Clearly, I am among those who saw the great average rating for this freezer only to have it fail on me in less than a month! Although the unit still gets power, it stopped freezing and everything in there is hovering around 38 degrees because we keep throwing ice packs in there so as not to lose $1000+ worth of food and weeks of cooking. Customer service is slow. Email takes about a day and calls take 45 minutes on hold. This is our first chest freezer.

Had the freezer for only 3 weeks before it died on me. On Christmas Day, I went in to get the meat for the weekend and everything was ruined! The power light was still on so we never have indication it went off. We are hunters and had many exotic meats, as well as hundreds of dollars of meat from the store - wasted! Insignia said the best they could do was refund me for the freezer but would not entertain any kind of compensation for lost meat. We weren’t looking for a blank check, just something to say “hey sorry you lost $1000 in food because we sold you a crappy freezer”. Do NOT buy!!!

First freezer failed after a couple of weeks. We were lucky we caught it early and didn’t lose everything. Second unit seems ok.

I would not recommend this freezer. Avoid!! It worked finet until yesterday. It has stopped freezing. The temperature has gone from -10 degrees Fahrenheit to 35 degrees Fahrenheit. I tried to call Best Buy Insignia Help, but was put on hold for over 30 minutes. Best Buy doesn't stand by its products.

This was a cheap freezer and acts like one. I’ve builds up near the hinges daily. It runs constantly. It is in my garage that isn’t air conditioned. Temps lately are in the 90’s. I’d rerun it but freezers are scarce now and it is full.

Came with a huge dent. Tried to contact customer service, they said they would come get it but that I would need to go to the store to get a new one. Never came to get it. Best Buy sucks lately.

Freezer came smashed in one of the corners bought in September of 2020 so best buy gave me 10% off the purchase. Writing this review because the compressor just went out and its more expensive to fix than get a new one. Dont ever buy an insignia freezer. My parents have had 2 GE freezers last over 15+ years and this Insignia didnt even last 2 years what a waste.

Delivered 1/27/21. Randomly stopped working. Lost about 600$ worth of food. Very disappointed that warranty is only one year. I've had it not long over two. Didn't even use it the entire time.

Horrible, bought it 9/26/2020 and it died right around the holidays. Had to throw out so much food. We bought this and got the extended warranty through Best Buy and it is “not eligible” for them to come service it at the house. We got it delivered because our cars are not big enough for it. So now we have to borrow a families members car to drive it all the way down to Best Buy. We probably will just return it and buy our appliances from Lowe’s or Home Depot in the future.

This is the 2nd Insignia product I have purchased. The first was a TV. Within 12 months the TV started getting black lines across the screen. By 17 months it was trash. The freezer was purchased and directions were followed it never got below 34 degrees. I will never buy another insignia product. 2 fails for 2 products. The only good thing was after 4 hours spread across 2 days on the phone, I was able to get my money back, if I brought it back to the store.

I purchased this freezer not even 2 years and 10 months ago and i am very disappointed it stopped working. As a breastfeeding mama to premature twin babies i am devasted that this freezer which ONLY ever has held breastmilk stopped working so quickly. All of my milk deforsted and gone without any notice. I wouldn't recommend this freeser to anyone.
