Great device but not fully functional.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these smart plugs. Everything works great with the exception of the “Rules” feature. The “Rules” allow one to schedule on & off time for the smart plugs. I’ve had continuous with both smart plugs not working consistently. The smart plugs would work as scheduled for one day. The second day they would either turn on at the scheduled time and not turn off as or they never turned on as scheduled. I spoke with customer service on 2 different occasions. Neither conversation solved the issue. I was given the option of returning the smart plugs to iHome for testing but that defeats the purpose of of owning the smart plugs. I moved both plugs to different rooms. So, they now have a different function. As I am just getting into the smart home technology I will not be buying anymore iHome smart devices.

Posted .We apologize for your experience with the rules. The rules need to be set up in the iHome Control App so they will be stored on the plug itself. If you set up the rules through a third party app, the rules will need to go through the cloud service which could delay or prevent the rule from operating at its scheduled times.

Great for Christmas decorations

The second one I had to attempt four or five times to get it to connect to my network. After getting both connected to my network, they have been working well. i use my iphone to control them. Using an iphone to set them up and connecting to the my network, I had to reset the smart plug first then connect my iphone to the plug using the iphone's settings app. Once in the iphone's settings app, select wifi and the smart plug will be listed there, connect iphone to it and then the iHome app can be used to set up the smart plugs. Once setup in the iHome app the smart plugs can also be controlled by apples Home app. They work well once setup, I thought the setup process could have been a little easier.
