through them later. This turned out to be the perfect camera for it! We did several water activities and was able to stick it in my life jacket and snap pictures as we went! It was awesome!

Similar to a Go camera but more flexible as I carry it in my pocket to use wherever I go. Use with and without the download app (free) that allows me to see what I am shooting. Connecting to my computer allows me to select photos to save, delete and use, especially for online sharing. I find using this camera better than trying to use the camera on my iPhone and the photo quality is great. I have posted many photos online after downloading them to my computer. It suits my needs and I am still exploring possibilities for other uses. The flat base allows me to take selfies from a distance using the smart phone app as I align the photo and put the camera on a stable surface or stand. I am really glad I made this purchase at a reasonable price. The video feature is short but good quality. I attached two sample photos I have taken at a store and one of my Halloween props.

I bought this camera to vlog on our honeymoon. It is incredible! You will either have to download the app to your smartphone or connect it to the computer. The app is really simple to use. I was able to take it in the air during parasailing because of the wristlet and the fact that its waterproof. We were so happy the quality, and that we were able to film that event.

I really like this little very portable camera and carry it everywhere I go. In fact, I now find myself using it more often than any other camera I own or even my smart phone.
The HTC Re app on Android is a bit slow to connect initially, but once you've connected the Re camera to your phone, you can use your phone as a viewfinder and remote control.
There are some cons to this device, but that shouldn't stop you from considering purchasing it. They are: a so so battery life, especially when recording video, poor low light photos and the lack of optical image stabilization. I wish it could record 1080p at 60fps, but the video the Re captures is great regardless.
The pros of the Re camera are numerous and outshine the cons outlined above. The positive aspects are numerous: extreme portability, awesome fisheye lens photos (I only take pictures with the fish eye lens turned on), waterproof, slow motion and time lapse videos.

I typical read a lot of reviews, but I do not write at all, however this product is great and I wanted to review. I was looking for a small action camera for when we went on vacation that was inexpensive and simple to operate. This product is just that not fancy but simple to use an affordable. While we were on vacation I received so much attention from others wanting to know what I was using, it's so small and lite that's it is not intrusive an you can slip into pocket or wristlets. I didn't want the go pro to complicated for me. The RE is water proof and takes great still or video the audio is decent also. I actually crack mine while on vacation since I screwed into the tripod, since I had the insurance best buy replaced with no issues. I love this so much I will be buying for my brother and family for x mas to use at sporting events. It's great for kids or anyone looking for action camera.

I really enjoy using the HTC Re camera. I admit it does have some down sides, but for the simplicity, ease of taking a picture and portability it is hard not like. My kids love using it to simply point and shoot. It is easy to hold, not awkward at all. I think the picture quality is quite good.I haven't used the video feature much yet, no no issues there either. I have not tried in low lighting environments.
I like the time lapse feature and found a rather interesting use for it, by taking animated videos. My next fun project with the kids.
The down side to the HTC Re is the lack of a view finder and the need to change camera settings through your smart phone. I have an AT&T LG G2 and have no problems connecting the Re. I am fine with the lack of view finder, since its purpose is to quickly take a picture (spur of the moment).
The live streaming to you tube is cool, I haven't tried it, but I can see a use for it for live bloggers and similar social media events to share with friends or family.
I got this on sale for $100, and would definitely recommend a purchase at that price point. If you can benefit from all the features it provides, then spending $200 is worth it.

Not for professional use or museum tours, but for those weekends where you and the family are going to the park or the beach, it's extremely useful. The camera is small and simple to use. It lacks a viewfinder unless you use the phone app, so it's not as well suited for those 'Family in front of the park sign' shots since it's likely to be off center and crooked, but if you want a picture of the kids cannon-balling into the pool next to you, or a zip-line view of the world it's great.
App works as advertised, but takes over the WIFI, I think (not a tech person). Time laps is decent since it saves 2MP photos with video, but wish it included a burst photo or continuous photo mode for coaster rides.

Fit My Needs

I bought this to use while riding my motorcycle. I didn't want a Go Pro that I needed to mount on my bike or helmet and a normal digital camera is to difficult to use with my left hand while riding. The Re camera was easy to put on a lanyard around my neck so that I could pull it out of my pocket and take a pic or video as I was riding. Unlike a Go Pro I could easily point it at whatever I wanted, including behind me.
The downside of this camera is that it is difficult to tell if you're taking a photo or video. The light is so tiny I couldn't see it out in the sunlight. I got some nice pics and videos but I also got a ton of messed up ones, including long videos inside of my pocket.
I think practice will help and I am glad I purchased this little camera!

This camera is incredibly convenient, even more so than a smart phone or dedicated point & shoot. Just pick it up and shoot, no need to worry about waiting for a screen or lens to turn on and no navigating to your camera app.
The problem is that automation also means you don't get any control over picture settings, so in dark areas (anything darker than outdoors), you'll end up with useless still pictures due to motion blur. Video fairs much better, just don't expect this to replace your still camera.
That said, this has some nice video features like live streaming to YouTube and slow motion video. While I wouldn't recommend anyone pay full price for it, if you can get it on sale, it's a great little gadget.

You have to do your research when buying this camera and know its limitations. The main one being this this camera has no built in viewfinder. It does everything it advertises pretty well and the pictures mostly come out really well and you get a feel for what your picture will look like after a while. The battery does only last the 1.5 hours of video recording but, you can have it plugged and while charging if you like. All around good product .

This cam was more of an impulse buy. Saw it for a great price on Black Friday last year and bought it. My original intentions for using this was just to record video of band practices and so on. Being able to use the app on my phone as a remote control and lens viewer is good for that sort of thing. Just taking still pictures and video are of great quality. I brought this cam along on a trip to South Korea and Japan and used it pretty much exclusively over my phone and other camera. It is just so convenient to pull this thing out and aim and snap some pictures. Very fast and effective. I find it a nuisance to open up a camera app on my phone and softly aim and focus and blah blah. Taking pictures with the HTC RE is a much superior experience. Sure you might think it is awkward aiming the RE and taking pictures blind, but most of the time all the pictures still come out great and centered and so on. I cant recommend the RE enough, I would buy it over again if anything ever happened to mine.

I actually picked up one on black Friday for $99 and once I realized how great it was I picked up two more for each of my daughters for Christmas. Yes some phones have great cameras and obviously ois would have made the RE perfect. For $200 it's a reach but if you can find one for $150 or less grab it. It is so easy to set up and even easier to use. I filmed our entire Christmas morning and no one knew until I played the video on our TV later that night. The pictures are top notch and the videos are even better. It is so easy and convenient to use. Yes people stare when they see you using it but once you show them the pics/videos they ask where they can buy one. If you have children or just enjoy taking quick photos on the fly I highly recommend the RE.

My cousin had a HTC re and she highly recommended me to purchase one, which I did. At first it took some time to get used to without having a viewfinder (unless you want to use it with the re app), but at the same time it's convenient to just point and shoot as the camera pretty much captures what your eyes can see. You can always crop the photos if necessary. I took it with me to my Bryce Canyon trip last week and it has proven its usefulness. When I was too lazy to take out my iPhone, I used re.

The RE is easy and fun to use! Point and shoot and it is all instantly on your phone! The video feature and slo-mo features are awesome and SO fun to use! I took this on vacation and it was perfect for the beach without having to take my phone down to the beach! Its also water proof so I got awesome pictures in the ocean! Love it!

Easier to use than the GoPro and cheaper but not quite the quality. However, for the price, it can't be beat. Does great under water too and is just a dream interfacing with your phone. The wide angle photo and video was fantastic on my vacation and I don't even bother with my larger more expensive cameras.

I love this camera. I carry it with me all the time in my cell phone bag. It's so light and quick and easy to use. It's much easier to grab this camera and take a quick snapshot or even a quick video rather than getting my cell phone out. Picture quality is good and video is excellent. However it's design does spook people sometimes. But really it's a fun camera to use.

For those who like to take a lot of photos and videos without having to take out your phone, the HTC Re camera is a must have. Image quality is excellent (you must hold it steady for a second when taking a pic otherwise it will be blurry). Great for selfies and wide-angle shots. The best thing about this is how speedy and convenient it is when you want to take a photo, way faster and launching the camera on your smartphone. Holding the Re is comfortable and it can stand on its own if you want to put it down and record video. Definitely download the Re app as it can make your phone a viewfinder and you can take pics/video using the app.
