Pros: It sounds good, and works with every tape deck in all my different cars. Cons: The 3.5 head phone jack does not fit inside my iPhone protective case. The plastic surrounding the 3.5 plug is too thick. It's fine though, I just remove my iPhone from the case and then plug in when ever I'm in my car.

This is a convenient and inexpensive way to get high quality digital music sources played through older and outdated cassette players. The sound at high volumes are good, but at lower volumes there is a hissing sound that is audible, overall definitely worth the under $20.00 cost.

Since my pick up is old, and I listen to my music all the time I am behind the wheel, I need something to use with my iPod. I have used a few cheaper adaptors, but the sound is not as good as this brand. Comparing to the cost, this brand is worth spending money.

Bought this as a passenger in a vehicle with only a cassette player. I viewed the need as a near emergency situation prior to a last minute long long drive. No possible way I am spending hours in a car listening to yak-radio or Perry Como tapes. It worked as expected with my phone and was a little brighter in sound than I anticipated.

I purchased this since my 2004 Saab does not have an Aux input nor Bluetooth and I hated the FM transmitters to connect my phone to my car. I usually use a Bluetooth Cassette adapter, but when the battery gets drained on that I switch to this one. Sound is good. I only wish this had a microphone so I could use it for calls.

This is a great invention . We bought my son an 2001 honda accord and it has 6 cd changer and cassette tape. All my son cared about was the aux cord. I looked into replacing stereo for $250 before my friend told me about this . $18 was a lot better than $250!

Old School Cassette Adapter Really Works!

Got this so I could use my phone to play music through an old radio with no aux input, and it works pretty well. Sometimes the cassette auto-reverse kicks in and you have to eject it to get it to work. Sound quality is great.

We have an older vehicle that only has a cassette player and we wanted to be able to listen to music from our phones on it like we do in our other vehicles. This product was inexpensive and has worked great!

I bought this item about a year ago after realizing they even exist! It worked great for a couple months until the cassette stopped playing through the left speaker. Eventually I had to buy a new one after an unsuccessful attempt a finding the reciept. So far it works perfectly with no issues! Great value for the price!

    Still Working 2 Years Later

This thing is still going! I love having this in my older car. The sound quality is pretty great, and I haven't had any issues with it. Sometimes there's an occasional static sound that will happen, and usually I just have to adjust the Apple adapter that it plugs into for my phone, and the sound goes away. I think a key way to keep this thing going is to eject it every time you're done using it. I heard down the grapevine that leaving it in all the time might wear it out quicker?..

I bought this product to use in my truck because I do not have an aux cord. It works well enough and the sound quality is good for what it is. My only complaint is that sometimes the volume spikes or becomes quite while playing my music.

Got this to connect my phone to my car speakers, as I have an older car w/no bluetooth. Enables using car speakers for phone calls and phone apps, including Pandora, iTunes, etc. Only problem is that sometimes it starts to make a staticky or humming sound. Sometimes noise will stop if you wiggle the wire or hold it at a certain angle. Not sure if that's due to the angle itself, or to added grounding of holding the wire, but either way it's irritating. Noise will come and go, but doesn't start until driving for awhile. Maybe the wire is not well insulated? In any case, still well worth it to be able to connect my phone to my older car, as there aren't many other ways to do that. Possibly FM transmitter? All in all I use this product every day, and feel it was worth buying given that I haven't found a better version.

In store they only had bluetooth version on display (and it took 3 team members and several explanations of my old school audio set up to find it), but then I found this one online and picked it up there the next day (ready in hours; must have been in stockroom). Anyway, This Basic version is just what I needed. A CD got hopelessly stuck in my old Honda, so I bought the Insignia portable CD and this item and for low $ am now back in business with my old Bose that lacks any input jack. Sound is very good. I'm careful with the wire and try to take it out after each use and bring it in from the heat. Hopefully it will last awhile. Very happy they still stock this item!

This cassette adapter is one of the best I’ve ever used. The build quality is very high, the bearings in it make its operation virtually silent as the ‘gears’ turn. None of the tape decks I’ve used it in every stop and say ‘end’ or ‘rewind’ so playback is seamless. The only reason I’m not giving this a perfect 5 star review is the fact that a noticeable amount of the fidelity of the signal gets lost in translation from your iPod / phone to the cassette head. Obviously no cassette adapter is going to be studio quality however even high quality FLAC and WAV files sound more like 128 kbps MP3 files through this adapter. But it gets the job done and for under $20 this is a very well built and effective way to get a 3.5 mm AUX input into a stereo with a tape deck.

I have an older car that doesn't include Bluetooth features or auxillary input. Having to go through the cassette player might sound kind of lame but this adapter really does the trick. Sound quality doesn't suffer at all.
