Customers are impressed with the 1.6 Cu. Ft. Top Load Portable Washer's cleaning performance, compact size, and ease of use. Many appreciate the efficient spin cycle, which leaves clothes relatively dry, and the quiet operation during washes. While some found the small wheels less helpful than expected for maneuverability, the overall value and price point are frequently praised.

I was nervous buying this. But absolutely love it! It has a 15min quick wash that is perfect for my laundry. Relatively quiet. Easy to hook up and use! Only downside is only 2 very small wheels. Hard to catch good angle to move machine. But my clothes are so much cleaner than laundry room in my complex. Spins very dry and then I hang on a rack for couple hours. Highly recommend!

    Gets the job done

For all you renters out there, check the details of your lease because having this washer is most likely prohibited. That said, I decided to sneak this into my LA apartment early in the morning because I was absolutely sick of the expensive and smelly community laundry room in my building. Connecting this to my kitchen sink was interesting. My choices were to either unscrew then re attach the sink aerator every time, or to figure out some kind of permanent attachment. See attached photo, I went with option B, and this was the best the employee at Lowe’s could come up with. So, how was my experience actually using this washer? First thing, this washer must be positioned directly in front of the sink. The intake and drain hoses are short, and this machine moves around during the cycle. Second thing, you must stay with this washer the entire time it’s operating. The machine moves around a lot, and if that drain hose falls out of the sink you’ll have a flooded apartment. All I’ve used so far is the short wash cycle, it’s about 17 minutes. It does a decent job of washing clothes, although DO NOT overload the machine or there’s no point. The spin cycle does a good job of drying a small load of clothes, but the two beach towels I washed came out still moderately wet. I bought a four wheel dolly to help move this somewhat heavy machine back and forth from the hall closet to the kitchen. For now, I plan to keep the machine till hopefully I can afford to move somewhere with a real washer and dryer.

This machine is small but mighty. Perfect for small apartments. It was pretty easy to setup just heavy to lift out of the box solo (it’s over 50 pounds). I hook it up to my kitchen sink. Only issues I’ve had is the hose for draining the water has come lose out of the sink twice so you have to make sure you correctly secure it or you’ll have a swimming pool in your house. Only other complaint is it’s heavy. It has 2 wheels which do nothing to help with moving it and I’m a strong female. I bought a dolly to put it on and now I have zero issues. I wash everything on the quick cycle which is 15 minutes.

I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this as I was hesitant. I’m glad I read the reviews I absolutely love it I was concerned I wont be able to hook it up to the sink but it’s very easy! The reviews about how it spins and dries the clothes better than a regular washer is absolutely true! It’s totally cute and modern which I love! The only reason I gave it a four stars instead of five is because of the wheels. Some people stated the wheels are fine you don’t need wheels others say you do ? well I did I think it depends on the floor you have. it made my hardwood floor turn black every time I rolled it and it’s not easy to roll. I purchased wheels separately from Amazon ( Space care Mobile roller ) It was well worth the purchase I put them on tonight and I am washing a load tonight to ensure that when it spins it’s stable with the wheel base still on it and locked. It is!! I’m super excited, I waited two years to get a wash machine but due to Covid I think it was time and I didn’t want to pay for the installation. I made the right decision! Hope this helps!

This little washer does a great job cleaning my laundry. I bought it a month ago and haven't had any problems. It uses less (he) detergent than required by my old machine, which is good for my pipes and the environment. Everything comes out clean and not soaking wet. The last spin cycle is so vigorous, the laundry is almost dry when you take it out! My only wish is that they put 4, all direction wheels on it. It has 2 wheels that only roll forward or back, no sideways motion. All in all it is a great little machine. Thank you INSIGNIA!

I’ve had this washer for over a year and it is one great machine!! Washes great. Holds a lot. Stores nicely. I needed to make a dolly for it because the wheels weren’t that great but not a big deal. Definitely recommended

Unfortunately, it was delivered with a minor dent on it, but looks like there was no damage to the washer. Unfortunately, all the cords (electrical & drain hose) are quite short. The drain hose feels like it's very cheap plastic material that if you squeeze somewhat hard, it bends. There's no clothes softener container... and the container for the liquid soap, drips as soon as you put it in. Although it has wheels on the back, they are soooooo small that it doesn't matter, they don't help you move the machine.... Fortunately, it comes with 2 washing machine hose (for cold & hot water) & an adapter... Overall, the washer machine is okay...

    cheaply made

The wheels are too small for this to actually move around an apartment easily; even tilting the machine back, it still leaves black skid marks all over the floor because the feet aren't cleared high enough for the wheels to take the full movement. The outflow drainage hose is cheaply made and punctures easily. I purchased this open box and the hose has numerous holes, and I have a very wet kitchen from the test cycle. There's no internal water heater, so if you have a kitchen faucet with only one tap (= most kitchen faucets), you can only run a cold wash cycle. It doesn't say this anywhere in the specifications or description. You have to transport this upright or it voids the warranty, because the drum will be out of alignment. So even if you have a station wagon, you'll have to use home delivery. Be aware that if you purchase something "open box", the full additional warranty doesn't apply, and if parts are missing (parts were missing) or it doesn't work (it doesn't work), you'll have to keep going back to the store for assistance, because no one on the phone customer service line will be able to help.

Living in an apt alone and I don't like sharing washer or dryer with other tenant in the building. I decided to find a portable washer. Most standard washers I found are below 1 Cu and it is just not big enough. I first went on Amazon, while there are washer the same size load as this insignia but they are just ridiculously over price. For 1.34 Cu on amazon is about $319. Then I stumbled on this Insignia at bestbuy website and it was 299 before tax and it is 1.6 cu. It is a steal. Although I am very questionable about insignia as they are not a electric brand I would go for but I guess this is what bestbuy have to offer at the moment. -----SIZE: IT IS 1.6 Cu. i honestly don't know what that number mean. However, I have a 16 gallons laundry bag from IKEA and this washer fit around 8 gallons of clothes or more. To me that is good enough. I would say if you are living alone like me and wear moderate amount of clothes during the week then this is just fine for you. -----PERFORMANCE: It cleans my clothes well and have multiple functions to fit what every your uses are. When this washer rinse and spin your clothes to dry it will definitely spin till your clothes is super dry. This came from someone who used an expensive full load size front door LG washer. Even this washer is able to spin my clothes dryer than my previous full size washer when I used to live with my family. with that being said, I don't really need a portable dryer and just air dry my clothes overnight with ease. The only things that I am try to figure it out right now is how to make my clothes soft after wash. Since it spin so good your clothes will be super dry that it felt hard after completely air dry. I don't want to use fabric softener as it is famous for clog and make most washer dirty after use. -----Ease of use: This thing is not rocket science to figure it out how to use. I find it very easy to install. All you have to do is follow the instruction and plug where it suppose to be and press play. Just make sure that the tube for water coming in is tight. If it doesn't fit your sink, you can always buy an adapter at hardware store. The water coming out tube need to be at the sink at all time. You don't need to be by the washer all the time if follow the instruction. -----TIPS: Although this washer comes with two wheels on the bottom back, it can be only useful if you live in a wood floor or any kind of flat floors. I live in an apt that came with high rise carpet so it was harder to move around. My tip is to either build or buy an adjustable dolly washer mover. This can be found on amazon for around 30 bucks or less (if there is a deal or discount). I find this solution to work best for my carpet floor and easy to push.

    WOW!

So I was totally second guessing this purchase, mainly because I am used to having or using a full sized washer for all of my laundry needs. However, now that I am a condo owner, and it's just me, this little washing machine is perfect! Unfortunately, other brands are rather similar (1.6 or 1.5 cu) but cost 2x the amount of $299.99, and look and function the same! This little guy is pretty cool! The only downside however, is that the attachments that come with the washer are really short, meh, okay, but the other really annoying aspect, is when you open the lid, say you forgot to throw something into the machine, the machine freaks out and beeps really loud, so you have to remind yourself to hit the pause button in order to open the lid. Also, I personally feel like this machine does not have enough water when on the Bulky/Large procedure, so I add additional water, and it's fine. Also, the wheels WILL GET CAUGHT ON A RUG! Be careful! Oh yeah, it's heavy, don't think, oh 70 lbs it's nothing, but it's definitely something when you gotta truck it up three (short) flights of stairs. LOL In short, if you need something economical, tiny, and perfect for a single person, buy this washer!
