Really, seriously. You put your hard drive in so it is protected. A condom for your hard drive. It works. all is well. The best thing is that you can use it more than one time.

Used to recover data from a laptop hard drive after the laptop was compromised and disabled. This was a good replacement and improvement for the harness we were actually looking for, since it protects the actual drive with a case.

Opened the case, put the HD in, closed and connected it: all good. I use it for backups, and otherwise it sits on a shelf (in the "pile") so I can't comment on ruggedness.

used this product to create a secondary drive. created a secondary drive for my new laptop using the hard drive from my old laptop. able to transfer files from my old computer to new one.

When I pulled the Hard drive from the damaged computer and place it in the Serial ATA Hard Drive Enclosure I thought it was going to be difficult to reprogram and it was as easy as "Plug & Play"

I updated my computer with a solid state drive and needed an enclosure to put my spinner hard drive. The case is well built with light and usb cord. It runs extremely quiet and very dependable.

Sturdy. Design dissipates heat well. Would have preferred a way to secure the back end of the drive inside the enclosure but, that said, the drive does not rattle around in use.

Good sturdy construction. Not filmst like some. Works great. Some people say it is slow, I have not found this to be the case. More expensive than others. I would purchase again if needed

I have to give it up to the Best Buy Guy who recommended me to change my plans and get this hard-drive holder. I was retiring my old laptop and needed the data off the drive - an arduous process to move from one drive to a new separate stand alone drive. Your guy said just pull the old drive from the laptop, slap it into this drive holder and you have all the data you want on an independent as needed basis - too easy and works perfect - thanks.

My Lenovo laptop died, the motherboard went bad. I wanted to salvage the hard drive so I bought this enclosure. After some fumbling I made it work. Now I can salvage the data and even use this as a second drive.

I needed a replacement case for an external SSD. The USB connector failed on the old one. This case seems more solid and hopefully, the connector will hold up longer also.

Bought this to facilitate data transfer/migration from old laptop hard drive to new SSD. Product worked as advertised although could probably find cheaper alternatives out there. Using my old hard drive along with enclosure as a backup drive.

I didn't want to completely lose my data, so I had BB put it in this enclosure. The enclosure works really well, unfortunately, the hard disk, which was failing completely failed.

After my laptop crashed I was able to take out the hard drive and use the ATA hard drive enclosure to recover all my files and I now use it as an external backup drive
