    These work great out of the box, but seem to be worthless after 6 months or a couple reprogramming cycles.

    Why do I buy such a garbage

    It took me tens of tryings to finally successfully connect it to wifi when I set it up the first time. I thought things would become easier afterwards. But I was wrong, it lost connections with Alexa and Google home randomly, and lost with Siri often. I finally cannt stand it and try reset it just now, and haven’t succed for 20 minuets. What a product! Save you time and money on this one!

    This device doesn’t connect to a 5g network. Interface with apple home is rocky at best

      The iSP6 is designed for 2.4Ghz networks. Most router/modems nowadays are dual band; 2.4Ghz and 5.0 Ghz. Just make sure to select the 2.4 Ghz network when connecting. In addition, make sure that you have the latest firmware for maximum stability.

    Difficult setup

    I had a hard time setting it up. Ended up returning and got a different product.

    Worked well for a month

    This worked well for about a month, and then started failing. Now, it doesn't work at all. I cannot turn it on from the app or from the Echo. I have tried all of the troubleshooting steps, including reseting it and setting it back up and it just will not work. This will be going back for a refund tomorrow.

    Ihome cloud issues

    The product is good but without a working cloud you can't control them .And so far Ihome has had problems every week for days at a time . I have several units but without a working cloud there useless. Needs a stand alone control in the app for this type of issues.

    IHome & HomeKit are a disgrace!

    Garbage! This thing never works! I'm not sure how much of it is iHome's fault and how much is HomeKit's fault, but the device is always "updating" and causes more trouble than it's worth! I wish I would have returned this while I still could.

      Check the DHCP lease time on your router's settings. I found that some routers are set to one week by default. Change it to forever (Or the longest time it gives you) and they shouldn't disconnect anymore.

    It was very challenging trying to make this smart plug work and connect to my Alexa, even after contacting the customer support; I gave up after about an hour. I returned the plug and took another brand.

    Worked just once with Alexa.

    It worked with Alexa only one time. Now it sees the plug but cannot control it. I have been in several sessions online and on the phone with iHome and still cannot use the smartplug with Alexa. That was the whole point.

    Every time that the light goes off !! You need to reset individually each switch to work again !! I bought many of them ! I actually call for replacement but nothing.. I would never buy this item again

    Constantly disconnecting from Apple Home

    I replaced it with iDevices plug after months of fighting and re-adding. We have several Apple Home connections, including HUE, iDevices, August, etc., and this is the only device I have had trouble with.

    Not Compatible with Google Home

    I bought this thinking I could control an outlet with my Google Home, but it doesn't work unless you buy a bridge that it is compatible with. A typical bridge device is at least $100, so it wasn't worth the extra cost.

    I bought this plug and at first it worked fine then about a week into using it it said it can not be linked to my router that it’s not compatible. Still trying to find a fix to the issue

    First day worked well. After that it did not work, even after resetting. Did work if using ihome app, but goal was to work with Sonos One and Alexa. Returned to Best Buy.

    Doesn't work with TVs, so I am using it to control my receiver. a slight pain to install and use especially if you have to reset it.

      The iSP6 works like the older clapper (on and off feature). If you can unplug your TV while it is powered on, and plug it back in without manually touching the power button to turn it on, the plug will work.
