    Disappointed

We bought this TV to replace an analog set in our small bedroom. The picture quality is dull. It's not nearly as crisp and clear as the old TV. There are black areas to the side of the screen. The other screen options cut off words at the bottom of the screen or cut off heads at the top of the screen. There is no accurate "fit." Also, as others mentioned, it has a tinny sound. Disappointing.

    Don't Do It!

I don't know where all of the positive comments are coming from, and unfortunately they had fooled me into purchasing this defective item. The Insignia tv set is like a spooky demon -- it turns itself on and off with abandon, and it keeps tuning itself to the religious TV channel. Of course. Just my luck - I end up with a possessed tv set. After being sufficiently creeped out, I headed over to Google and searched for "Insignia TV turns itself on and off." Lo and behold, this is a widespread problem affecting Insignia TVs of all sizes. There were nearly 900 reports of this problem on one of the sites I found, and I'm sure there are thousands more elsewhere. Thankfully, I bought this within the "holiday" window, so I have an extended return period. I didn't keep the box, but the call center rep said that they'll still accept the return, minus a couple bucks for the missing box. That's pretty weak, but I'm in no mood to argue. Let's hope the return goes smoothly, or I'll have to release the Kraken (that lives inside this Insignia 19" tv set).

    Bad sound

If decent sound is important to you, spend a little more, and buy a "Brand" name unit. My use is for a bedroom, and won't be used very often, so the price worked for me. The sound was of really poor quality. I needed a second flat panel for another area later, and I stepped up and got a Samsung.

    Not too impressed

Bought at store, setup in kitchen. Sound quality was of poor quality, picture quality was no where near what was on display in the store. I later leaned that all in-store TVs are hooked up to a HDTV quality tuner. I just have regular cable at home. I packed it up and returned the same. Still looking for something a bit better without breaking the bank.

My luck, I got a lemon.....

Unfortunately, I just happened to grab one that did not work properly. The background was really red and the picture images looked "cartoony" and splotchy. I connected to my HD service, as well as, an antenna with the same result, so it was definitely the TV. After speaking to customer service, they agreed it needed to be returned. Hopefully, I can follow up this review with a more positive one after I exchange for another TV.
