    GREAT Kitchen TV

I've been using a 7 inch portable TV as a kitchen TV for the last few years but decided I needed something bigger. I like to have the news on in the background while drinking coffee in the morning or cooking dinner at night. This 19" TV is the perfect size! Overall I am happy with the performance and would recommend it, but it's not perfect. The picture quality is very good but not exceptional; I spent about 30 minutes adjusting the settings but just couldn't get it to be realistic. I ended up using the "Movie" setting which seems to give a warm look to skin tones and colors that aren't overly saturated, although there is still a very bright backlight on black images. The TV seems to be angled a bit forward, it looks like the top is leaning forward more than the bottom. My major gripe is the sound; it's loud enough for the kitchen but at higher volumes there is a noticeable buzz and vibrations, and the sound settings are useless. No matter which setting I choose (movie, news, standard, etc.) the sound is basically the same but maybe a little higher or lower pitched. The speakers are on the bottom of the TV and that seems to detract from the quality and overall volume. I wish the speakers faced forwards instead. I'm using the TV connected to an amplified antenna and I'm getting a lot of over-the-air channels. There are also a good selection of alternative connection options, such as cable, RCA, composite, USB and HDMI. Overall this is an excellent kitchen TV and I'm very happy with it!

I wanted a TV for the kitchen and this was the best I could find for the money. It's hard to find a small TV these days and even harder to find one that's decent. For $80, this one will get the job done. Pros: Minimal color shifting when viewed from sides and from above. VESA mount. Handles input up to 1080 @ 60Hz (native resolution is 1366x768). It's pretty light. Has two HDMI inputs. Has digital and analog audio outputs. The screen has a matte finish so there are no reflections. Cons: Significant color shifting when viewed from below. Built-in stand does not tilt. No VGA input and component/composite input is shared. The power supply is a wall wart. A standard plug with a transformer in the TV would be better. Neutral: Sound could be better. It's not horrible like my 39" Seiki but it could be better. The picture makes it look like the buttons stick out from the side of the TV. They don't. The buttons are not visible when viewing the TV from the front. I wish there were more options for small televisions. I know there are 15.6" and 17.3" 1920x1080 IPS panels because there are lots of laptops that use them. Seems like there would be a manufacturer putting them in televisions by now and selling them as premium units for $200-250.

My old Toshiba TV, about 9 year old, would not support the signal from the new Samsung Chromebook. So I purchased this 19" Insignia and it worked, as they say, from the "get-go" Now mind you its 'feather light' as to weight. Not as heavy as the old TV sets in the same size screen of the past. But don't let that stop you, this set really performs great, the sound isn't so bad either. So get one and enjoy. Try to get it on sale, that's even better. Hope this review helps someone. Be a happy kid-deo with your brand new video!

Bought for the office when on the computer. Impressed with colors and sound quality. Anyone needing a small television for close viewing can choose this one in confidence. Had no problems with install or using a universal remotewith it. Great value for price. I would recommend it as a Best Buy when on a budget.

Nice little TV, good for Raspberry PI

I bought this to use as a monitor for a Raspberry PI, since low end dedicated computer monitors actually don't have speakers or HDMI inputs. This is actually a pretty decent TV/monitor for $80, and has good sound and picture quality. Haven't tried the TV tuner yet, but considering it has 2 HDMI inputs, component input, and a composite video input, it will probably get good use as a display for my Playstation 2 as well.

    Perfect little HDTV!

I just ordered a 2nd Insignia 19" HDTV for my garage / back patio area. I currently bought one of these a month ago for my office which I use to watch local TV while working (TV has built-in digital tuner) and also have a Chromecast connected to it when desiring to stream (I use to stream Netflix /WatchESPN/ FoxSportstoGO/ VUDU/ etc) TV works great! This is also the 2nd one I have purchased Open Box from Best Buy website for $58.99 w/FREE SHIPPING!!! Comes just like brand new and saved me $20. TV has HDMI jack for cable/chromecast/roku, etc and also has built in tuner. All you need is rabbit ears if wanting to take advantage of the built in tuner for free local channels. (no converter box needed) We have Direct TV at our house with 4 large HDTVs connected up. We have a few other rooms such as my office / back deck/patio which I like to watch games on when at the grill, relaxing, or smoking cigars. All you need is Wifi internet and a streaming device to watch games with you this route. TV is very light (less than 10lbs) enabling easy wall mount with just screws or ability to move this TV from room to room. Probably will take one of these TVs camping with us this summer to entertain the kids at night. Sound quality is similar to the older 13" tube style TVs, not great but not awful. (you're not smart if expecting surround sound quality from this little guy) Has bottom firing speakers for stereo sound. Also comes with nice little remote. Couldn't be happier. May purchase yet a 3rd little TV at this price point for our downstairs Wet Bar. TV has removable speaker stands too.

Amazing compact TV for the price

When my old 15¨LCD kitchen TV died, I was sorry to see that that size, or anything less than 19¨is really hard to find. But this compact 19¨model fits in my kitchen even better, fortunately. I wanted a TV with a pedestal stand, since it has to go over my cable box. But the bottom of the Insignia is flat and larger than the top, so it sits atop the box perfectly, even without the included legs. I would have given this TV 5 starts if it were 1080p, but at this size 720 looks really good. Unlike some other cheaper models, this one has 2 HDMI inputs, and you still have a coax input for an antenna. My $19 flat antenna works fine. The remote is smaller than pictured, and that´s good. As someone else noted, sound is much better than just decent. The default picture options are fine, color accúrate, setup very straightforward. This TV is very lightweight, but attractive with a thin, black bezel. I have no reservations with recommending this TV, and wonder why others are so much more expensive. For a small room, this one is the bomb.

Extraordinary TV at an unbeatable price

What a great TV!!! It's just the right size to fit on my desk. It is NOT a "smart TV", which to me is a PLUS, not a negative feature of the TV. I don't need smart TV features, and this TV --- with two HDMI connections --- works perfectly with my cable box and Blu-Ray player. The TV has a full-size remote, actual BUTTONS on the side of the TV for volume, input selection, channel selection and an on-off switch. It has a headphone jack behind the set, easy set-up, fast start, and a nice appearance on my desk. The video is very good, and the audio is crystal clear with all words spoken easily understood. Purists will say that the video isn't as good as TVs costing $1,000 and the audio isn't symphonic quality for music, but I'm not looking for perfect picture and sound. I absolutely love this TV! Many thanks to the great staff at the Patchogue, NY Best Buy. Your efforts are appreciated.

Perfect for small room (bedroom, kitchen, etc). No frills, but a good picture with enough available adjustments to make viewing very acceptable. Speaker sound could be better, however considering the price, it's a nice purchase.

Perfect size for my kitchen. I attached it to an indoor rabbit ears antenna, turned it on and it walked me through on-screen set up to scan for channels. I was dreading trying to set it up but it was so simple and quick. Great quality picture. Couldn't be happier.

I saw this television in Best Buys weekly ad for $69.99 + tax. I was a little wary of the purchase do to some of other reviews. This tv is only a 720P, but the picture is great and the sound is also great. model # NS-19D220NA16-A

Mt 19" tv I keep in the kitchen went out, and since I have to keep it under the cabinet, due to limited counter space, I was having a hard time finding one that wasn't too tall. I stumbled on to this one, and after reading some of the many reviews, I said this is for me, and ordered it. Came the next day, we opened it, got it ready and plugged it in, used the on screen instructions, and I must say this is as good as any TV we own, as far as picture and sound quality goes. I am so glad I bought it, and if I need to replace another TV in the future, it will be this brand. You can't go wrong in my opinion.

Perfect solution to watcing "Over the Air" HD TV

Obviously, a 24" not-smart TV is a supplemental TV you use to keep you company when your preoccupied with other activities. However, this TV is ideal for watching digital "Over the Air" broadcast in full screen. Incidentally, as TWC subscriber, in addition to receiving all the non-HD broadcast by TWC, I'm also able to watch HD broadcasts (without a cable box or antenna). Apparently TWC broadcasts "Over the Air" HD channels such at NBC, CBS. ABC, Public TV, etc. I'm not using the TV as a computer monitor or any other non-TV function, but I'm confident it does a satisfying job as a monitor. In conclusion, if you want to watch METV and "Over the Air" HD broadcasts this TV is an excellent choice.
