It's wifi control using a smart phone with an additional app. Doesn't work with Wink hub. Amazon echo compatible. If you ever reset the device make sure you kept the manual with a unique code otherwise sol.

Returning this old thing. It may work fine if you’re living in the past, but if you try to keep up, it stinks.

Posted .Thank you for your review. The iSP6X smart plug connects to the 2.4Ghz networks. Most of the newer routers have dual bands (2.4GHz and 5.0GHz). Please separate the 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz networks. Once the SmartPlug has been connected you can connect your iPhone/Android device back to the 5.0 GHz and the Smart plug should operate seamless.

But here the caveat. if you, like me, want to add it to samrthings, the catch is, this one is on wifi and doesnt communicate directly to your hub viea zigbee/zigwave. First you need to download a new app iHome to set it up in your local network, then you can add it. This step creates a zone where the thing sometimes shows as unavailable in the smarthings app. if you want it for ITTT with smarthings, buys something else. if you want to use it with iHome, then this might be for you. Havent tried it directly with apple home kit or alexa, so no comments there.

Posted .Thank you for your comments. Your SmartPlug may benefit from a power cycle. Please remove the iSP6x from the outlet for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. Device works with Apples HomeKit which was what I needed. Set up was a tad difficult but that may have been due to the Apple TV more so than the device itself.
